Need urgent answer with explanation:: If thickness of a wall is doubled, does its thermal conductivity double, remain same , or become half??
Remains same, because thermal conductivity depends on nature of materials. Let's take a look on hook's law in which constant' K ' measure the stiffness of spring and doest depend on displacement or force. So, thermal conductivity be like a constant which value only gives the nature of substance that how quickly transfer the heat.
If your question deals with rate of flow of heat then of course rate of flow of heat depend on thickness, area and etc.
