This is pure gold, a masterpiece from the past by Pat Ventura. The animation style, the jokes (especially the one with the chicken giving "taste" to the soup at the beginning) - everything is beautifully unpolished and funny to perfection. For me, this is a unique style in cartoons with Pat Ventura as their Picasso.
this is what you get when a cartoon is animator controlled. a true cartoon. the guys seriously threw every slapstick sound effect at this one and it was gloriously funny.
yeah I love how the amount of frames is limited so instead of being about fluidity it's about having really really fun and wacky drawings and spacing them out well.
I remember watching this on cable tv aged about 8 and collapsing with laughter when he goes at the steak. Haven’t seen this again until now but I always remember that scene
I remembered Yuckie Duck saying "One slab of moo meat" and that brought me here. And I forgot all about how he brutally murders a hunk of cheese with a knife- surprisingly visceral.
Even over two decades later, the sound design here is spot-on, creative, and outrageously effective! 2:00 put me into hysterics...I faintly remember watching this when it first aired, and I forgot that they characterized the Limburger's first appearance with the sound of a pack of vicious dogs. The flushing of the soup on the stovetop and the cheese screaming upon being stabbed were fantastic sound choices as well.

It's amazing to think that all the "Gross" cartoons of the 90's were inspired by Ren & Stimpy, I just kinda figured "Gross" was the way you did things in the 90's...

😂I thought the part where he smelled the Limburger cheese and said "peeyoo, this stuff smells worse than the back end of a wet moose in spring!" Was the funniest thing ever! I couldn't stop laughing for 2 hours. I actually kept watching the clock to see how long I would laugh. I just couldn't stop at that thing about the moose's back side and how that cheese smells like a man's crotch, too.

That's what goes on behind the scenes when you go around restaurants ordering stuff.....feeling like a boss...that's what they do behind the scenes and give you to eat while you sit there shouting orders. Mostly because they must be angry at receiving orders from others, even if you're nice they hate to feel lower , to be running at people's commands. Guess we have to be less enthusiastic about rushing to eat out, lol.
Reminds me of the last time I cleaned out the fridge... probably reminds my mom of that one restaurant in Warner Robins that was shut down from a roach infestation, lol... Mr. Ventura, why do none of your pilots ever get picked up???
I used to watch this and many other animations from What a Cartoon when I was little and just now I'm realising how disturbing it was. Anyway, I still like it though, now I can notice all the animation details.
One EXTREMELY FOUL LIMBURGER CHEESE SANDWICH! Yep! The name says it all! LOL! which is why this restaurant should be shutdown for many Health Code Violations.
That scene of him trying to cut a steak is just the best thing ever made.
I agree, I burst into tears of laughter everytime at that bit.
You'll never see something like that in cartoons nowadays
He is the only person to shoot a gun that fast
this scene has lived rent free in my head for 11 years now
Agreed. A (chef kiss) work of animation! Along with the steak's prep too.
