  • I finally got a chance to test the range on the Both Lighting IR4 and the results are very impressive!
    Let me know if you want to learn anything else about these lights!! The results of this test is just another reason why these lights are the best DJ uplights out right now!

    The fact that you can set the DMX address on these is super helpful. Not sure why Rockville didn’t do that on their RF force since they’re basically the same price.

      I agree! It’s a huge advantage for the Both lighting lights over the Rockville’s

    Great vid! Is there a big difference between the Both and Rockville or is Rockville and Both lights the same? Thanks

      Thanks for watching! The light output and range, battery power are similar as they’re the same lights and same parts (both made by Bothlighting actually). The main difference is how they’re controlled - the IR4s have an IR remote and can be controlled easier via master/slave mode while the Rockvilles have the RF remote, but are a little less easy to control in their master slave mode or in DMX mode! I’ve actually had the Rockvilles and made a couple videos about them on the channel as well! Ended up going with the IR4s though because I use them in master/slave mode more. But other than how they’re controlled, they’re the same light!

    Can I use chauvet dfi transmitter to connect to ir4?

    • @MrMaui38
      @MrMaui38  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks for watching! I’m not sure as I’ve never tested this myself (I don’t have the Chauvet dfi) but from what I’m seeing online, I don’t think that it works with Both lighting fixtures. There could be a way, but from what I’ve seen from other TH-cam comments, I think the answer is no.

    Could the slaves act like a mesh system. Passing signals to each other?

    • @MrMaui38
      @MrMaui38  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thanks for watching. Unfortunately these don’t do that - all slaves only get the signal from the one master light and slaves can’t pass on the signal. I think the Ape labs ones do pass signal along to each other though but $$$$

    I find the range is shorter when you have a space full of people. Still love them though

      @MrMaui38  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for watching! Yup I can definitely see it getting shorter with people in the way. Still think it would work great for most venues and esp if the master light is mounted somewhere up higher. Keep rockin!!

    excellent video . I just bought 8 and I was wondering the same. Cut that in half and thats still not too bad for most wedding venues.

    i seem to get a bit more range and more stability out of a wireless DMX transmitter with these than i do in master and slave mode

      Mine have issues responding to the master when there is a room full of people. What system do you use? Do you still have issues with the Both IR4 lights responding with your system? I’m assuming you are using a wireless dongle. Just looking for some solutions.

    • @mkAYY825

      @@EnormeSounds I use a generic brand DMX transmitter, when i first started using it i had some issues, on my first 2 events, but right now I do not seem to be having any issues at all, regardelss of room size. although i try to keep a clear line of sight where I can just to try and make it easier for the signal to pass. and sometimes I will keep all the lights near to the transmitter first, to make sure they are all doing what they are supposed to do, before i place them around the room.

      Thanks for the info. Good to know because I’m thinking about going with a generic DMX controller and transmitter as well. I really wanted the master/slave to work with the remote; however it’s good to know I won’t experience the same issues if I get a controller.

      Yoooo lets goo bro thanks for watching!! Yeah man its super impressive and 100 ft range is great!! The only thing left to test is how the range changes when there's a dance floor of people in the way, but even if its less than 100 feet, it's still alot. They're a great buy!!
