  • If you blow a MIDI fuse on the battery tray, GM expects you to buy a complete new tray for $150 instead of simply replacing a $5 fuse. In this video, I share how I modified my old tray so the MIDI fuses are now replaceable.

Would any of those large fuses breaking leave the truck completely powerless? I have a new sierra in the driveway and nothing works. No lights, locks, even the key fob. Yesterday I made an appointment at the dealership because all the sudden my screen wasn't working. It would only work for the back up cam and it was only one of the 2 cameras working. Then this morning I go out to the truck and I couldn't even unlock the doors without using the old style turn key. My plan now is to have it put on a flatbed (I can't even get it into neutral) and brought to the dealership Monday. It's driving me crazy wondering what's wrong. I tried to jump it also..... nothing 😭.

I don't know about all fuses. I would check each one and possibly jump a blown fuse (maybe with an inline fuse in jumper wire)? With the fuse that I blew, I did not notice what functionality was lost in the 15-20 miles that I drove until the new unit came in.

Why is this not under warranty

You never said why you were doing this. My new truck batteries died and I have a 15 amp micro fuse on top of my assembly.

After the batteries died, I recharged them with a 3 hour drive. The reset for the 2024 Duramax was painful. It’s all working , but my head lights are blinking

The first 3 minutes explain why I was doing it as clearly as I can. I did not inquire about warranty as it was my action (slip) that blew the fuse.

@@edmamon4655 Where you getting any check engine lights or any codes? Asking because I just did the same thing

@@patrickcouvillion5245 I don't recall any error message. Again, might depend on which fuse you had blow.

@@edmamon4655sounds good. I just took mine into the dealer. In-case someone else does this in the future, I blew the first fuse closest to the negative on the passenger side. I got a check engine light the next morning when the truck tried to activate the glow plugs. 4 codes appeared, P066C, P067C, P066E, and P068E. All of which are low voltage codes for the affected glow plugs. Part comes in next Tuesday.
