That was really cool, thanks Adrian. Did make me want to go out and get a good filter system for my well though, even though I've known all along I'm drinking water out of a hole in the ground. Clean looking rock though. They're not really dead straight down, are they? Well bore holes that is. Don't know why I expected them to be. I'm sure your bit must wander a little even though it's on some pretty hefty steel shafting. Even that flexes a bit when you're drilling that far I suppose. Thanks for the view, years in building and I've never had a look down one. Fascinating.
I use to drill oil wells, some were 16,000 feet deep. You should see them with a camera. That was in the early 70's and we could only see a little farther than your shots. You could see all the different formations that was very clear till we started getting really deep. We just did not have the technologies of today. One point I want to make was the wells we drilled all were straight down and did not screw up any water tables. No horizontal drilling, we need to all make a stand against it before there is no clean water anywhere. Thanks for the picture's.
Does anyone know what makes the surface of the water ripple? It looks quite deep I'm just wondering what force ripples the water... I was thinking it might be debris fallin from the camera hitting the wall of the bore.
How did you illuminate (light the way) for the camera? Did you run a siamese cable up to the surface to a monitor/recorder or camcorder? I'm very interested in the equipment you used as I drill wells in Mexico and we've had a few problems. I've used a security camera (in water proof housing) with infrared but visibility in water was poor. Infrared doesn't work well in water. Thanks for any help you can give. David
adam co If the water pressure wouldn't kill me and I could get into a boat or submarine type thing. But yes with those safeties in place I would. Get an military aircraft carrier on a "tiger cruise" and they will have a swim day or two. People jump off the aircraft elevators and swim in the ocean. It's pretty high up. I know a guy from the air wing/air department that jumped from the flight deck to save someone that was blown off the flight deck. Bill Williams I think was his name.
We can't do this more than 800-900 feet, Because there's many hard rocks , these rocks are very strong and hard a drilling machine is unable to go through them
What was the second water layer? At first it looked like a drop of mercury, but then when you kept going it was foggy but still viewable. Salt Water? Thermocline layer? That was amazingly reflective for a water separation.
SHcinema I literally just saw that your comment was a year ago as soon as I hit comment. So, sorry bout the super delayed response. Just in case you still care (which is obvious you do *wink *) The " shiny ,reflective layer" is not water ; just as you said. More than likely it is natural gas/methane That is mixed with H2o naturally. Quite a lot of liquid gas(sounds like an oxymoron but nope) has that effect
Whtats to keep the sides from caving in? Also, my well has hard water from day one 16 years ago. Will a well ever clear itself out from heavy iron deposits? We have a $5000 system to purify our water(salt system).
*High quality camera work for a decade old video, almost 12 years.* 🙏

Nice video but how much deep is that ?
Hopefully u will reach other side of the world, how deep is this?
The hole seems really crooked. Will the pipe be able to go all the way to the bottom?
Minecraft taught me to never dig straight down, this guy is brave!
How deep did you go? I saw the casing bottom out at what I guess was 100' so I'm guessing you were able to reach 600 - 800 ft deep?
I don't think so.. must be around 200 feet 🤔
@rudis323 7.6 miles, and that pipe is clogged. It is in Russia, and the temperatures at the bottom reach more than 400 degrees Fahrenheit.
No only 356
Why the dislikes? What did you expect? This is interesting and educational.
How did u dig that deep is my question ?
By drilling machine
What is depth and how rope did you use
no screen needed?.. what's your static level and well depth there?
Was it for flood ?
How far did y'all have to drill? I understand a little bit as I have drilled Wells before in Nebraska and Kansas.
What does it look like way down?
@LAYDEEYASMIN What time in the vid do you see a white shiny thing?
