I’m rocking a 780 ti and it plays back for blood fine!!
I have it too. It was broken and I fixed it with a new vram. I am currently using it, but the driver does not open new games or gives an error. DirectX12 does not support. However, I can play most DirectX11 supported games at high settings with 55-60 fps. (So Vsync On)
This is a great card for games!
GTA V(RageMP/Fivem), MB II Bannerlord, For Honor, War Thunder, Battlefield V, Scum, STAR WARS Battlefront II etc. These are just the ones I've tried.

This card can do so much for £50 off ebay when in DirectX11, if this card had proper Dx12 and Vulkan implementation, it would be so much more,
games like R6S, WD2, FC5 or any game running DX11 with driver optimization is a huge step up from even the best of integrated GPUs for a much cheaper price, great option for budget builds,
there's options like Rx580, but AMD has soooo many HUGE factors to performance eg PCIE version, RAM speed, Nvidia just works, performance is similar across all rigs as long as there's no bottlenecks
A great xp based card, playing original games from the early 2000s, for those of us with large early 2000s collections is spot on, don’t expect to run modern games well, that’s a fools folly, I got x2 in sli on my X58 sabre tooth, 12gb ddr3 in triple channel mode and a Xeon w3690, superb 👍
Next video I dare you to use a GTX 1650 laptop edition.

It's sad to see how poorly the 780 Ti has aged. Radeon cards from this era have aged much better in my option with cards like the R9 290/X still performing quite well. Great video as always mate!
Nvidia not support driver from 2021 year, bat if driver support from this time, maybe worked for most game. Amd last driver supported from 2022 years, i have radeon hd 7970 and in this card possible enjoy most game, resident evil 4 remake, and etc, in gtx 780ti resident evil 4 remake not worked on this card.
Its again and again the same issue: VRAM. I would like to see the 780 6 GB in this test. It would be very interesting to see if the weaker card can perform better due to its VRAM. Although it doesn't work wonders, the performance is just too weak. It will barely get on a level with the lowest gaming offerings of 2024, even the 4050 will likely reach 1080 Ti performance.
Yet such cards can be amazing as an ultracheap offer nowadays. I survived two months of RMA with a R9 Fury. The card was in excellent condition for a surprisingly low price, while it goes for around 50 nowadays you can still game a lot of older games of the last decade very well on it and newer titles may run with tweaks.

@@nikolainonsolo1482 The VRAM issue is a bigger deal. I guarantee half the games were nVidia's bad VRAM coming up. WHich is sad, the other half being driver support, it's basically not a shit card but that nVidia purposely wasted the silicon by pulling driver support and crippling it with bad VRAM to force you into buying an overpriced new card, or switching to AMD. I ultimately switched to AMD than deal with their bad pricing b.s.
I'm pretty curious on older titles, like mid-2000s or earlier. At what point is say a gtx 8800 going to have better support for some of these old games? Are there just some titles that won't work on much else besides a voodoo 2?
Not sure, I've used a GT 530 for such retro stuff and don't think you need a nostalgic 200+ W card. By now they likely even rise in price again because the amount of usable 8000s are decreasing. Especially the GTX 8800, I think that thing released in 2006, we are nearer to 2026 than 2006 already.
I have a GTS 8800 OC2 and it runs all of these games just fine.
I couldn't run the game Cyberpunk 2077 with this card. I can only see the hud in the game but nothing more. Do you have any suggestions?

Hm so im kicking out my aging rx460 and just wanted something basic for palworld etc. I could get one of these dirt cheap. Not much decent on the used market here. Any recomendation?
This doesn't support full DirectX 12 so you may struggle to run new games. You want something GTX 900 or 1000 really.
970 is the lowest budget option, 1060 6gb next option, then 1660 / 1070
Dx12 support is just not completely there. Makes for a lot of trouble for the modern titles
Really does. Was a bit of a pain for anything relatively new. Make a decent retro card now but there's so many other options out there for what people still want for these.
i was just thinking about digging my old 780ti out of the closet and putting together my old i7 3770 pc to see what it can do today.
its winter and the 780ti is the hottest running graphics card ive ever had, and its even the asus direct cu ii with the beefed up heatsink. my new gpu the gigabyte 7800xt barely goes past 65c, and i rember the 780ti always throttling at 100c, nvidia really threw all the power they could at that keplar core, and it really was a powerful card, help back by vram, and driver updates
I have built a retro XP gaming machine with a 780Ti and a i7-3770. You can't find better hardware than that.
@@ares23dcnever tried xp on anything newer than an atholon 64x2. a 3770 will still run pretty much any game, and the are basically ewaste today, kinda like the pentium 3 was 20 years ago, now

