This is the first time I've had the opportunity to remove an unbroken screen. I was surprised how easy it lifted once I had the metal frame too hot to touch. I'm not sure what the Samsung recommended temperature is but I think it might be 80c
DIY repairs will void any warranty but may save you $$

Oh man thank u very much!...
I just spent 5 euro instead of 100 :D
Great video, nicely explained.
Greetings from Germany
OMG!!! Just replaced my screen myself following ur vid. (Watched like a million times😁) saved tons of £££ thank u thank you thank u. Proud new techie right here. Hehehehe
Tell me
You sir, are a charm! You just include every detail in your videos - Just fab! Thank you.
Wow! Sir my most sincere gratitude to you. This is by far the most detailed tutorial video i've ever seen! Thank you for sharing you expertise with everyone!
the moment I opened mine, the old rubber instantly fell to pieces off the volume and power button
Happens to all aging phones, also happened to my Galaxy Ace
yes its worth a try, remove the rear cover and unplug all the flex cables, give it a long blow dry with a hairdryer and put it back together. If you are lucky it might work again..
I don't think it can be done on this model, search for 'galaxy note glass screen only' and you will see how it might be done..
it won't do any harm and you have nothing to lose as the phone is currently dead anyway. About 60ºC is fine..
THANK YOU, THANK YOU,THANK YOU,THANK YOU for this video!!! Removing the screen for replacement was a hell of an ordeal, but this video sure was totally useful!!. THANK YOU!!
yes that is the speaker, Google for 'n7000 ringer speaker' and click the shopping link
That one is completly broken.. haha.
it's a shame I'm searching my ass of for fixes and contacted the guy on ebay and he offered a return but I'd like a new screen deliverd first before I send this back, and I told him but now he's not responding anymore... my luck huh
Thanks for this. This was handy for replacing my headphone jack last year, and for replacing both the newer jack and my charging port today.
Must remember not to repeatedly remove and insert the earphones to pause/rewind podcasts!
Me: My note is broken
Others: Thanks for this
22:36 - what is that brass tape below the black plastic and what glue do i have to use to tape it back in there?
and how would one remove the glass from the touch panel?
Hi, i cant charge my battery anymore....Is there maybe a problem with the pin connection with that micro usb dock?
Im gonna buy another to change it!Thank you for any your advice!
Thanks for your excellent tutorials, which are without doubt the best on the Web!
Just came to see how far technicality evolved in terms of designing internals
I would love to cover that kind of repair in the future, but I need to catch up with all the latest phone first...might be a few years though :-)
You saved my Galaxy Note! Thank you! I have a question...there is a sort of metallic adesive behind the usb flat flex dock (i60.tinypic.com/2menxtz.jpg) ..i don t removed it..what is it? I used it to past on the device...correct? Thank you so much! High quality and friendly approach video!
Thank you, I follow your detailed clear instructions and replace the micro usb borad without difficulty.
Hey can you please help me too? I need to know which brand is good for buying usb port. If you have the link please drop it in reply.
I've had the same problem, there's not much you can do really..
Thank you so much! A broken screen looked like the end, until I remembered replacing a digital camera screen once upon a time. To my amazement, a web search located all the necessary parts for my Note 1 (all seem to come from Hong Kong - but despite my doubts, everything arrived) and then your wonderful video showed me how to transfer every part from one frame to another, before sticking the new screen on the new frame and replacing everything else as you describe. And to my astonishment, when I pressed the on button on my newly restored phone, everything worked as it should! I'd never have imagined it, especially having peeled well-stuck components and wafer thin cables off one frame and stuck them back on another. Really wonderful and helpful video. Total cost of repair - 2 evenings and 150 euros. The phone is as good as new now. Anyone else - don't give up. You can probably save your phone if you really want to.
thanks for the great feedback, its nice to hear success stories :-)
i just followed your tutorial to change my note housing, i used my thumbnail and i was pretty careful with that,,,but after putting the new case (oem from cnn.cn) i feel that the volume rocker buttons dot feel as clicky as they used to. is there any possibility that i have damaged them while sliding my thumbnail?
it might be a faulty screen, can you try plugging in the old one
Hi there,
Do you have a video just replacing the front glass by separating it from the LCD/Digitizer? How do you go about doing it? Thanks.
Great tutorial thank you. Very informative and patient. I've replaced the usb piece and now the screen doesn't respond to my touch, it will only respond to the S-Pen. I've done all the factory reset etc, just can't seem to find what controls the finger touch bit in the hardware.
I've followed many phone repair videos from several different creators. Hands down, you have the best. The annotations between time stamps was excellent! Thanks for the extra effort!
