In my humble opinion, Lara is simply THE best female singer in the world. Her capacity to connect the lyrics with music perfectly AND perfectly transmit the emotion of every single word is just amazing. That, and the INCREDIBLE control of her muscles, right up to her vocal muscles, is simply unique. VERY few singers have that level of absolute control over their voices, the stage, AND know how to emerge the audience in the whole experience. I will stop now, because I can just go on for hours.
Welcome to the fabulous world of the best female performer of this centuty, this is her song, wrote the lyrics as been covered by so many signers. She is the Goat and still very active in a new world Tour. She speaks 4 language (fluently) and sings in 12, she is also Dimash idol, the same with the new generations of new singers, the best rabbit hole of all youtube
Have been a serious fan of Miss Fabian for many years. One of the world's greatest hidden treasures. Je suis Malade is a masterpiece that should be unearthed and shared with the world. Also, Caruso is a gem who se sparkle may blind you.
Thanks, @scottsanders9090! I'm quickly becoming a fan of Lara Fabian too. It sounds like “Je suis Malade” and “Caruso” are must-listens. Can't wait to experience these tracks and see what makes them so special. Really appreciate the recommendation! 🙏🏾😀
More information on Lara Fabian: Lara is recognized as one of the best vocalist ever seen on earth and all professionals list her in the top vocalist tier with Barbra, Whitney, Mariah, Celine, Aretha, Shirley Bassey, Lisa Fischer, .... In my personal opinion, she is even the best. There are a few vocal characteristics that are her signature: her famous resonance for instance that allows her to sing acapella without mic in venues with 10,000+ attendees. Her nickname in the singing world is "the ring" due to this. I would also list her amazing phrasing, breath management and her pleasant tone even when belting in her upper register. So she is one of the best vocalist ever, but on top of that, she adds a few things that make her an absolute package with no equivalence: • she speaks 2 languages natively (french, italian), and 2 others fluently (english, spanish), can speak a bit of dutch (and sicilian), and understand quite well russian and portuguese. She has sung in 12 languages in total • she is an amazing songwriter and wrote lyrics for 200+ songs, in the 4 languages she speaks fluently. She often co-composes the music, and is at the source of the melodic line. • she acts and performs on stage as nobody else, she colors and reveals the meaning of every single word in the songs, and her ability to emote, to draw you in is second to none • she is the sweetest soul on earth, very humble, down to earth and benevolent. She likes to meet others, and her fans are always pleasantly surprised when this happens. A quick background on her and her career: She is belgian, her father is flemish and grand mother on father side is dutch, but she also has italian roots (her mother is from sicilia) and American roots ( the father of her mother is from Detroit). She had been raised in Sicilia first for 7 years then in Belgium so she speaks both italian and french as native languages. She has been classically trained on vocal, piano and songs composition for 10 years ( from 8 to 18) in the Brussels Royal Conservatory. She is still having vocal lessons and training several times a week today. She only moved away from opera to pop because she is first and foremost a songwriter. After her Eurovision participation in 1988 (4th), she really started her career in Canada in the early 90s, more precisely in Quebec, the french-speaking part of Canada. She had been living for years in Montreal and has also Canadian citizenship. She moved to Sicilia end of 2022. She became very famous in Quebec in the early 90s with several double platine records and then conquered France in 1996/1997 (she topped charts there and some of her songs such as "Je t'aime" or "Tout" became classics of the french music). In 2000, she was about to penetrate the US Market, with a lot of media initial interest. Her first english song (I will love again), a pop dance song, stayed number one on the US Billboard Hot Dance Club Play chart for 58 weeks in a row and was number 32 on the Billboard Hot 100. Her Album ("Lara Fabian") was about to become a massive hit, and the concert "From Lara With Love" was recorded to be broadcasted everywhere in the US. This concert is legendary, packed with masterpieces (covered by many great vocalists later on). But a dispute with Sony on artistry directions, and the will from Celine Dion's staff to block her progress in the US, completely broke this plan. She thus refocused back on Europe and made huge success there, extending her reach to Eastern Europe and Central Asia where she became an absolute superstar through her collaboration with Igor Krutoy during several years. She is absolutely massive in Russia for instance. She is also a star in Brazil as her song "Love By Grace", used as the soundtrack for a very famous soap opera, topped the charts for months and become a recurrent in the local singing contests since