Miracle Productions Vehicle Voltron Final Version Review

- This is a review of the real version 2 ( final version ) Miracle Production MA-01 Vehicle Voltron Force sourced from Toyfreakz.com. Please consider this the proper review for this diecast figure, because my first video was an inferior Hong Kong release.
Vehicle Voltron Force ( Dairugger XV ) has been a favorite of mine for years. When I first saw David Oakson Collection DX showcasing a prototype of this toy I took a huge leap of faith an dumped $260 on a pre-order. That was in April 2012, now it is January 2014 and after along ride of ups but mainly downs Totfreakz finally got it into my hands. Watch the video for all details and comparison, but in short - I love this final production figure.
This toy is no SOC ( Soul of Chogokin ) but I would say it is about 80% as good as what Bandai could have done. Given that Toynami have the license again I doubt we will see an SOC VV any time soon. Buy it and enjoy :)
How is this compared to the original version? I think 1984 is when it came out
Yeah that's right, what about Space Voltron? I don't see him, as much as the Lions. That's what we called him back on 84.😀
I wish I could get toys like these, but they'd have to be able to serve a purpose other than sit on a shelf and look snazzy. I already have limited space as it is.
Soul of Chogokin should give this particular mech a chance.

I know it has been more than 5 years since this video was made.. but I just received my Miracle production First version. I think you have the lower legs on the wrong side. I did a google search and the leg with yellow "shin" should be the left leg/calves .. thanks..

Thanks for the video. I had owned the original Japanese version of this Dairugger Toy but no longer owned it so I Just bought the Miracle Productions Improved Version 3 on eBay for $279. I am collecting the Robots/mechs of my Childhood. So far I have Unifive Astroboy, Bandai SOC Voltron (lions), Yamato Danguard Ace, Cm's Brave Gokin Grendizer. Next on my list may to get a Valkyrie from Macross/Robotech.
The first "limited" version of the toy was basically an unauthorized pre-production version. Odeean and several other reviewers jumped on those via some shady sellers in attempt to get the scoop, and ended up with a much inferior pre-production type. Not recognizing this, these reviewers proceeded to do a real hatchet job on this toy, warning many away from what was actually a great piece on official release.
This updated video review goes a small way toward righting those earlier wrongs. However, a bad taste still lingers due to these reviewers effectively killing the product and its value as a collector's piece.

Bandai, Soul of Chogokin is coming out with a Lion Voltron in 2017... it has the best proportion, symmetry, paint, chrome, etc... Would look great with this figure side by side.

I have had mine for about 2 years and it seems the one your reviewing is exactly like mine with the exception of the lower hip piece (the one the legs lock into) that piece on my version has the leg pegs permanently out, which frankly looks odd in vehicle mode. But I also noticed the styrofoam case it came in has space for them, so this piece wasn't meant to be different. I am wondering how many version of this robot there are. My eBay aren't just told me about a version that does have a different marking on the box that says "improve version" in a silver circle on the left side above the Voltron logo. I am now wondering what the difference is between this one, yours and mine. #toomanyvoltrons
Is the "real version 2 (final version)" the same as version 3? I've just found out about the version 3, so I'm not entirely sure.

V2 and V3 are the same.

Bandai needs to pay world events in order to do it. Mattel had the license but now it is Toynami that has it.

8:30 Those things remind me of the SPV's (Spectrum Pursuit Vehicles) from Captain Scarlet & The Mysterons, the main ground vehicle from UFO and the Zero-X from both the movie Thunderbirds Are Go and Captain Scarlet (The events of CS&TM take place 2 years after the events of TAG, but they use the same vehicle for both Mars missions) all at the same time

Awesome video, I've been looking for a Vehicle Voltron Figure and saw your other video with all the highlights on the wrong things from the first figure but it seems like the second version is better. My question is that if there is a way to identify or differentiate from the box wether it's a first or second version of the Toy. Thanks
This was a very well done toy, in my opinion. Actually looks better than in the show, lol.

I'll give MM credit the design is actually sound, once refined for V2 and 3. I'm not sure Bandai could do much better with how it all goes together. Where Bandai would be a vast improvement would be fit, finish and QC.

I just sold my matchbox original land warrior vehicle set in the box although I still have my original 15 piece vehicle voltron. He's still bigger than the reproduction.

Looks/sounds SO flimsy!
It's actually better than it looks or sounds on camera. It holds together very solidly. Surprisingly so considering how Dairuger XV is designed in the anime. It's main issues are more balance. It's a bit top heavy and the wheels on the feet don't help with that. I've never had mine fall, but I got paranoid and got a doll stand for it just in case. The articulation is not to Bandai SOC or SRC levels. But it is actually better than the Power Rangers Megazords. It's not a perfect figure, with a host of issues such as hands that fall out, and difficulty in actually taking it back apart. But it isn't horrible. It's distinct for what it is, and its all we got unless or until Bandai decides to do one.
Man, even the improved version is a POS. Vote with your wallet (and not your nostalgia) folks, don't buy this crap. $190+ toy shouldn't have to be handled with kid gloves.
