    Once, back in 2005, I heard a man next door SCREAMING as if he was being murdered. I called the police and waited outside. Two cars showed up at the same time and I pointed out the house to the cops and they barged in and everything was quiet for about ten minutes. The police walk out and half of them burst into laughter the minute they get out the house. I ask one of them what happened and he said everything was fine and that he's not at liberty to make a statement. Then he stood still and nods to another cop that passes by so he was the last one and no one could see him. Just before he walks away he whispered "he was getting pegged" and he hurries on and gets into the squad car.
    I cracked the hell up and was never able to look that boring-looking middle aged couple in the face again.

    My grandpa was a cop in a poor area of rural Missouri. He went to a loud party call, and tells them to calm it down or shut it down. Host says "got it" and grandpa leaves. An hour later, grandpa pulls back up to the house because they got another complaint. Grandpa walks in and tells host to end the party. Random drunk partygoer decides he doesn't like grandpa ending the fun, so he charges at him. Drunk guys rolls a 1 on his unarmed strike. Grandpa rolls this guy over his shoulder. 2 more guys decide to join in. Grandpa flips guy 2 over his back, and takes guy 3 by the arm and trips him to the floor. I called the cops on what I thought was just some guy reving his car and doing burn outs on the top of a parking deck at like 2am. Turns out its was a whole underground car race/show of about 30 cars doing burn outs and donuts and drift racing. Tons of drugs and alcohol and they had damaged some other cars in the parking deck and vandalized the actual structure. I live in the building across the street and saw the parade of of dozens of cheap "super" cars then about 7 or 8 tow trucks and a few more cop cars. Turns out they had arrested several of them and their cars had to be towed. So yeah... called for a noise complaint then cops ended up with half a dozen arrest, lots of drugs and drunk driving, property damage....

    My neighbors kids were being stupid loud on afternoon when I had a graveyard shift to work that night. I went over to ask them to keep it down. The door was kinda open so I saw the kids screaming in the corner while their mother's boyfriend was beating the shit out of her. I ran back to my house and called the police. She decided not to press charges on him, which resulted in the kids getting taken away by CPS.

    Few years back in my city police was called not long before midnight because an old lady neighbor been playing one song loud repeatedly since early morning and they're going crazy, police came, neighbors said she is known to love that song and playing it many times but not for the whole day without stopping or this loud. So the police knocks on the door and no answer so after a while police broke into the apartmant finding the old lady on the ground injured and immobilized, she couldn't reach anything except the remote control of the radio.

    I think it was just this year, someone called the cops on their neighbour (apartment building) because they heard "domestic abuse" sounds and I think gave the police misleading info, when they got there a lady came out a lady came out and was taking to them, then her partner came out and the cops misinterpreted some action as him drawing a concealed weapon and shot him dead on the spot. Turns out the couple were playing crash bandicoot and were just being a little rowdy but nothing too extreme, the nosy neighbour just didn't like the noise. A man lost his life with no warning, no provocation, when all him and his partner were doing was having fun. He was white.

    • @gnarthdarkanen7464
      @gnarthdarkanen7464 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I've admitted more than a few times that "It's probably nothing." when reporting dubious situations or issues to the Police. The HUGE great majority of the time, they appreciate it. You're not misusing police services to call a non-emergency number about pretty much anything... Even if you only dial 9-1-1 because you don't know the non-emergency number, most of the time, they'll only ever give you a warning...
      I've reported "possible human remains" (for instance) in a wildlife sanctuary. The "last nail in that coffin" (my decision to call it in) were a few remnants of lady's clothing about the bush, but I'd seen what looked very similar to a smallish human foot, except it was all bones and a little connective tissue... SO I couldn't be absolutely sure. I just couldn't think of a single animal that would have a foot just THAT similar to human... SO I put the coordinates into my GPS, and marched out as directly as possible to where I could get a decent signal, and I called it in... non-emergency, because whoever it was, they were dead. There was no sense of immediate danger...
      Had to hand out about half an hour for the Cops to show up, and I just handed them the phone with the GPS coordinates, and then followed along to answer any questions if necessary. I wasn't afraid of anything. It just seemed best to send them for their first impressions, and explain only when they needed anything.
      Turned out to be a bear, or rather the hind foot of a bear. AND I got a couple bonuses out of that experience. First, I got the lesson of bear anatomy, and particularly that the difference between their hind feet and our feet is easiest to note in their CLAWS versus toenails... SO a small stick to try to discern that can help avoid further issue. Second, they pointed out a few reasons it was most likely poached... Too young for a likely natural death, and in a sanctuary... among other more technical issues. In the end they thanked me for the report. They also agreed that clothes tattered around the spot were a good reason to suspect I'd stumbled on a psycho's death-stash or something... BUT they were going to increase patrols and presence around there for poaching.
      The reality is that with ANY crime, time is a factor. It's often working against police resolving whatever is going on. The sooner they can get onto a "case", the better their chances to do something good. They don't mind the occasional "wild goose chase". They only get pissy about someone calling for really dumb reasons... like people dialing 9-1-1 to intimidate children or for their meal orders being less than perfect.
      If it's nothing, and they come back to tell you that it's nothing, they're probably trying to be helpful. They mean that you can relax. It's not the horrible dangerous sh*t you thought it could be. It's generally better to play "safe" than "sorry". ;o)