then. Many of her songs became classics and were covered by the other singing legends: Barbra Streisand, Shirley Bassey, Josh Groban (they are friends and he told she is a role model for him), Linda Eder, … With her success in Europe, Brazil and part of Asia, she is the inspiration of the new generation of vocalists: most of them are coming from there. Thru their covers of Lara Fabian songs, USA and many other countries are now rediscovering her. She is Dimash's idol: • I’ve read somewhere that, when he was a child, he was listening her songs every night to get asleep. • He covered many of her songs, most of these were composed by Igor Krutoy and written by by Lara. Out of my mind I can list: ○ Adagio (She wrote it and is the original performer), ○ Mademoiselle Hyde (she wrote it and is the original performer), ○ Love of Tired Swans (she wrote the song in French under the title "Je t'aime encore" and was the original performer of the french then the russian versions, Dimash covered the russian version) ○ Ascolta La Voce / Vocalize (this was a pure vocalization and she was the original performer, then lyrics were added for Dimash and it was rebranded as "Know") • She also wrote the lyrics of Dimash's song "Your Love". • And she covered "Love is like a dream" before him (song from Igor Krutoy originally performed by Alla Pugacheva). • Finally, they also performed "Ti Amo Cosi" together, in trio with Aida Garafulina: this is a song that she performed originally with Dmitri Hvorostovsky and Sumi Jo then again later with Dmitri and Alina Yarovaya, before this new trio with Dimash and Aida. Dimash is now also working with Igor Krutoy: Igor and Dimash connected after his Adagio cover, also endorsed by Lara. Igor came back from retirement and composed severals songs for him after it. Many other top vocalists from the current generation covered her songs, some have Lara as a role model and big inspiration (singers from every region in the world: from China and Taiwan, to Philippines, Indonesia, Russia, Kazakhstan, Armenia, Bulgaria, Turkey, Netherlands, Greece, Israel, Lebanon, Italy, France, Belgium, Norway, UK, USA, Canada, Brazil, Australia, Central Africa, …) ○ Floor Jansen (Adagio), ○ Polina Gagarina (Adagio, Je t’aime), ○ Diana Ankudinova (Tomorrow is a lie), ○ Morissette Amon (Broken Vow), ○ Gabriel Henrique (Love by Grace), ○ Cakra Khan (Broken Vow), ○ Charice Penpengco (Adagio), ○ Katrina Velarde (Broken Vow), ○ Regine Velasquez (Broken Vow), ○ Dmitri Hvorostovsky (Adagio), ○ Giulia Falcone (Adagio, Caruso, Je suis malade, Je t'aime), ○ Forestella (Je suis Malade), ○ Almira (from 4th Impact band) (Broken Vow), ○ Gigi de Lana (Broken Vow) ○ Julie Anne san Jose (Adagio, Broken Vow), ○ Rimar ( Adagio, Broken Vow, Know), ○ Il Divo (Adagio) ○ Daria Bentsa (I guess I loved you), ○ Sarah Geronimo (Broken Vow) ○ Laura Bretan ( Adagio, Caruso), ○ Jackie Evancho (Je t’aime, Caruso and Broken Vow, BV rewritten as « Imaginer » by Lara for Jackie), ○ Harrison Craig (Broken Vow), ○ Amir (Je t’aime), ○ Pauline Aguirre (Adagio)), ○ George Peris (Broken Vow, Humana), ○ Vitas (Adagio), ○ Wanessa Camargo (Love by Grace), ○ Anastasia Luna (Adagio), ○ Jeck (Je T’Aime), ○ Evgenia Fanfara (Adagio), ○ Anne Sila (pas sans toi, Tu es mon autre), ○ The Canadian Tenors (Adagio), ○ Anna Eriksson (Je suis malade), ○ Choi Sung Hoon (Je suis malade), ○ Soprano Turetsky band (Adagio), ○ Sarah Naura Irbah (Mademoiselle Hyde), ○ Elisabetta Rinaldi (Adagio), ○ Alyona Yarushina (Adagio), ○ Marie Payet (Pas sans toi), ○ Laurh (Immortelle), ○ Inger Lise Hope (Adagio), ○ Håkon Sønsterud Tollefsrød (Broken Vow), ○ Flora Tandi (Bambina), ○ Cindy Chao (Yeliel My Angel), ○ Majda Roumi (Adagio), ○ Abraham Mateo (Adagio), ○ Petra Berger (Adagio, Broken Vow), ○ Russel Watson (Adagio), ○ Katerina Maslova (Je t’aime, I guess I loved you) ○ Annointed (Love by Grace), ○ Sevara Nazarkhan (Je t’aime) ○ .... NB: Lara did cover Caruso , Je suis malade, and Love by grace, these are not her originals, but I mention these here as the related artists were attracted to cover it again after listening to Lara’s version. Today, Lara still has an amazing voice and tone and can still reach the 5th octave with resonance ; she still offers these emotive renditions that are her unique signature. In June 2022, she kicked off a WW tour and stunned her fans once again with 5 magical concerts in Canada. She completed the europe part in September/October and I attended a concert from this tour. It was packed and she was again spectacular. On April, May, June 2023 she had again some wonderful concerts in Tbilissi, Georgia, then in Ouzbekhistan, Kazakhstan, Romania. She is about to release a new album and just kicked off another tour in eastern europe (Czech Republic, Moldavia, Croatia, Romania, Bulgaria, Turkiye), then will visit several locations in Canada in june 2024 and, after some rest and a few TV Shows, France in 2025. The first song of the new album (titled "Ta Peine" - Your Sorrow) was released late January 2024 and is a success in France. She is currently one of the concert tickets top sellers in France, Eastern Europe and Canada. New dates are being added to her tour. Sorry if I was long, but I hope this gives some context on Lara.