Wow! Can't believe how well made this video is, and how well each step is explained... So much knowledge given freely is a wonderful thing to behold... Thanks a tonne!
Amazing , super detailed... I'm not sure my screens going to come off as smoothly as yours but here's hoping. Thanks for making it.
Hey can u send me the screen with the metal frame please I have one functional but its display is gone please
Those little goldish coloured bits that pop out into the battery mould where the battery actually lines up with them, one of those are ripped on mine and I've no idea what to do. I'm guessing it's a part of the motherboard or something but if you can help me out I'd appreciate it.
do all screws have the same size? because i lost mine and i'm trying to buy some
My Samsung Galaxy Note 1 wont turn on.Can you make a video "How to fix Samsung Galaxy Note 1 not turning on".Please...
are really good. you know all the screws and instruments in the phone and know exactly what to lift and and how to do things very well
you obviously know your job very well.
Amazing!
Hi there, thanks a lot for the information. I'm trying to fix a gt n7000. The orange connector of the main screen is damaged (little tear). Is there any way I can fix this little part without having to replace the whole screen? thanks in advance for your time!
there's no way to repair a tear, you'll need a new display..
*NEED HELP PLS*
1-My phone doesn't keep time/date/language when I reboot
2-The language goes back to French when I reboot
3-All my apps show the stop error when i make any setting change after reboot
4-Any app that I install after reboot will disappear on the next reboot, except the SU app I installed as zip from sdcard in CWM-based recovery window
5-The phone make sound when I connect to pc but doesn't to ask to chose connection mode, so pc doesn't detect it even though I have USB Debug enabled
6-I did the wipe data/factory reset several times but there's no change when i switch ON the phone even though the wipe data/factory reset was successful.
7-The only button combination that works is the one to go to Download Mode (Volume Down + Home + Power )
8-I can only go to Recovery Mode when I try to factory reset in the phone settings. The phone will restart and take me to Recovery Mode
-Odin is unable to detect the phone.
I just think is the internal storage that is corrupted or something but i can't tell for sure. So please i need ur help on how to fix this problem or if there is any app that i can install as zip from sdcard in CWM that can scan or format or fix this problem
Samsung Galaxy Note N7000ZSLO2
Model Number : SHV-E160S
Still the best!! Thanks to this guys videos, I managed to fix my screen, which at first I thought was impossible to do myself. Bravo!
Awesome video,
I tried to replace the micro usb board recently, because my gt n7000 have charging problem...
It's a new spareparts, and my charging problem was solved, my handheld can charge normaly
But it came with another problem...my loudspeaker won't work after i changed the usb board...
Is it possible that i did some mistake in reassemble the usb board?
Or maybe there's some "treatment" that i should do before reinstall that parts...?
Thanks,,
I got galaxy note n7000 from my cousin with these issues (mic, slow charge and no signal) and he told me that he changed this part( 4:30 in the video ), but doesn't work. He put on a REV0.8 replacement and I think this is the problem. How can I identify the suitable version of this part for my n7000? Thank you in advance
Your video is so very detailed ...it is very much appreciated....gave me the confidence to open up my Note 1... I have a sim card tray problem and I have now managed to remove the damaged tray and ordered a new one from Ebay...Now I have to find someone to help me solder it on to the main board ...unfortunately some of the tiny square solder bits on the board came away because I got a tiny bit impatient....but nothing is damaged ....once someone helps to solder the tray on to the board I will follow the assembly section.....Please accept my sincere THANKS for your GREAT STUFF on you Tube...
Thanks. I used your tutorial to replace the screen of my old Note. Looks like I made a mistake on the way, since the Home button doesn't work anymore now, but that's because I tried to do it too quickly, and I'm confident I will fix it by checking your video more thoroughly. This 2011 phone, thanks to a retired developer on xda, has a fully working 7.1 rom now, and the parts cost next to nothing. Planned obsolescence has lost a battle thanks to you and xda!
hi thanks for the tutorial manage to replace my home button, but upon booting it claims no sim card, despite it being present. im kind of assuming it is the thin antennae cable or something, do you know where i can get a replacement?
Great video, very usefull ! You have very steady hands :)
I recently bricked my Note 1, it just doesn't do anything, basicly dead. I think I need to replace main board. But if I do this will the phone boot up ? Does the new mainboard have android installed ?
Thank you for reply.
Excelent!!! I just disassemble the phone and put a little of alcohol, and blow the switch with a Dust-Off compressed air can and the switch appear to work ok. Thanks a lot from a very happy guy from Costa Rica. Pura Vida!!!