    I can just picture these cats playing with their toys with bells in them and all you hear is the light bell sounds as they play. 😂 My family and I used to live in a set of apartments and the neighbor below us would find any noise to complain about. At first we thought maybe we were being a bit loud so we tried to be more quiet. Eventually we realized we could just be doing normal house chores in the middle of the day and she'd complain. It wasn't that there were thin floors because we could barely hear our neighbors above us but we could hear when she would yell for her cat. When we moved out my mom and stepdad put in the reason we're moving out is because of her.

    That one story recently where a cop murdered a man answering the door with a gun because they didn't announce they were the police.

    • @supergamer1388
      @supergamer1388 3 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      I read that story. If I recall, the man was playing Crash Bandicoot with his girlfriend and the two of them were getting a bit too excited about it. The neighbor who called it in was asked by dispatch if he thought it was domestic violence. The neighbor asked something to the effect of "Will you come here faster if I say yes?"
      The officers were under the impression that they were walking into a domestic violence incident and followed standard protocol of not staying in front of the door as some of these calls have resulted in somebody firing a gun through the door at the officers.
      The man didn't know anything was even wrong but the area he lived in was known to have criminals pretend to be the police in order to get you to open the door for them before they did their deeds. So, because it was the middle of the night and the officers were out of sight of the peephole, the man thought that he should answer the door with a firearm at the ready in the case that it was some criminal break in attempt. The fatal fallout, you already know.
      Honestly, if I had to condemn anybody for this tragedy, I'd pin that to the neighbor who claimed domestic violence which put the officers on high alert. In addition, he didn't even try asking the couple to tone it down beforehand meaning that they honestly had no idea that a real officer might actually be at the door and didn't want to take chances.

    A foreign student at my uni who had an absolute rule that she didn't open the door to anyone knocking at night. Problem was that "at night" meant "dark outside" and in the winter it gets dark by 5 PM here in Finland (conversely the sun doesn't go down at all in the summer). Her kids liked to play loudly so the neighbors tried taking to her, but being "at night" after 5 PM she refused to open the door every time. Eventually the they got fed up and called the police, for whom she also refused to answer the door. Thinking something was wrong they ended up breaking down the door.
    Afterwards she was furious and would complain to anyone who would listen about how the police are idiots and everyone knows that you don't open the door to strangers at night when it's dark outside.

    In 2001 three 10 yr old girls were legally married off in Tennessee. If you are interested in learning more look up minimum age laws. I believe the minimum age in Tennessee was changed to 18 in 2018. I was reminded of this when I heard the noise complaint involving the 13 year old.

    • @gnarthdarkanen7464
      @gnarthdarkanen7464 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      It's a bit more complicated than that... In TN, for a long time, the "age of consent" was 16, because that's when you can get a license for a car. Part of that license thing, is that "By driving on public roads, you imply CONSENT for police to stop and search your vehicle at any time." AND with that wording exactly, there would be serious ramifications if the age of consent (meant in consideration for sexual engagements and marital contracts and such) wasn't equivalent or lower than the age to legally drive. There was also a clause in the law about parents/guardians signing for minors for certain contractual engagements even before 16, AND for situations like emancipation from parents...
      The older laws had loopholes that basically allowed those three girls to be married off (presumably for a price, and presumably for horrible reasons)... SO they didn't just broad-stroke change the "legal age of consent" to 18, they shored up a lot of those loopholes, so parents couldn't legitimately marry off their offspring before they were old enough to fully understand what the hell was even going on... BUT they still want the possibility to remain open for "hardship licensing" (driving at 14 or 15 in some cases where it's impossible for the family to arrange otherwise) and emancipation, in cases of criminal neglect or abuse. ;o)

