  • Restoration of a Corgi Toys Citroen DS 19 showing strip down, paint and re-assembly.
The Citroën DS is a front mid-engined, front-wheel drive executive car manufactured and marketed by Citroën from 1955 to 1975, in fastback/sedan, wagon/estate, and convertible body configurations, across three series of one generation. Marketed with a less expensive variant, the Citroën ID, the DS was known for its aerodynamic, futuristic body design; unorthodox, quirky, and innovative technology, and it set new standards in ride quality, handling, and braking, thanks to both being the first mass production car equipped with hydropneumatic suspension, as well as disc brakes. The 1967 series 3 also introduced directional headlights to a mass-produced car.
Please Note: Apologies for the sound and visual quality of this footage. This is one of my earlier videos using an inferior camera and editing software that was published on my other channel. Due to a lack of views I decided to download, edit, enhance and re brand this video for this channel. Thanks Kev

Classic period colours - ivory and blue - and much, much better than the Corgi colours. Looks like a car now, not a toy! I find on those old Corgi rims, a 2000 grade sanding stick works wonders on cleaning things up to a mirror finish. Really nice result - if that was 1:1, I'd be putting in a bid! It was a bonkers car in its day!

Thanks again Fraser, unfortunately I don't rate this video, neither the restoration, yet it has become my most watched video..
