This is super helpful! I really like the way you did this. It’s not overly inundating with the history of anthuriums 😅like some people do. It’s straight to the point with useful info. You’ve experienced impressive growth with your anthuriums. I have two queens, lux x rad, mag and some other hybrids. I’m relatively new still though
This is a great video with detailed info which I truly appreciate! The reason for the difference in your internodel spacing b/t moss and soil is most likely because the ones grown in soil are growing faster, so they are larger and the nodes are more spaced out. The ones in moss have access to fewer nutrients so they are growing slower, allowing for compact growth with much shorter internodes. Love your set up and your beautiful plants. Thanks for sharing!
I love this break down of what medium fertilizer/watering humidity and most of all the PAR section. I have been measuring PAR over the last few months and this is the first video I have seen that goes into PAR levels like this for these specific plants. Really cool to see the set up and how each plant has done for you over time.
Hello, I just wanted to thank you for sharing the progress of your plants. I appreciate the solutions you offer and your straightforwardness. I will be receiving an Anthurium Warocqueanum soon and would love some more advice, as well as an update on yours. Thank you for sharing, and I'm eager to see an update.
They are absolutely gorgeous 😍😍😍 She’s my wishlist plant 🌱 0:33 Saving for this beauty! Thank you for sharing your method, that will help me a lot when I get one. They are stunning 😍 Keep up the awesome green thumb 👍🏽
I could use all the help I can get from you on how to help Anthurium's. My leaves keep getting brown on the edges. I already checked for pests and thankfully none I have seen. I use a humidifier every day all day. I grow mine in my dining room as well. Please keep doing videos focusing on your Anthurium's. They are gorgeous great job!
Thank you so much for making this video!! Its been very helpful. Just got mine from ecuagenera and when I got it I was very disappointed with how small it was. After seeing your plants’ progress, I’ve been encouraged!!! I’ll make sure I’ll remember to fertilize my plants lol I seem to always forget and so they only got fertilized 6 times this year 💀
I live in Sacramento,ca too! I have been looking into this plant and you definitely inspired me to get one but id rather get one locally instead of shipping
Beautiful beautiful plants! I have an Anthurium Bessea shipping in the mail! I struggle with some, and others are doing great...my Dark Form Forgettii is doing wonderful....it is in the moss it came with! Highly recommend this one!...So you do like moss better than aroid mix for the queen? I got my queen this summer with 3 leaves and one leaf has slowly died away....she is alive but not thriving.....I moved her to a different spot with a couple other anthuriums and so far they like it! I love them all...and please share when you add anymore to your collection! Thanks so much for sharing with us!
Hello! Hope you see this message. I recently got a queen anthurium, couple of inches tall like you had initially. I wanted to transfer it to moss like you have. Did you have it in moss right from the beginning? I also live in Sacramento so it’s nice to follow somebody’s advice that lives in the same conditions.
hello - when i got the plant it was not in moss - when i moved it to a larger pot i put it in moss but left the roots in the original mix so as not to disturb them.
I live in San Diego! I know, zone 10b is probably not the same as you in Sacramento, but our hot days are fairly close. Believe it or not, just because I just live five minutes from the beach, we have 80° days in October, often through Christmas, lol. September in Socal is more like 90-95° days. The ocean breeze is basically nonexistent. Can you grow these plants year round outside, sheltered? They all look great, I also love Bonide houseplant insect systemic. I swear by it, for non-edibles, haha. They make an organic systemic, too, that’s safe for edibles. I just found this out! I love sphagnum moss for everything including succulents! I also like orchid mix, premade, and I just amend it some more. I think the larger leaves but less leaves with the aroid mix is due to the the superior nutrition and organic matter, The sphagnum is good too, but not as nutritionally dense as the mix probably, but that’s what stimulates the plant to be tighter, and produce more. Kind of like succulents… if they’re grown in too dark of light, they get greener, absorb more moisture, exhale less of it, and risk rot… but they are generally healthy.p if you watch the water. On the contrary, give plants/succulents more light, with minimal substrate, and the growth is tighter and denser. Plus colors are often enhanced. It all boils down to stressing the plant, it’s a fine line. Lol. Make ‘em shake in their boots a little, I’ve heard someone say once. Deprive them of just enough of something, be it light or water or nutrients, and the form and colors often improve,
thanks for the note - I think you should try one plant outside and see how it does - I put a melanochrysum outside 2 weeks ago as the weather isn't as hot now and it doing well. The sphagnum plant had the tighter node growth...
Love this videos. Thank you. I grow most of my anthurium in pon. I was wondering where and what is the name of those pots? Thank you. Hopefully we keep seen your videos ❤❤❤
Just got my first queen , would you be able to make a video specific to the orchiderium yours is open when i google these they are all closed like the ikea cabinets which i dont have room for but may be able to do a mini of the orchidarium
the queens are so big now that i have them out of the orchiderium sitting in the open dinning room and they are doing fine. 34 inch leaves now! I have a humidifier near them. You don't need the ikea to grow them...
@@growproteas1148 great, Mine arent as small as yours started but I would love to get them the size of the ones in the video after only a year, that's insane. My friend has had one for over a year and its pretty much the same size as when she got it. mine were imported so I'm worried about the acclimation process. But this video definitely helped ease a bit of my worry.
@@growproteas1148 do you recommend acclimation in a dome, greenhouse, or humidity bag or do you think just taking it out is better so it can get used to it's new conditions.
@@theeclecticgent502 I would take out of the bag. Buy a humidifier... the one in my video has worked well. It's on during the day , off at night. I have close to the plants

@@growproteas1148 yes between 70-75 percent

How did you grow moss of top of your plants? Did you put it there or did it automatically grow on top of the moss?
it grew there on its own - grows more in winter and less in summer
