Regine has so much respect for Mariah, Whitney, and Celine. She’s been singing their songs a lot in her prime. That’s how entertainment works in the Philippines and generally in Asia. They love doing live covers of popular songs from the US. Another reason why she’s hailed the Asia’s Songbird is because she’s one of the very few, or the only one at that time (80’s, 90’s, and early 2000’s) who could actually give justice singing the US trinity’s songs and make it her own by adding her own flare. She was hated by a lot of the trinity’s fans back then, hahahaha for they did not like it when someone else could sing their idol’s songs so well, but all of that is in the past now, but just to let you know how it was back then, hahahaha.
@Regina Flores Unfortunately, this person doesn't even understand the difference between a live and a studio recording. How should he understand the difference between Regine's arrangement and that of Mariah Carey. I am sure that he has never heard a Regine studio recording on a state-of-the-art system, or at least converted one of Regine's numerous MP4-encoded video clips into a pure audio file (wav or aif) with the appropriate software. Therefore, he will never understand that Regine's voice is one of the voices that suffer the most under TH-cam audio quality due to the incredible power in her voice. For me, by listening to her songs on Sennheiser/Fostex/RME equipment, she really sings in a league of her own when it comes to contemporary music, or as Lea put it succinctly, "she's a freak of nature". Regine is 49 here.. and singing live here like shes 20 I saw Mariah live last year.. was the worst concert I'd seen ever.. she was 2 hours late.. walked around flustered looking tired and swollen in a leotard .. even had her "makeup and hair crew" fix her half way through a song because she felt "messy".. and lip synced 80%of her show.. she even dropped her micophone twice and hit her head on the large butterfly that moved on stage. It was the worst cringe fest ever..it's such a shame. I grew up listening to Mariahs music... and there is no doubt she paved the way for many artists. But her recent performances have been horrendous. If regine and mariah were to sing right now. We would all know regine would surpass miss Carey
That’s what you call version. You dont need to imitate the original singer. In Philippines, they do that. You need to excel and show how you do it your own. She’s not an impersonator, she’s a professional Queen Singer! Lol!

Regine.. the same.age as mariah.. and singing like shes 20.. Mariah's voice isnt the same anymore. Regine has gotten better with age.
