Another fine video on fishing in Alaska! I really enjoyed the personal touch with the background of growing up fishing the Pacific Northwest. Also some great footage of careful, respectful treatment of fish to be released in a safe non-harmful manner! Well done sir!! Keep your tip up and your line tight!

Thanks for watching and for the kind words. I hate when I see people kick pinks and Dolly Varden back in to the water just because they were not the target species 🤬

Very nice mate. Pinks on the fly are fun. Looks like you had a decent day.

Nice! That’s the same spot I tested out my 5wt after purchasing it. Humpies are a hoot on a fly rod.

Water was WAY up from normal and flowing fast

LOL Thanks, but I’m definitely not the most gifted fly angler😂. Thanks for watching and definitely appreciate the sub! Hope to have a new video out soon!

    Just so you know:
11:55 touching a salmon or trout's gills like that can seriously injure the fish. Holding it under the gill cover can damage the fish's mouthparts and their gills are very sensitive. The other thing I see done by people is that they lift the fish by its tail. This causes spinal damage, which often leads to the fish's death post-release.
    Otherwise, great video.

Thanks for the info. I strive to release anything I’m not taking home in as good of condition as possible. Holding fish up for video purposes is something new for me and I’ll try and find a better way to accomplish that in the next video. Thanks for watching and for the feedback, both are much appreciated!

No problem. Thanks for being nice about it. Where I'm from in Northern Ireland our Atlantic Salmon are very scarce so it's important that as many as possible survive to spawn. Most people don't know how to handle fish correctly so I like to let people know how to.
      Tight lines!

You forgot to mention a net, holding the fish up towards the current, never dragging a fish backwards since it closes the ghills and causes the fish to suffocate bla bla bla....@@aaronwilliamwallace

Looks so remote I don’t think I can go to be alone like that

I guess everywhere on Kodiak is “remote” since we are an island but this spot is not far from town

Nice video, lots of Pinks few Sockeye still coming up and "not many" Coho Salmon showing yet.
Waiting to watch your video landing those COHO Fighters.