I don't see you mention WIFI antenna, should there be one for GSM and one for WIFI? I am asking this because I just replacement my dead Galaxy Note circuit board with a second hand one from the market. Everything works fine, except WIFI. The control in setting shows gray but not on or off. I tried different rom and they give me the same result. I am thinking if the connection to the WIFI antenna is loose or if the second hand circuit board is bad. Thanks.
Great work and thanks for this. I also notice you have a panasonic sd700. I use the panasonic sd90 but mainly use manual when possible. Do you use agc when recording audio or do you think its better to keep agc audio off. Thanks
This is an amazing video but I would gladly aprreciate a response to my question. I recently replaced my usb board because my charging port wasn't working. After that I can hardly receive calls or make calls, i thought it was my network and changed my sim to another phone and I did not encounter this problem but back to my galaxy N7000, it hardly calls or receives calls and also i lost all my phone coontactts and cannot find it anywhere. Could this be as a result of changing the usb board. And how can i get my contacts back.
Good stuff! If you do not know where the snaps are positioned, it can be murder to open it. With this vid, no problem.. 1 of the 6 SIM card pins turned out to have a dry solder crack. Easily fixed due to this excellent HQ video. Cheers!!
Absolutely superb job, both on the disassembly and the video. Spare parts are easily found on Ebay! I've torn off a SIM contact with an empty nano SIM adapter. It says this can be replaced without soldering!
Thanks for the vid. Helped me exchange the screen on my N7000. However the replaced screen is in all green color. I looked the issue up on the internet, but I have the suspicion it may be due to some connector issue. Have ou any experience regarding such fault? what else could be wrong?
When the screen has more items to display the actual colours seem to bleed through, but the screen is still well green.
thx in advance if you take the time to reply.
Thank you very much! I have a problem with my USB port (I can't recharge the phone!) and now I can easily change this part. Congratulations!
Hello, I have a problem I disassemble samsung galaxy note N7000 to replace the usb port but with the new part does not work the speaker . Is damaged the new part?
my note 1 already dead booth due to wrong firmware can change it with galaxy note shv-160l (korean) board as a replacement? . If yes was there any problem?
wow this is so helpful and please please i need your help am your new subscriber my Galaxy note 1 has audio problem........i can play music using loud speaker but if i make a call i cant hear anything even if i insert my headphones but music plays with headphone
What an impressive job! It is really useful to me, but now I can't justify buying a new smartphone!
Seriously, thanks!
Very informative video. If my phone housing doesn't have the antenna at the top left side of the video (at 3:15), will it prevent the phone from detecting WiFi networks? Is it possible to create my own antenna?
Heyy mate you probably won’t reply on this but do you have any idea where the internal storage is?
Just realised my old phone not functioning and there is a lot of memories inside the phone🥺🥺
Awesome video.... I have used it to replace the I717 Charging Port. I'm having one issue though. After putting it all back together and booting it up I now notice that I have less bars and sometimes get a "G" connection or the circle with a line through it. I just got back from AT&T and they replaced the SIM card which helped but still crappy reception . Any idea on what I could have done? I did remove main board because you could get to the charging port better due to its tape. Thanks!
Thank you so much for putting this video up my micro usb input for my Note stopped working a few months ago so I couldn't charge my phone so I have to take my battery out to charge it witch is annoying I was going to buy a spare battery till I got it repaired after seeing this am doing it myself instead of paying £60 I can buy the part for a few quid online never realised just how easy it is to replace thank you, you have saved me a lot of money and hassle great video.
Hey awesome video but i have a question and if you an answer it would be really helpful!
so i recently broke my note 1's sim card reader by getting a microsim adapter stuck in it! I took it to some crappy cell phone repair place and they replaced the whole reading trey but said it still wouldnt work. they explained it was attached to the motherboard and something else was wrong. So in order to fix it would i have to completely change my motherboard or is there something else that i can do?
Thanks for the video. I have a black and purple line showing up in the stock camera app and in picture. (Top left corner in portrait and landscape modes, black half circle line then purple line) The black line could be the edge of the lens, not sure. If I zoom in the lines do not show up in the pictures. I tried a scratch remover on the outer lens cover but it didn't help. I'm not sure what is causing the lines. Would replacing the lens cover help? Or replace the entire camera lens and cover?
Changed a broken LCD. This vid was the pick of the bunch. He does make it sound easy. It's not but take your time and you'll get there.
great video mate. ive followed this as i changed the screen and micro usb port and helped me a lot. mainly because it shows me where everything goes back together if i forgot lol. thanks and keep up good work :)
anybody know if the usb port is a universal part or specific for the phone? also, where can i get one? thanks
(i am aware this is very old but im still using the phone so...)