    Okay my time to shine I was about 8 years old when this happened, I was living with my mom and siblings in a multi floor apartment in a college town and it was like 1am and a bunch of college kids in various states of inebriation return to the apartment behind and below where we were sleeping and turned on their stereo and cranked it all the to 11 waking us all all up.
    My Mom stomped on the floor and yelled at them to turn it down which they did for a bit but maybe 30 minutes later it was cranked up again and mom tried to get them to turn it back down but they just yelled at her to eff off.
    My Mom called cops as she had had it with their crap, we expected a couple of cops showing to tell them to to turn it down but what we got was 12 -15 uniformed officers and a couple of plain clothes cops that got them to shut down the music. The ironic thing is if they had just kept it down after my mom first yelled at them they would have no problems and not had the cops keeping a closer eye on them as were were in the process of moving out and would have been gone the next day.

    4:00 ....sure hope that cat is ok. 😻😻😻
    My oldest tom went for my back last month. Not sure why: my younger tom was playing with one of my girl cats who went into heat a few days later so maybe that was it?? But even though I was bleeding in 3 spots on my back I was more worried about him after I knocked him off my back than I was myself.
    Now got to git him off my belly so I can go to the big boy litter box. 😸😸😸

      Yea I once got attacked quite badly by my normally extremely sweet old boy bc he got spooked by a raccoon while we were out for a walk. He wouldn't leave a hiding place he'd found for himself, so I tried to get him home and well....
      (I eventually got him into a position where I was holding him by the scruff of his neck and his bum at arm's length while I rushed home, him hissing and growling the whole time, me bloody and bruised the whole while. Once we were in my apartment building he calmed down some, and even more so when I put him down in my apartment. He was still on edge however, so I gave him a ton of treats, while I VERY CAREFULLY removed his harness. Then I washed up and examined the damage and decided to go to the hospital bc yea I had a few bites and it was too late for a clinic (they'd all be closed). Got a tetanus shot and some antibiotics. My hands and face were swollen and sore for a while but otherwise I was ok 😅 (I was wearing a thick hoodie so he couldn't get at anything else 😅))

    So, what country allows police to enter without exigent circumstances? There’s no noise from inside and they can just kick the door in and enter? Is that somewhere in Europe?
    Because, the US would have those officers in court for 4A violations so quick their head would spin.

    Yeeeeaaaa I’m calling bullshit on the cat story.
    Cats can be assholes- COMPLETE assholes. They will bite and scratch sometimes. Sometimes they will make go crazy...
    But, they would never full on attack someone and go back for more (with the intent of murder). She did something to that cat that made it full on protect itself or something else.

    • @beastmaster0934
      @beastmaster0934 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yeah
      Cats can be assholes for sometimes no god damn reason.
      They could just wake up in the morning and be like “I feel like being an asshole today”
      But they don’t attack someone, and then attack again without good reason.

    I can sort of get it in countries like England where they have really strict weapons laws but I never people in countries like America without even counting guns but just the self defense/ legally collectable hand combat weapons, why would you pick a shitty quality probably dull a.f. samurai sword you probably got at the mall or best case ordered online or bought from a karate school cyz when i was a kid alot of those places had a display case under the cash register so kids would go in to see about lessons and on the way out would see all the real life weapons they've seen on tv and throw fits if their parents were yuppies. Im sure many kids saved up their allowances to have the same weapons as the ninja turtles. Still thow anyone who uses a samurai sword in U.S. to try to go on some sort of spree is just so past the point of just fantasizing to kill but you actually have to be a big enough asshole to think that you're like Uma Thurman in kill bill whith you're "awesome sword " that is gonna break at the handle the first time you try it and is less sharp than a butter knife so other than the pointy tip is probably one of the dumbest things to go ham with. Splurge the 10$ or less on f#ckin machete at Walmart that comes with a sharpened edge because it's actually made to hack through thick weeds and forest brush if you're gonna be that big a piece of garbage anyway.., on second thought keep liking the swords, at least you won't get anywhere close to your goal and will probably hurt yourself more than other people in the process.. sry bout the rant.

    Also,. Who hallucinates while drinking?

    • @Phoebe5448
      @Phoebe5448 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You'd be surprised about the hallucinating with drinking part. My mum has been an alcoholic my entire life and an epileptic. Plus DTs (Delirium Tremens) is a heck of a thing. But that usually with hardcore alcoholics who try to quit cold turkey. But yes, you can hallucinate when drunk. I think its a certain condition of the brain iirc. Also mixing drugs and booze. The more you know!

Like the second they found out about the cat they incuffed him jfc 🙄
