Did my diff fluid today on my revup sedan made a hell of a difference and this video helped a lot. I couldnt find amsoil easy pack in stores so i went with mobile 1 synthetic
It is worth noting that you purposefully leveled your car while doing this. Having it not be on all 4 jack stands and refilling, would leave it with less than an ideal amount of fluid
Hey, I have a 04 g35 coupe and I recently had to put in a new motor. The motor was from a automatic g35 and mine is manual. I swapped in the motor and the motor will crank and it's getting fuel too. I put every thing back together properly but the car still does not fire up. Any tips on why it's not firing up. Thanks in advance.
Both are Group 4/5, just like their engine oil. Royal Purple and Joe Gibbs Racing are the only 4 real synthetics in the U.S. All the others are phony syns called Group 3. The auto parts stores carry big name oil company trans and diff lubes for about $20-25 a gallon. They are not true synthetics. Same with ATF.

I keep going back and forth if im gonna be getting a tomei or the tdx2. What's the difference between gains and all? Im so stuck on this. The agency power is pretty good but a little raspy imo and the drone can be bad on the highway. Any advice appreciated!

Definitely change that trans fluid. It would be horrible if you waited 20k/30k more miles. Cars still has relatively low miles! My Z has 90k about to do its first trans fluid change since I’ve owned it.

Brother- Hoe do you keep the underside so clean? I bought my G and I’m replacing everything on it, cleaning as I go, making it look new and protecting. I am currently using PB Blaster to soak everything and a wire brush on rust, then a degreaser and rust converter before I repaint underneath. Advice?
I used to live in Ohio, long ass time ago. In climates like that, you can't do jack shit. I live in Phoenix, AZ the land of big titts and nice cars. I just painted it with a can of spray paint and it has looked like a hooker's ass since 2016. I hope this helps.
Owner's manual says GL-5 80W-90, but that oil is hard to find, and I've read that some of them won't work with a VLSD. I see you went with a 75W-90. Did you give up looking for exactly the right weight?
You are right the owners manual does say GL-5 80w-90, no I didn't give up looking. The tuner who tuned my car said he always just run the same weight as the gear box, no issues. He was the biggest vq tuner in Dallas, PRT tuning, Mr. Steve Kahn said 75w-90 will be just fine. A couple other vq guys hanging at the dyno shop who track their vq's said the same thing. I've always ran that weight and now I'm at 184,000 miles, no issues.

The only real way to know is to go to a dealership, let them run the vin and tell you. Late model 05's got it, mine is a late model 05, to 2007 manuals got CD009.

When I start my car ( cold ) put it into reverse it’ll grind with the clutch engaged , I’ll take it out it’ll go away . I’ve noticed when driving in between shifts it’ll slightly grind . It did this a while back & went away now it’s more persistent. No slipping though . Does anyone know if the drain & fill would help ? . Car is at 190,xxx miles ?
T -800 ...I am at 184k miles. My CD009 gear box doesn’t grind any gears. Maybe 5th when racing now I think about it, but none of you go slow. At 190k you should still have life with new lube.
I bought the car 3 months back & luckily it was all stock even down too the air box . I’m hoping to get a few more years out of it before I lay a down payment on a newer v8 .

Why didn't go with the factory rear diff viscosity, 80W90? Amsoil does sell severe gear lube 80W90.

I have rear wheel steering and both the fill and drain plugs are on the same side. No access is possible for a rear drain plug. I use REDLINE 75W85.

Should be all the same. The only difference is, you have an extra diff in the front vs just only having 1 in the rear.

You know the answer, that is why you are watching this video. Most definitely, YES! The sycnros are not getting lubbed properly between gear changes.