You know what's sad it isn't even that bad, 250w is freaking nothing. What was it, 365w or 500w for the R9 295x dual GPU? And the MARS II GTX 590? I remember back in the day of dual-GPU cards it was "normal" running well over 300w. And that was with one card imagine a SLI or Crossfire rig with that.

1050Ti as it has full DirectX 12 support and still supported in Drivers by Nvidia.

Shame there seems to be a cut off point for these cards and lots of old Radeon cards too! I'm sure this is deliberate to drive new sales… End of an era
GTX 780 Ti is the best gpu for a retro XP gaming machine.
I would sya that is more than enough to put it high on a pedestal.
980ti can work WinXP (with 960 driver)
@ramaffects9793 Not officially supported. Some games will not work properly. Yeah, there is a workaround, but would rather not.
@@ares23dc There is a formal "unsupportion", just add a more 960 900-series driver (for example, 980ti) and everything works fine, the same driver, but on win 7, with an identical version, works for the entire 900 series (officially).

They make a gtx 770 2gb ram but they also make a version with 4gb ram

Its perfect on the older GPU like this.. for more modern titles i would use gtx 970.
That's helping neither age nor VRAM much at all. More like 980ti or a 1060 6gb.
i can bet that 90% of thos games which didnt wanted to start was not because of the drivers but because of directX, for example The Last of Us is dx12 only, which is why r9 gpus did so much better compared to gtx700

kinda the same even tho the titan black has 6gb of vram kepler is still kepler the lack of drivers and directx 12 (has some dx12 instructions but not all of them) its missing dx 12_1 makes all kepler cards kinda usselease in newer games even the titan z with 12gb is a total pain and the improvments over the base 780 are not notabble

Mate, I'm not from Australia or North America forgive my format.
I have had many GPU's over the years. (10+)
How am I able to run BF3, Rocket League, CS:2 (Potato settings on old titles) on an Intel Integrated HD520 and get a playable experience?
Even a R9 270X or GTX 570 in 2024 can play games, just depends on the user's free time and willingness to tweak settings for either (decent visuals 30FPS) or (fuzzy visuals 60FPS) etc.
Only thing maybe to try would be different Windows versions within 8.1/10/11. Keen to test gaming on Linux soon.
Of course old graphics cards can play old games or games that use old engines and API's. Try playing Cyberpunk 2077 or Alan Wake 2 on a GTX 570, if the lack of supported instructions or drivers don't kill it off then the lack of performance will do the job. Games for a while now as a minimum require at least DirectX 12 API's and your R9 270X / GTX 570 simply wont play them, at all. You will at least need an R9 290 (One of the first DX9 GPUs) from AMD or anything GTX 900 series (Including the weird GT 710 / GTX 750Ti mix ups) from Nvidia to even start them.

Для ретро гейминга это будет лучшая карта, имею в коллекции, и поставил на старый пк, и на ней можно в немалое количество игр играть от fallout 4, Doom 2016, даже Resident evil village можно запустить правда там нужно старый драйвер скачивать для его запуска, и тот же Elden Ring на нем можно запустить. С помощью фикса. Так что карта еще достойна, я думаю если бы nvidia выпускала бы еще драйвера то и по сей день можно было бы играть в некоторые новинки.

both ps4 and this card released towards the tail end of 2013 and its crazy that a 700 usd card didn't really aged well in comparison to a 400 usd console
rdr2 and spiderman 1 look better on ps4 lol even though its 30fps, how is this possible ? but cyberpunk is better on 780ti
games like resident evill 4 remake, ac mirage, armored core 6 etc etc still got released on ps4 in 2023, its crazy !!!
man it really shows you that buying a high end card is really a risk, its all about having support of latest api and game engine tech features, hardware alone wont make the cut

PS3 launched in 2007 and it lasted better then 8800gtx/ultra
not to mention PS2 from 2000 vs GeForce2 Ultra
