Hi Kunal, thank you for sharing. We have grown up eating Moringa in Mauritius and my mum usually makes Moringa soup. We need cooked rice water. In oil we add onion, garlic, ginger, tomato and sauté. Then add some leaves to sauté. Then add the rice water and boil. Add all the leaves and salt to boil for some 15 to 20 minutes. It’s very tasty with rice, fried potato chips and coconut chutney or tomato chutney.

Hello Chef Kunal. truly I didn't even imagine that this plant, the moringa plant which has grown into a huge tree in my backyard can be used in this way in Mauritius. I also must say that you make this 'moringa paratha' which at first sounded like a hugely complicated recipe to me, you patiently showed how to transform it into a delicious paratha effortlessly, step by step. thanks to yr magic cooking skills and easy to understand explanations with tips and tricks Kunal Sir, I am sure I can make this paratha effortlessly I have tried yr version of aloo paratha and my dad who is a vegetarian Muslim loved it. can you also make a special video on benefits of moringa and a series of videos on the most popular recipes of moringa leaves, stems and flower. lots of love from Mauritius. kindly text back

In odisha moringa plant which is here called sajana chuin or munga plant is very common almost found in each one's backyards and it is a tree which gives you food for almost every day . The leaves (as sajana saga) and fruit(drumstick) are used in cooking...love this paratha recipe...😍

This is what I call an authentic fusion dish...North Indian paratha made with South Karnataka / Tamil Nadu moringa leaves combined with North Karnataka kempu chutney...
    Way to go chef!
Moringa is said to be boon given by the almighty for human health. We in South love it and use it as one if staple vegetables. Leaves, drumsticks and flowers are all used in our cuisine.
Good to see you propagating bith eating and growing moringa. Just to ad, Moringa is a drought resistant tree, which starts to yield with an year of planting a sapling. Hardly demands any care.
It is prone to attract hairy caterpillars though. These caterpillars can cause severe itching, pain and burning sensation by the mere touch. I mean they would be in thousands as butterflies would lay the eggs under the leaves. ...therefore it would be necessary to prune it once a year during the mating season of butterflies. And it can become a host to colonies of red weaver ants which can sting pretty badly.
    Just to be careful....

Moringa ❤️ happens to be one of my favourite subzis. In Kerala we use both leaves and the flowers by themselves as dry subzi with grated coconut ( steamed) . Both tasty and healthy . But for some this can have digestive issues due to high iron content .

Hello The Great Chef! Happy Makar (Poush - in Bengali) Sankranti! I am a Bengali guy from Kolkata. Pretty senior to you but consider you to be the best Chef on You Tube. You are well aware of the fact that we, all Bengali people, love this Moringa (Shojney - as we pronounce). We love to eat all the parts - Drum Sticks (Danta), The flowers (Shojney Phool), etc. But you probably won't believe that today only I have come to know from your show that Moringa is actually Shojney Pata (leaves). Whatta falacy dear. Well, thank you so much. Shall keep watching your shows regularly. God bless 🙏

Almost every house is Kerala has atleast one Moringa tree in its backyard and like Chef said almost every part of it is widely used in our diet. But it's also believed that one should avoid consuming Moringa leaves or flowers (the sticks are fine I guess) during the monsoon season. Specifically during the "Saavan month" or in our language "Karkidakam". It's the month of heavy rains & it's believed that moringa tree is recuperating during this period & consumption can be unhealthy or poisonous to the body.

Do not use knife to cut the leaves because it is very rich in iron content. Just remove leaves, wash and use it for any type of dish.

Super 👍we can make soup in it n if we put handful of this leaves at the end to get a very good flavour of ghee when we prepare ghee from butter...
In South we prepare curries, sambar etc in murungai keerai means murungai leaves 👍

Looking at chefs, we use aprons every day in kitchens... We feel what we cook... Looking at you many can turn vegetarian... Once for a while.. just taste karne k liye... Make vegetarinism as lavish as you can... For those punjabis who cannot live without non veg... Those creamy dishes with kaju badam ... Mughlai chawal... Dahi... Whatever it takes... To ho vegetarian... Stay blessed ❤️🙏

That "Suhajane ke phool" we are eating since we get to eat vegetables, especially in winters. It takes time to prepare. I used to asks friends in school then in college do they eat it? They always said they don't even know it. I don't know that we are Sindhi's or Punjabi's but it is made in our family since generations.

Hi Kunal , we in South make sabji with moringa , we add it in Adai, medhu vada, dal Vada, sambar. When we make ghee from butter we add one spring of moringa leaves into the boiling ghee in the end so that the ghee spells of the moringa which gives a good flavour. The sabji is very easy n tasty.