Je suis fan de cette chanteuse et aussi de la femme qu'elle est 😍. Lorsqu'elle entreprend quelque chose, elle le fait à fond 😊. Elle chante avec sa voix, son corps et son âme 🎤🎶. A+ 💞
Adagio is an italian word, that means "Slowly". This is also used in music to define the pace of a music (a bit slow, between lento and andante) and also as a name of a piece of a sonata, concerto or symphony that is using that specific pace. The music from this song of Lara Fabian is a pop translation of an italian classic piece called "Albinoni's Adagio". It was written in 1958 by Remo Giazotto who was an admirer of Albinoni, a musician from the 17th/18th century. He claimed it was from him and gave his music this name but there is consensus today that he most probably has composed it himself. The classic music piece is globally famous and there were many different translations into different songs, with different music compositions, mostly operatic, and different lyrics (the band Renaissance, Daniele Licari, Sarah Brightman and Sissel Kyrkjebo for instance). But the most famous version, by far, is Lara’s version: it was translated into a pop song for her, she wrote lyrics in italian then co-wrote the english lyrics for it and is the original performer of these 2 versions. She kept the title Adagio and wrote a story with a double meaning: a woman that is awaiting to find her love / an artist that is awaiting the god of inspiration. This song has become a classic and has been covered by many : Shirley Bassey (!!), Dimash (Lara is his absolute idol and he covered several of her songs), Floor Jansen, Polina Gagarina, Dmitri Hvorostovsky, Julie Anne San Jose, Charice Penpengco, Giulia Falcone, Laura Bretan, Il Divo, Rimar, Vitas, Anastasia Luna, Evgenia Fanfara, , … They made great covers but none of these match the amazing storytelling performance of Lara, or her ability to use vocal subtleties to be in sync with the music, exposed in her live from the concert From Lara with Love. th-cam.com/video/bqoS-KOLV_4/w-d-xo.html Her italian version is also amazing. A famous italian version: th-cam.com/video/qf7xcMN-TYI/w-d-xo.html Or you can check her recent excellent renditions: - in Paris early october 2022 th-cam.com/video/BulgxI-8zj4/w-d-xo.html - In Tbilissi Georgia in april 2023 th-cam.com/video/RMT04_mX4dE/w-d-xo.htmlsi=jzIpgs_LdgX1ZjSV
Seeing a presentation of her is one of the human rights. It's one of the best. The world deserves to enjoy artists like her; an example of humility, gentleness, and talent
Lara has the dynamic strength and the clarity of voice which comes from singing in several languages entirely fluently. Her Belgian French father and her Italian mother brought up Lara in a biligual home. On moving to Québec, she gained fluency in English too.
Lara is the Queen. Any song from this concert is as close to perfection as a singer can be. You may also want to react to Lara's Yentl Medley or perhaps a song she wrote and performed for the opening of the 2011 Winter Games called " Always". There are so many but those are a start.
Awesome reaction/analysis. You may be ready for her take on "Caruso" or "Je suis malade" from the same concert ("From Lara With Love - 1999"). Vocal masterclasses that top even this one.
It's unreal, unbelievable performance..... it's constancy and clarity. The last minute is of an intensity I've never seen before 😍💘 The most beautiful voice I've heard since I started listening to music
It truly is an outstanding performance. She literally takes you by the hand and guides you through the journey of the song. Her vocal techniques and storytelling are masterful. Just beautiful! I'm glad you enjoyed it! 💕😀
Wow, wow, wow!!!...Finally my friend Collena!!!....We have been waiting for your first reaction to The Goddess Lara Fabian since a long, long and long time!!!...Lol!!!..🥰...Thank you for accepting our suggestions so that you could finally meet her...As we have already mentioned before, Lara is not only Dimash's idol, but she is also an inspiration for other extraordinary singers around the world...Even you already know to several of them, like Morissette, Diana and Gigi....So get ready to see only incredible performances with her...But remember: Always watch Lara singing live, because she is the one who best transmits emotions and catches you immediately!....Welcome to this journey of no return with Lara....A big hug for you!!!
She is one of Dimash idols and probably his main inspiration since he is a child. He covered this song and a few others from her. She even wrote lyrics for his song Your Love. She is on tour currently, performing right now, as I speak, in Bucharest. Still with the same stunning voice and interpretation 24 years later. On May 9th, she will perform once more at Royal Albert Hall, London, but this time as a guest in Hauser’s concert. Another guest will be Aida Garafulina. Aida, Lara and Dimash sang Ti Amo Cosi in trio and it is amazing.
