This has always been one of my favorite Pink Floyd songs, and guitar work. I think also his lap steel slide playing and ear lends to his phrasing and approach with these lead lines in a big way.
Jeff Beck's death hit me like a ton of bricks! Very sad day around here. The master of the classic 30 second solo has gone to the Great Beyond, and I miss him fiercely!!
Three things 🙂. Firstly, I learnt that using the whammy bar could be what I need to reattempt this solo, I normally take them off my guitars - got enough to worry about😅. I've been put off by the three fret bends until now, but maybe this is the way. Secondly, I really like it when you add the structure to the notes being taught: telling us that we've gone from one pentatonic form to another, or from F# to F# etc. It allows us to anchor the notes. And thirdly, keep the beard 🙂👍. Might become a reminder of the late, great David Crosby.
Super Excellent my friend - love your content and lessons! I have played for quite a few years and have had to relearn some things after watching you! Thanks so much for what you do!!
Great move on the vib-bar to get the extra half step, in tune, damn!! Those of us only with a Bigsby can benefit from a softer spring - Duesenberg make one. The step zoom on the Maj7 bit, funny. I learn new things each episode. 🤨
Great idea for solos! Are you gonna do one on Hotel California? It would only need to be about 5 seconds long and the Henley legal team will be in touch.😊
yeah true. though i wonder if it is broken up into parts then it may get through. i think the AI looks for matching melody sustained over a period of time, if I took the first 20 secs, played through/talked about that, then moved to next section, it may be ok.
I would like to hear you run through that with a backing track if it wouldn't get blocked. I know, just listen to the recording... Appreciate the content.
Gilmore definitely grabbed my attention back then cost a young mans fortune acquiring gear to copy his licks mostly an echo plex and true delay had a couple fuzz units big muff lil muff fuzzface but as i remember the echo plex was a tad over 1k mine was a store demo i got for 650.00 i worked and taught guitar part time in a small shop mainly for the store discounts 😆 student money after studio rental wasnt bad either
Gilmour's strength has always been in his phrasing, he is one of the best all time at creating a mood with minimal notes. 🤘😎🏍🎸
Sounds great idea
I’m ticking away the moments that make up this dull day.

Gilmour is so subtle with the combination of whammy and bending. Truly a pro. Thanks for the lesson!

fantastic, many thanks.
Thanks for the great lesson. I also use the Catalinbread Echorec pedal. Do you remember which program select number you used on it?
it was program 7, delay time about 1 o'clock, swell at 10 o'clock tone straight up and mix about 10 o'clock
Thank you for the reply.
Great stuff once again man.! Thanks..And I think you should keep the beard..👍🏼
Always have felt this solo is better than Comfortably Numb

Play it from memory with no backing track...
