I’m vegan and have pretty much the same ingredients, also stored in thrifted jars. The only extra things I have are a small selection of ‘randoms’ which I buy when they are still in date but being sold off in places like Lidle: I currently have 2 jars each of roasted peppers and artichokes. Plus a small selection of home made chutneys I made using Able & Co recipes as they came out great and costs very little. Its so lovely to see someone else’s pantry and also to share in your thoughts and daily life. Thanks!

Beans on toast was a staple in our house in Canada. My Dad grew up in England and it was a favourite late night snack of his. I also keep cashews as I love cashew cream, dried apricots, and split peas for soup.

I just wanted to say to you, that I am like you, at 66 years young, I know a lot older than you, but I only watch as little of the news as I can, I can not stand the adverts, and hate any loud noise on the tv. I now live in a private close, where traffic does not pass, thank goodness, and it is so peaceful here. I have tinnitus so any noise really affects me, and I have IBS and lots of other tummy problems, so can not cope with any stress. I live on my own with my dog in a very rural part of Devon, and have sold my car, and only go out to walk Madge, my rescue greyhound. Thank you for your videos, they keep me going. Love and Blessings from Devon England. xxx

Jilly, work towards transitioning to a whole foods plant based diet. Start with an 1/8 tsp or small quantities of slow fermenting fibres like PHGG and titrate up slowly over a few weeks eg. build up to a 1/4 then 1/2 tsp which will start to increase the good bacteria in your tummy and decrease the inflammatory bacteria which will help you to digest fibrous foods better over time. Cut out oil, refined flours and sugars and animal products (dairy included)as these foods only make symptoms worse. Even olive oil can be inflammatory for some sufferers. Avocado in moderation. Chia and hemp seeds soaked overnight and then blended ( not whole). Slowly introduce celery juice to calm your system and stop dehydration. An electric heat pad is great for tummy pain! Most medications only make it worse so try to minimise them where you can. Eventually getting off them altogether. Look up High Carb Health on the internet. People are healing naturally as you will see the testaments of sufferers. Truly life changing! I wish you well on your health journey!🌹🐝🦋

This was a great video 😄I'm not vegan, but mostly plant-based for health and dietary reasons, lactose intolerant and sensitive digestion. Seeing your pantry tour was super inspiring to me! I love how simple you keep things too. I'd say some pantry essential for me include oats, baking ingredients, dried and canned beans, seasonings and spices, as well as healthy and treat type snacks. I do also have tons of tea and enjoy some coffee now and then. Because I live in a tropical climate I keep a lot pantry items in the fridge too. I also realized I'm might benefit from taking a pre/probiotic supplement.

My pantry essentials are chia seeds, seed mixture (sunflower, pumpkin, flax and sesame seeds the sesame seeds sometimes are replaced with hemp seeds depending on the store brand). Beans of all kinds, oats and different grains and other good healthy whole plant foods.

Molly, just a caution using coconut oil. If you look up Bacteroidetes overgrowth and Coconut Oil/coconut Cream on Google Scholar you will find that the Bacteroidetes gut microbiome bacteria do indeed flourish when a person ingests Coconut Oil/ Cream in ANY quantity which is not good as Bacteroidetes overgrowth can inhibit vitamin and mineral absorption. Most vegans don’t know this fact, and unfortunately I didn’t either until I realised it was making me sick. I stopped using it and swapped it with Macadamia Oil for baking which is safe and delicious! I also researched Nutritional Yeast/ regular yeast and anyone with gut sensitivities eg. IBD, Crohns, Colitis shouldn’t have yeast either. Very bad on the gut flora. Dates are great in smoothies for breakfast with banana and berries! ♥

Interesting to see, thanks Molly. I'm not vegetarian but have cut my meat consumption by 90% simply by replacing it with veg sausages, and beanburgers, which I love (dirty veggies?!).
I've always liked beans and pulses but, apart from pearl barley (who's texture I love), I don't really know what to do with them - I just dump them in curries & Bolognese's, which are my staples, so looking forward to part two.

I tend to have issues not wanting any waste so I tend to hoard things and also prepare for bad times if stores have nothing so I have a lot stored too.