You seem quite exhausted😊 after listening to this truly great and beautiful artist in the form of LARA FABIAN. What an amazing singer and stunning performer. A true master vocalist. You, too, Connela, have given so much information in terms of how Lara controls and keeps that control throughout...completely living the story. She kept her audience in total awe every step of the way. Don't you and I wish we could have been there or get an opportunity to see her live even just once. Thank you for your (always) very engaging reaction. I really love it.❤
Thanks a lot! @gregoryjamessnayer7271 Lara really is something else, isn't she? Watching her perform is like being in another world. 😀 I bet seeing her live is an unforgettable experience. Really appreciate your kind words-I’m glad you liked the reaction! Thanks! 🙏🏾💕
I'm back. I just couldn't help myself listening again to this reaction. You are so passionate about what you do here - reacting to singers/vocalists. Yes, obviously the singer is who you listen to and to whose delivery thereof you apply your knowledge. It is precisely this - you knowledge and insight that is so very attracting. There's no struggle to find the word to pinpoint what you hear. Your thoughts put into words just flow naturally, honestly and uttered crystal clear. Also, where and when you stop I find so appropriate, it doesn't bother me...because you do it in a, I would say, perfectly professional manner. Now that I have never to any reactor to date. Furthermore, in this entire reaction as in all your reactions I have listened to, you yourself are totally immersed into the happenings of the song and the what the performer is doing. So, I thought I want to just get this off my chest and I will not waver one inch on this matter. Please, do yourself a favor. Check out Lara's performance in 2003 of "Je suis malade". I would like to see you react to it. There's also the one in 2000, which perhaps you should to first before doing the 2003 version, the latter being the first and only of its kind... Thank you so much for all your reactions. ❤
Gracias!
Thank you so much, @alexandermadrigal1540! It's wonderful to connect with fans from around the globe right from here in London. Lara Fabian’s talent truly is remarkable, and her voice is absolutely soul-stirring. I appreciate your warm words and the greetings from Costa Rica! 💕😀 Muchas gracias, @alexandermadrigal1540! Es maravilloso conectar con aficionados de todo el mundo desde aquí en Londres. El talento de Lara Fabian realmente es destacable, y su voz es absolutamente conmovedora. ¡Aprecio tus cálidas palabras y los saludos desde Costa Rica! 😀💕
Thank you for your reaction vid, this a great start to the world of Lara❤ “Je suis malade “ (French) “Perdere l’amore” (Italian) “Lyubov pokhoshaya na son” (Russian) and “Llora” (Spanish) will serve as a great multilingual introduction to this amazingly talented woman! We❤ our Lara!!
Thanks, @xerezjg52! Really looking forward to checking out more of Lara’s songs, especially those you've mentioned in different languages. It’s impressive how she brings something special to each one. Excited to hear and react to these! Thanks for the great suggestions! 🎶💕😀
You will not find any performance by Lara that is less than supreme top notch. You may already know that she is an inspiration for Dimash. This performance is from a concert in Montreal and there are several other songs from that concert that are stellar. Another spectacular Canadian singer (Moroccan born, Lara is Belgium born Canadian) is Faouzia. I don't think you'd be disappointed. She just released a live performance of her Fur Elise. She writes most of her own songs but also some covers including a beautiful version of Sting's Desert Rose, singing both parts.
She is the real beast live. Her performances from the same concert as this song are insane! "Je Suis Malade" in French --> th-cam.com/video/eHSyk4SGtuY/w-d-xo.html "You're not from here" --> th-cam.com/video/Vv8XFXKXRLI/w-d-xo.html "Perdere l'Amore" in Italian --> th-cam.com/video/mcmhCfH9OfQ/w-d-xo.html "Caruso" --> th-cam.com/video/BP2KnLemT78/w-d-xo.html "Quédate" in Spanish --> th-cam.com/video/cX0CPdBV75E/w-d-xo.html
Eric. Where are you - you're slacking! 😀You need to send her all the info and recommendations as you're the most knowledgeable person about Lara! She is an excellent reactor! Greetings from London 😀
@ericsicard910 I had bought a ticket but can't go as i will still be in Bucharest. Can't wait to see her - so excited! Then a few days later i'm going to see Dimash also in Bucharest. My two favourite singers. I listen to both of them every day without fail - morning and evening! Never ever missed a day 😀
Lara, Celine and Barbra all have elements of each other in their vocals. It’s like the perfect singer with all 3 dynamics going on. She even moves like Celine, which is not one of my favourite things lol.
Lara wrote the lyrics on this old classic music composition""adagio"" in English and in Italian. Lara writes the lyrics of more her songs in more then one language. In French, English, Italian or Spanish. Also Lara sings and records those songs in different languages, switches without effort and sings some of then half English half French. I like more the Italian version of Agagio . Italian is an more colored language. Lara's versions of ADAGIO in English and Italian are many times covered by great singers .

