Yes of course. I agree. Now let's add on the price of getting them home. This situation is now a complete whackado situation. We have American families that are homeless. People that worked their entire lives who were let down. But let's find these families a shelter near schools and a MCDonalds. The only thing unjust is that the children are suffering.

My question is why didn’t New York do this for homeless and veterans a LONG time ago if they are capable of doing it for illegals? Winters are brutal and they could have used to care and concern themselves.

I agree to an extent. At least most of the illegals are willing to and eventually end up working doing jobs that citizens don’t want. As for the homeless on the streets, most of them steal for their drug money and collect welfare or social security disability benefits and refuse to work. Let’s keep the illegals if their home countries take our homeless street campers, a one for one swap.

I came to America in the mid 80’s from Vietnam. I slept on cardboard, have one box of cereal to share with my older brother per week until our family stabilized. I walked 30 minutes across town to go to school when the school bus stop picking up kids at my street. These are people with expectations of entitlement. If these immigrants find the grass is not green on the other side, then they need to go back where they came.
America is great for those willing to work hard for it, not free loaders. We tax payers do not need another mouth to feed.

No one forced these people to come to the US empty handed with no plans on what to do with themselves and where to go when they get here. It is nobody's fault but each person who crossed that border expecting to have everything including housing handed at no cost as soon as they arrive. Maybe start a campaign to "offer transportation" back to their country of origin to those that realize they made a mistake and decide to go back as winter is coming. With winter coming it will get cold in the northern states in US and even Texas, there may be many people that still have family back in their home countries that would be happy to take them in if they decide to return. I am sure that would be cheaper on taxpayers then providing housing and paying for all the needs of all these migrants for months on end.

Back in the late 80s we lived 3 blocks from the county line(Florida), my 2 sons age 5 and 10 had to ride the school bus for over an hour one way to get to school, after school same thing over an hour to get home. They usually got home from school about 4:30-4:45 pm depending on the traffic.

I committed via MetroNorth, transferring to the subway and walking to my job -- after taking my children to the YMCA child care program. Many of my neighbors did the same routine!! The YMCA childcare costs, MetroNorth ticket costs, station parking costs, the subway MetroCard costs!! These people are too entitled!!

Advocates are a problem. The mayor implicitly stated weeks ago that nyc has no more shelter space. These are grown adults who made the adult decision for themselves and their kids to hike across the border and if they can decide this isn't what they were expecting then they're old enough to ask questions on their own behalf. This makes it really clear that those advocates are using them for some purpose we're not fully aware of.

We have always given help to countries that need it but now they think it’s okay to travel to the US and demand that we house and feed them. But my neighbor's the people who I grew up with is my fellow American U.S Citizen. I care about them. I want my tax dollars to go to the veteran that fought for our freedom. The very least any of us could do and all the lawmakers those are the very first people they should be making sure are living comfortably without them they wouldn't have their life of luxury.

Exactly. One of my friends in Sanat Clarita. California just got a rent increase for a two bed room Apt. 3700 a month. She gets 1100 a month SS so her husband still works and pays the majority and she has about 300.00 for groceries and clothes and other needs and that is horrible when you are an American and they have the Gaul to demand freebies.

My wonderful husband...tax/rent paying, hardworking, voting, law abiding now retired merchant seaman (Vietnam vet) was actually born in 1945 in Mexico City. His mom (from Salt Lake City), made sure he naturalized, as a young man. The process took several years and voluminous paperwork...But no regrets: he did it by the book...

We lived in a military canvas tent for months when I was in the service. The “ shower tent” was walking distance. But you stood on a long bench underneath a row of showers. No privacy at all.
There was a mini fridge and microwave in the tent. Slept four. Food was bought from a semi trailer converted to a store. There were picnic tables outside to sit at. A step above camping but a step below a room in a building.
When stationed in the Mideast, two to a room with bunks and a mini fridge. Room was so small, the lockers had no doors because you could not open them with the bunks there. At least they had AC. Showers and toilets were in a separate building 20 or so yards away. Dining hall was a jaunt, but the food was good.
Did have to sleep on the ground in a sleeping bag, outside, in boot camp a few nights.
The shelter at NYC would have luxurious. Some camps in Vietnam were even less basic.
These Illegals need to turn around and go back to where they came from. I didn’t serve 4 years in the Marines to have to deal with them.
Before coming to US , make sure u saved up good money for ur family, that way u can get a apt asap , or if u have family that are legal get in contact with them before heading over , have a plan , and a back up plan ❤
