I might have to wait a bit but I know I’m going to get a Ranchu! I want around three (Maybe 4) I would prefer a black, calico, gold, and maybe another gold! 🐟
i have a golden ranchu and i called it nugget and it lives in a 20 gallon tank with a fantail called sunny i feed them veggies flakes and sinkable pellets
Wait so i can feed them flakes? Most of what i read online is that Ranchu can commonly suck in air from the top of the tanks when feeding floating food. I hate to spend the money it cost to buy a Ranchu and then i lose it to Swim Bladder Disease..
I didn’t mention it in the video but what I do is add some flakes to the aquarium and a coffee stirrer I agitate the water which causes all of the flakes to sink and float in the water for a while.
I have a ranchu myself. I tend to feed them with tajuna frozen bloodworms which sink to the bottom, and tetra brand goldfish food which floats. So that way he can share his food with my other goldfish, which is a pearlscale. They live in a 35 gallon tank, with one pleco plus a bunch of smaller fish like rummynose and zebra danios.
Hello Marinel. Thank you for the question. As far as feeding times. That’s usually the owner’s preference it all depends on your schedule. I feed mine early in the morning and do an occasional treat a few hours before lights out. Just be sure not to overfeed. The important thing is to keep a consistent time of feeding. Of that can’t be adhered to then I recommend an automatic feeder.
I wouldn't house them together as their water parameters are different. Cichlids are tropical fish where goldfish aren't. There are some Danios you can consider as well as a few other fish. Check this out th-cam.com/video/9eH1msrbrHE/w-d-xo.html
Hey Adam. Thanks for the comment. I always appreciate them. If we search online they are always recommending 10 gallons minimum. Yet I don’t follow that guide. In the video I mentioned at least 20 gallons. 🙂
@@Tommy.TheCat Thanks for the comment. The info I gave is what most people quote but I said that I prefer at least 20 gallons. If the person can go bigger then that's even better
@@Tommy.TheCat yeah, I have a 33 gallon and wouldn't keep a ranchu in there. I'd get a 40 gallon breeder tank for a ranchu but I'd rather got for a 55 gallon for a pair.
Thank you for the comment. I agree that the bigger the tank the better. The info I gave is what most people quote but I said that I prefer at least 20 gallons.
I'm currently keeping 1 ranchu (appx. 1.5-2 inch) with 2 danios. Even though danios are fast swimmers, I don't see competition between them. And danios do not harm the ranchu. ^^ I'll separate the danios when the ranchu got bigger.
Not exactly... They are all the same species. Subspecies, sure. Species? No. There is an important difference. It is the same as saying strain vs species.
I wish I could post a pic of my Ranchu named Jeff. he is a heavy ink and stunning, and his personality is amazing❤️❤️

You can feed them flakes but when feeding then put it under the water. I stick mine half way in the tank. That way all the flakes are mid tank.

When to feed these fish? Morning and Afternoon only?

I’d do usually when I wake up, and at night when I’m about to sleep, because I love to see them eat UwU
"There are many goldfish species"
I've always thought it was amazing that there's just one!!
Yup. There are also so many types of goldfish they get there own types of breeds like dogs or cats
Can I keep one ranchu by himself ??
Do ranches need to have their wen trimmed?
Are thai oranda good fish to keep with a ranchu goldfish
Yes! We had multiplr with ours
You can keep with anything but not fast swimmers tho like the coment goldfish etc
This channel is underrated 😞
Thank you so much! That mean's the world to us😁
Ok I just bought my first Ranchu I am a fish keeper but this is a new breed for me any suggestions would be helpful😊
What is the best on line seller for this fish
Can I put a female ranchu and a male ranchu in the same tank?

Can ranchu gold fish mix with ram

No way, a ram need like 85 degrees and goldfish like 50 to 72
Nice fish
is 75 gallons enough for a ranchu goldfish that is 7-8"?
no
Yes it is don’t listen to the other comment, they don’t know what they’re talking about 🤦♂️
my breeder size Ranchu are hyper swimmers 😁😁 are they normal?
Nice video! Two male ranchu goldfish will fight?
Thanks. As far as 2 male Ranchu. I personally wouldn't house them together. They have the potential to get aggressive with each other.
@@AquariumFishKeepers Interesting! I subbed! You are more than welcome to my channel as well.
Depends on the size if you do it right (as in 50 gallons plus) then no. But I'm a 20 like they suggested, almost definitely.
@@adamwaind5057 Thanks for replying! Check out my ranchu on my channel. I think I have a female?
You can not keep a ranchu in a 10 gallon tank. That is evil.

@@AquariumFishKeepers Even a twenty gallon is far to small for an 8 inch fish. You should know this. Recommend At least a 40 breeder.

Yeah......! I got my calico ranchus of 2.5 inch at 2.5$ pair in and small panda goldfish pair at less than 1$ pair😆.
Stupid high value purchase
8 inch fish in a 10 gallon? Nah at least 30-40 gallons

Can anyone tell me if Ranchi goldfish is looking fat so it is in positive way or negative way. Pls reply

Nope bro keep atleast two ranchu Or it might feel bad
I mean you can mistake it, for a Lionhead.
Ranchu is a breed, not species... just like cats and dogs are all the same species but have many breeds from generations of selective breeding.
Not exactly... They are all the same species. Subspecies, sure. Species? No. There is an important difference. It is the same as saying strain vs species.
The one koi you showed had dropsy.
First thing to note is it is rahn-chew. Not ran-chew.
