Did you love iCarly? Then you’ll love this news - an iCarly reboot is in the works over at Paramount Plus, and features the original iCarly cast. However, there’s a major exception - it doesn’t seem like Jennette McCurdy (Sam Puckett) is set to feature in the reboot! The show was originally on Nickelodeon, and was created by Dan Schneider. Not only was it successful, but it sparked a spinoff - Sam and Cat, featuring Jennette and Ariana Grande. So it’s really surprising that McCurdy, who’s been in the Pet movie trailer and was also in Between, might not feature for the iCarly new season!
But before we get down in the dumps about Sam, let’s focus on the good news - the rest of the iCarly cast now is going to in the iCarly revival - that includes Nathan Kress (Freddie Benson), Jerry Trainor (Spencer Shay) and Noah Munck (as Gibby). But of course, no iCarly reboot could happen without #iCarly herself, Carly Shay (played by Miranda Cosgrove). She may have made her claim to fame via School of Rock and Drake and Josh, but since then, this actress has gone on to voice a character in Despicable Me, and is about to become famous once more as she reprises her role as Carly. @@hanindhira It's interesting that none of the Victorious cast has ever said anything bad. On the contrary, they all praise him and the Victorious experience. No one really suffered trauma, according to them. & they did a mini-reunion on zoom last April and they were all happy to be there.

A LOT of his victims and child actors have quit acting altogether because their time with him was that traumatic. This happened with Jeanette McCurdy, Amanda Bynes, Alexa Nikola, Kristin Herrera, Jamie Lynn Spears, and more. I really cannot wait until all of this gets put into the light. I thought Jamie Lynn Spears was because she got pregnant near the end of her show, and the drama surrounding her with who and how they didn't wanna feature a pregnant teen on nickelodeon ? I didn't know if there was ever more behind the scenes going on with that show nad the producers or not.
I’m pretty Jamie Lynn quit because she got pregnant. She’s back and has done a little acting (steel Magnolias on Netflix), but I think she’s mostly doing music now.

If she did get paid more, it was probably because she was more famous at the time and that’s how Hollywood works. The more famous you are, the more attention and fans you bring to the show, so then you earn more. Besides, Jeannette was always hanging around Dan Schneider behind the scenes. If anyone was his favorite, it was Jeanette.

At the time Sam & Cat was airing, Ariana had one album under her belt and a new one about to drop and was collaborating with the likes of Mac Miller, Jessie J, Nicki Minaj, Iggy Azalea... I’m sure her own team’s negotiations had something to do with the bigger salary, but I don’t think the Nick producers/execs would be hesitating all that much even if she and Jennette had equal billing.
In regards to Dan... honestly, I think Ariana, at that time, was his favorite. Pedophiles, especially in a position like his, have a tendency to fixate on and groom one person to be their “pet,” but will often get bored rather quickly and move on to someone else, or they will begin to hone in on their next victim if they’re in any way disappointed with their “star pupil.” Miranda Cosgrove was groomed to be the bigger star of iCarly, but when Jennette wound up being the scene stealer, she became his favorite. Victoria Justice was groomed to be the star of Victorious, Ariana wound up being the breakout star, so she became his favorite. He put his two favorites on one show, but as Ariana was getting more mainstream work outside of the network, she was his favorite. Dan was constantly pitting his underage actresses against one another for his own amusement and I think Jennette was sick of it, and I think there was an extra level of disgust once she realized what he was and what he had done to her, Amanda, Jamie, etc.

we all know that Jennette CARRIED that show with her meme behaviour and things like the butter sock. But her mental health is more important! we all know how strange and creepy the producer of that show and other Nickelodeon hits was, we as viewers didn't see that. I cant imagine what that went thru. Her not wanting to come back is completely understandable and I hope no-one gives her hate for it

First of all I didn’t know I Carly was getting back up and was happy till I heard jennet wouldn’t be there sense she was my favorite character and I always adored her acting, definitely my top nick celebrity I would of liked to meet even if it was just once and only for a moment.

Despite all the unnecessary hardships/abuse the actors had to endure while filming iCarly, they somehow managed to do a fabulous job at capturing kids and parents love for the show over the six seasons it aired on Nickelodeon. I respect Janette's decision to not reprise her role as Sam. Her character will surely be missed, and I will fully support the other actors on the reboot. I hope they can do it justice...no, I know they can!

We see it so often with spin off shows and spin offs, Sam May still come back for an Episode or two later on.