Lara is Dimash's idol! Dimash has performed with Lara and has sung several of her songs - Adagio being one of them. If you continue reacting to Lara, Eric Sicard (the resident expert on everything Lara Fabian) will provide you with an encyclopedia of data related to Lara.

Will you please react to Lara Fabian & Mario Frangoulis cover of Cole Porters So in Love from Kiss Me Kate? I would love to see your thoughts. Mario also have an amazing voice and is classically trained and has a beautiful cover of Knights in White Satin in Italian! Also to hear Lara Fabian's lyrical soprano side you need to listen to La Traviata!
Adagio Instrumental dates back as early as 1685. Adagio has a small number of changes primarily key changes. It was played during Opera breaks. Lara was approached to write lyrics for this Italian Classic??? Eventually she agreed & wrote lyrics in English & Italian master piece. She speaks in 7 Languages & sings in 12 Languages. There is a TH-cam video with brief clips of her singing in the 12 Languages. She considers Italian her mother tongue. ❤️ from Florida, Timothy 🌞🌴
Thanks for the info, @timothyblack3322! It's really cool to learn about the origins of "Adagio" and how Lara Fabian added her touch by writing lyrics in English and Italian. Her ability to speak seven languages and sing in twelve is impressive! I’ll be sure to check out that video to hear her sing in all those languages. Thanks again from here to Florida! 🌞 🙏🏾😀
@@voicesavvy and she wrote 200+ songs in 4 of these languages that have been covered by the greatests: Shirley Bassey , Barbra Streisand, Josh Groban, Dmitri Hvorostovsky, … and now Dimash, Diana Ankudinova, Gabriel Henrique, Morissette Amon, Cakra Khan, …). Adagio was for instance covered by Dimash, Floor Jansen, Polina Gagarina, Charice Pempengco, … Her songs are also a recurrent in The Voice and other singer contests around the globe, from China, Indonesia and Philippines to Russia, Bulgaria, Romania, UK, Norway, Italy, France, Germany, Canada, Australia, Brazil, …
Hi!, nice reaction once again, I really learn from your explanations 👏. Lara is great!. Just in case you decide to continue reacting to her, I want to recommend two moving songs and performances by Lara: "Je Suis Malade (I am sick)" and "Je t'aime (I love you)". Get close a tissue 😉. Both performances are live, amazing. Greetings 👋 "Je suis malade" th-cam.com/video/5kp0dw4MuWs/w-d-xo.htmlsi=DsE743tHXLN6MkRa "Je t'aime" th-cam.com/video/IYnFwUbC9A8/w-d-xo.htmlsi=HCDjiuoQhQHiinwE
Ooh I still need to check out Floor Jansen! But, Yes, Lara is truly such an amazing singer, performer and storyteller. 🤯Check out my recent Lara reaction th-cam.com/video/jODYWBKvkK8/w-d-xo.htmlsi=kPzecoL5FugNy5Wz Greetings from the UK 🇬🇧😀💕
И так до конца...😉😉🙃😉 🤔🤔🤔Dimash sings the same song!!! Just a suggestion: compare these two renditions of the same song at the same time??? something like this: listened to the first verse performed by Lara. Then performed by Dimash. Compare. We listened to Lara's second verse. Dimash's second verse. Compare. And so on until the end...😉🙃😉
😀🙏🏾 This is really an interesting suggestion! Thank you! I see how a side-by-side comparison can offer a unique perspective on how different artists interpret the same piece. I will definitely consider this for a future video. Thanks for the idea! I appreciate it.😀🙏🏾
I have just listened to your reaction to Dimash singing the same song ,Collena and I immediately realized that I completely misspelt your name, giving you like a new name. You'll it pick up when you review the said reaction. My humble apologies for doing that. ❤
You commentary is great, but you cut the song in the middle of emotional moments, thereby removing all its meaning, which is part of the song. If you truly want to appreciate art (which singing is part of), you have to experience it as a whole, not only deconstruct it in its parts. It's like looking at the Mona Lisa and evaluating the shade of brown used on the background.
I don't understand why you look at almost any other direction but the monitor, Including your often closed eyes. This is supposed to be the first time you meet someone's work and you are going to react. The body language, especially in Lara's behaviour means nothing to you? The reactors have to decide if they prefer to present an artist or to give their own performance. Despite all that I subscribed miss ..who? Don't you have a name sweetheart? ❤
Sohyang...I click for Lara and Sohyang. Sohyang is Dimash level and has at least as big of stack as him of mind blowers. Seriously just look at thumbs for vocal coach reacts to Arirang Alone. If Dimash shocked you, eh Sohyang will as much. She has the best covers of top songs. Lean on me....I have nothing...Misty.... the list is ridiculous and each time people are like wtf.
If you don't know a bit of her story, she was about to sign a deal with Sony but Celine Dion and her management team didnt take too kindly to the move as they thought there was no room for two similar ARTISTS, I said this a long time ago that out of the two ARTISTS LARA is far and away the one I would have gone with, I think she offered so much more vocally and stage presence, she's quite mesmerising to watch, you can't blink when she's performing, she's wonderful 🇬🇧👌🔥❤️
Lara is a World Star and will remain so forever!!!

