He knows how to play the games that have kept vapid Democrat dogma and ass-kissing kings and queens in their aristocratic bubble. That's getting popped as we speak and NY will descend into the pit of survival it should be. If it can validly call itself 'the melting pot of the nation' let's see some melting. You've been resting on your mass too long. Now you're going to have to shoulder that mass and your morals have atrophied while your conspicuous compassion has turned you into a Sanctimonious City. Bullshit bravado and chickenshit charity. Sail on John Cheese.

In every way possible it is affecting poor, working class and middle class American. The wealthy don't care because it does not affect them. NYC is the most expensive city in the world. Tons of Americans in New York are living in cramped apartments. Many families live in the public housing projects. There is a scarcity of food and food stamps don't go far so families are scrapping by. The minimum wage in NYC although high in comparison to other parts of the country barely gets you by in NYC. The shelters are full of American poor families waiting to get into any type of suitable housing. Unemployment is very high. Crime is out of control and the police departments are underfunded. There is a lack of funding for schools so kids who are not wealthy in NYC are getting a subpar education. There is an opioid crisis. The eviction rate is very high leaving families scrambling for housing. NYC no longer has the resources to deal with this overflow of illegal immigrants and never did. This was a gross miscalculation on the part of the liberals in believing they could accommodate these illegals coming in by the bus loads. These are just some of the reasons that illegal immigration is affecting Americans. If you feel so inclined open your home and sponsor some of these illegal immigrants. Nobody is stopping you.@@rondas7772

Back in the day immigrants would have gladly accepted such an opportunity, to have shelter, food, transportation and more while working hard to create a new life, in a new country that offered more freedom to be able to help oneself. These immigrants now come with an attitude of expectation to be cared for, to be given what others have to work for. I have seen many women with numerous young children expecting to have all their needs taken care of, to raise their kids in a country without any expense to themselves, to not even have to work or lift a finger and all the while complaining.
How long will it take for people with such attitudes to look at the homes of others and think they are entitled to that as well? Many come from countries in which violence is a way of life and now they are in countries with peace minded people. All it takes is one voice among them to stir the already heated emotions of resentment, self pity, jealously, rage and then an attack on the original peoples.
We already see violence on our streets and most of them are recent immigrants, all fired up for a cause that doesn't belong on our streets. How much have we endured listening to people call out hatred just for disagreeing in thought and now hate rules our streets. These two groups will unite and in the meantime the rest of us better unite and get this situation under control somehow because it's an emotional storm waiting to be unleashed on many unsuspecting people who are not prepared to face such hatred and violence at their own doorsteps.

This is actually a good thing for NYC. The right to shelter law says that the city is only responsible for housing people who request shelter. If the migrants refuse the shelter the city gives them, then the city is no longer responsible for them. City officials have already started sending migrants who refuse their placement to "reticketing centers" where they're offered a free flight to anywhere in the world. And if they're gonna to be on the streets anyway, they'll probably leave NYC in search of somewhere that doesn't have such a harsh winter.

It’s time for US government to take over these tent shelter, detain the “asylum seekers” until they’re hearings determining whether or not they actually qualify for asylum. We have to send a message to potential “asylum seekers” that unless they truly qualify for asylum, they’d be better off staying at home. Of course, if they choose not to stay in detention, we’ll send them with a one-way flight home.