Great instructional vid, thank you . I can resurrect my old N7000 now, it hads been dead for a few years now but still charges and comes to life.
This is a fantastic video, well filmed and excellent quality, very easy to follow.
Hello.
I have a problem whit my rear camera cover. It's very scratch, and now photo quality is much lower than before and every picture is little foggy.
My question is: Can I replace just this camera cover without disasssemble this rear phone cover?
Thank you
Great video, thanks. Just one question. Is it possible for you to us show a video on how to replace the outer glass of the G Note. Not the complete LCD(digitizer). I bought me the outer glass on e-bay. My lcd is fine of my Note. I just want to replace the outer glass lens. thanks in advance
Hey mate, my outer screen glass cracked on galaxy n7000, and display is fine, is it possible to replace it easily or?
hi! thank you so much! very useful video! easy to follow every step! I was able to replace the display! perfect!!! thanxx!!! :)
Hey can you please help me too? There are many but I need to know which brand is good for buying usb port. If you have the link please drop it in reply.
I pulled them up a hair as suggested and I still get a crappy connection, it still isn't like before I changed the charging port. Could it be the speaker module? I thought it had the antenna in it. Thanks for the super fast reply! Your thoughts?
i only need to replace the lens cover on my note2 as it has cracked. it might be easier if i buy the whole back cover and just replace that.
where would you suggest me getting it from?
Thanks for this. Just replaced my motherboard and my phone is now working. Given you a thumbs up if it helps!
Thank You! This Video helped me!
I dropped my phone and my screen cracked but everything else works fine. For a DIY repair will I just need a glass lens or more?
Hi, I broke the LCD flex cable when I open the case. Is it possible to just replace the cable rather than the whole screen? Thanks in advance.
I will have to replace the camera, the lines showed up without the rear cover on. Will I have to remove the speaker, USB, and front facing camera to remove the motherboard and make the repair?? I hope not!! Thanks again.
an absolutely great vid. I hope to hell I never have to do this, but if I do, yours is the vid I'll use. thanks

i wonder how the camera is setup in this
since i would like to make video's like this aswell
are u using a tripod ?
absolutely excellent video clear and concise explanation of everything. a baby could do this after watching this guy well done mate.
Hi I just wondering about the separation of the glass from the frame, what I could see is a hot air gun, however I couldnt see that you are applying directly to the glass screen.
My front camera isn't working due to carelessy dropping it. Everything else seems fine just not the front camera :c
Is their any way you can help me resolve my problem on my note 1? The phone works ok its only when I make or recieve calls icant hear or speak to the other person iv tried hard reseting and delelting evrything from phone but nothing works iv even taken mother board out to put in to another note 1 shell but still no good, theirs no water damage to it .can you help pls?
Check your receiver speaker in case it needs replacing and BTW it's not note 1 . The proper term is N7000
Nice clear video. Just wanted to ask if there was any way of replacing the power on/off switch, or does it involve soldering ?
Hi,
Thanks for the video!
My phone Galaxy note 1 ha s turned off definitely!
What can i do to repare it please?
This was a great tear down video. Good explanations as you went. Good methodical pace. I repair phones and appreciate this video.

Hi buddy, i´m in a similar situation, but in my case the display is broken, the Glass is fine. Could i replace the entire part better?
Does anyone know where I can find the replacement rear camera for the i717?? Does it use the same part as the n7000?? Thanks
Absolutely brilliant video...need to replace overused usb port...it is so simple....I can diy it :)
This is the BEST tutorial that I have ever come across on You Tube...thank you very much...
Hello LE55ONS!!
Accidentally I dropped my Note 1 in a bucket full of water but I was lucky enough to take it out and dry it from outside. Now the phone is getting charged, speakers are working & I can also receive calls. The only challenge I am facing is with the touch screen part ;( The touch wont work!!! I have been asked to replace the entire display to get this issue fixed...I am not too techy..So could you please let me know if this is the only option as I don’t want to spend on the display if I can get this issue fixed by doing something with the touch pad? Thanks!!
unfortunately it seems to be a common problem after water has made contact with the digitizer chip. There is a small chance a new screen also might not work but its worth a try
Super camera action and clear explanation!
Items in this video may be smaller in real life :) :)
one of the golden taps that connect my power button and volume button is torn and now my smart phone won't turn on what do u suggest me to do ?
if my screen cracked all along the screen, How do i change the screen only? with S pen ribbon attached