Best performer.
I would agree with you, but I can't because Beyonce exists.

Lara's just one of the greatestest performers in the world !
That might just be one of the best vocal performances in history. For real. The perfect song for her and she just takes it to the sky.
She’s the ultimate Queen 👸🏼
Have been a serious fan of Miss Fabian for many years. One of the world's greatest hidden treasures.
Je suis Malade is a masterpiece that should be unearthed and shared with the world. Also, Caruso is a gem who se sparkle may blind you.
Thanks, @scottsanders9090! I'm quickly becoming a fan of Lara Fabian too. It sounds like “Je suis Malade” and “Caruso” are must-listens. Can't wait to experience these tracks and see what makes them so special. Really appreciate the recommendation! 🙏🏾😀
More information on Lara Fabian:
Lara is recognized as one of the best vocalist ever seen on earth and all professionals list her in the top vocalist tier with Barbra, Whitney, Mariah, Celine, Aretha, Shirley Bassey, Lisa Fischer, ....
So she is one of the best vocalist ever, but on top of that, she adds a few things that make her an absolute package with no equivalence:
• she speaks 2 languages natively (french, italian), and 2 others fluently (english, spanish), can speak a bit of dutch (and sicilian), and understand quite well russian and portuguese. She has sung in 12 languages in total
• she is an amazing songwriter and wrote lyrics for 200+ songs, in the 4 languages she speaks fluently. She often co-composes the music, and is at the source of the melodic line.
• she acts and performs on stage as nobody else, she colors and reveals the meaning of every single word in the songs, and her ability to emote, to draw you in is second to none
• she is the sweetest soul on earth, very humble, down to earth and benevolent. She likes to meet others, and her fans are always pleasantly surprised when this happens.
A quick background on her and her career:
She is belgian, her father is flemish and grand mother on father side is dutch, but she also has italian roots (her mother is from sicilia) and American roots ( the father of her mother is from Detroit).
Many of her songs became classics and were covered by the other singing legends: Barbra Streisand, Shirley Bassey, Josh Groban (they are friends and he told she is a role model for him), Linda Eder, …
With her success in Europe, Brazil and part of Asia, she is the inspiration of the new generation of vocalists: most of them are coming from there.
Thru their covers of Lara Fabian songs, USA and many other countries are now rediscovering her.
She is Dimash's idol:
• I’ve read somewhere that, when he was a child, he was listening her songs every night to get asleep.
• He covered many of her songs, most of these were composed by Igor Krutoy and written by by Lara.
Out of my mind I can list:
○ Adagio (She wrote it and is the original performer),
○ Mademoiselle Hyde (she wrote it and is the original performer),
○ Love of Tired Swans (she wrote the song in French under the title "Je t'aime encore" and was the original performer of the french then the russian versions, Dimash covered the russian version)
○ Ascolta La Voce / Vocalize (this was a pure vocalization and she was the original performer, then lyrics were added for Dimash and it was rebranded as "Know")
• She also wrote the lyrics of Dimash's song "Your Love".
Many other top vocalists from the current generation covered her songs, some have Lara as a role model and big inspiration (singers from every region in the world: from China and Taiwan, to Philippines, Indonesia, Russia, Kazakhstan, Armenia, Bulgaria, Turkey, Netherlands, Greece, Israel, Lebanon, Italy, France, Belgium, Norway, UK, USA, Canada, Brazil, Australia, Central Africa, …)

Sorry if I was long, but I hope this gives some context on Lara.
seeing her in June- can hardly wait!!
The voice ❤
But the most famous version, by far, is Lara’s version:
it was translated into a pop song for her, she wrote lyrics in italian then co-wrote the english lyrics for it and is the original performer of these 2 versions.
She kept the title Adagio and wrote a story with a double meaning: a woman that is awaiting to find her love / an artist that is awaiting the god of inspiration.
This song has become a classic and has been covered by many : Shirley Bassey (!!), Dimash (Lara is his absolute idol and he covered several of her songs), Floor Jansen, Polina Gagarina, Dmitri Hvorostovsky, Julie Anne San Jose, Charice Penpengco, Giulia Falcone, Laura Bretan, Il Divo, Rimar, Vitas, Anastasia Luna, Evgenia Fanfara, , …
They made great covers but none of these match the amazing storytelling performance of Lara, or her ability to use vocal subtleties to be in sync with the music, exposed in her live from the concert From Lara with Love.

Thanks for the tip, @in_differ_ence! I'll keep that in mind for future reactions. More Lara reactions are on the way-stay tuned! 😊🎶😉
I listen to this over and over -- all for that last gasp.
I agree with other commentators Lara is one of the best vocalists of the past 20 years, it’s a crime she is not better known in the U.S
Seeing a presentation of her is one of the human rights. It's one of the best. The world deserves to enjoy artists like her; an example of humility, gentleness, and talent
Yes! I agree! 😀 Thanks for watching. 🙏🏾
Lara has the dynamic strength and the clarity of voice which comes from singing in several languages entirely fluently. Her Belgian French father and her Italian mother brought up Lara in a biligual home. On moving to Québec, she gained fluency in English too.
I think her was Belgian Flemish .
I love Lara ❤❤❤ kisses from Italy 😘😘😘
Lar not only sings, she performs, each song she sings. Puts her whole heart into her singing
Lara is the Queen. Any song from this concert is as close to perfection as a singer can be. You may also want to react to Lara's Yentl Medley or perhaps a song she wrote and performed for the opening of the 2011 Winter Games called " Always". There are so many but those are a start.
she sings every song in character. her je suis malade is a performance is an absolute masterpiece.
The last 40 seconds are absolutely magical.....Exceptional intensity.
I've never heard that before.
Gorgeous 💘💥
I love Lara so much!
Awesome reaction/analysis. You may be ready for her take on "Caruso" or "Je suis malade" from the same concert ("From Lara With Love - 1999"). Vocal masterclasses that top even this one.
Great reaction, Lara is amazing!

More Lara please! Eric will send you all the info and recommendations!

Thanks! 🙏🏾💕
❤❤❤

Keep up the good work
You will not find any performance by Lara that is less than supreme top notch.

This is the way. You're going to do Adagio next, and then you'll finish breaking your soul with Je Suis Malade.
She just did Adagio... Je Suis Malade is the way to go, though, yep.

Lara is a musical genius. Dumbfounding.
You should react to "je suis malade"
Lara is Dimash's idol! Dimash has performed with Lara and has sung several of her songs - Adagio being one of them. If you continue reacting to Lara, Eric Sicard (the resident expert on everything Lara Fabian) will provide you with an encyclopedia of data related to Lara.
You just discovered one of the Worlds special vocalists. FYI... 8 languages.

Except that Albinoni’s Adagio has not been composed by Albinoni but instead by Remo Giazotto in the 50s.😅

#GabrielHenrique Like number 102❤❤ My suggestion for your reaction is the talented Gabriel Henrique with the cover LOVE BY GRACE
Greetings 👋

Lara and Floor Jansen are the best singers in the world.
🤔🤔🤔Dimash sings the same song!!! Just a suggestion: compare these two renditions of the same song at the same time??? something like this: listened to the first verse performed by Lara. Then performed by Dimash. Compare. We listened to Lara's second verse. Dimash's second verse. Compare. And so on until the end...😉🙃😉

This is really an interesting suggestion!
Please react to Jessie J - Who You Are Collection (Live At Troubadour / 2019)🥺❤🙏

the only better version of this is her singing the same song... in italian
Other than being the G.O.A.T - she is not every good.
Celine is much better, thank you for her Sony!
