30 year RDH here... if I could play this video to every patient or parent, I would; it's "right on". I try to stress the value of fat soluble vitamins through diet as well. One tip I would suggest for drinking with a straw is to place it deeper into the mouth and not directly behind the front teeth to by-pass the teeth as much as possible. Thank you for helping people around the world live healthier lives.

As a dentist, I can tell you that this explanation is fantastic. We discuss this situation with our patients almost daily. Even with good oral hygiene habits, people will still develop cavities due to an acidic environment. Sports drinks have been a terrible factor in the increase of tooth decay. Primarily, because of the sugar and acid combination described by Dr Berg. Great information. Thanks!

As you are a dentist I have a question. I hear fluoride can be very dangerous. Indeed they even put it in the water. I've heard it can make a person more docile and easier to manipulate and control which of course wicked governments would love. I hear it as a byproduct of some kind of manufacturing. It's not very helpful even though the government or organization of the FDA says it is helpful. Are there any non fluoride alternatives to teeth cleaning when you go to a dentist? For that reason I do not go to the dentist anymore. I do brush my teeth at least twice a day and floss and my teeth look great and feel great. Just wondering. Peace be with you all

My teeth fell apart as a teenager. (The time you're most sensitive about looks)
I went to my dentist and he literally poked holes in my front teeth... spent hours getting them bonded. They never looked natural again.
Made me into a terribly shy person because I was so self-conscious about my teeth.

I love your recent focus on dental health! I’m wrapping up my last month of dental hygiene school and am about to graduate. One thing worth mentioning when talking about oral health and the protection of saliva is that anyone taking any medications may have or develop xerostomia or dry mouth. It’s one of the top side effects of most drugs. So some of those acidic, sugary, starchy foods/drinks are much more detrimental to the teeth because those people lack saliva to help buffer and remineralize their teeth. And how many people take medications? A lot unfortunately.

Thanks for sharing/informing us. But as Sunshine Everyday mentioned what can we do if we HAVE to take medication to help get rid of dry mouth? I NEVER used to have it until I had to take for my chronic pain and migraines 😔😭.
And I have had weakened teeth unfortunately since I got osteoporosis (although I try to take care of my bones 🤔😔😭) I was eating almonds and cracked a tooth the dentist said to the root and he said it couldn't be saved 😳😔😭😡 I don't believe that it just looked like the filling was missing.
Then once before that I was flossing and the front part of one of my teeth broke off close to the gum😳😖 and that dentist was able to do a root canal...so that's why I don't believe the other dentist couldn't save the split tooth! I believe the osteoporosis has weakened my teeth along with the medications (like you said cause dry mouth 😭). Thank you so very much for your help 🙏!!!
P.S. I have been using a tongue scraper to help.

I’m a dentist, and I have to say that I agree with 95% of this video. You nailed it with the explanation of how sugars and acids dissolve teeth. I’m not familiar with the theory that high blood sugar dissolves teeth from the inside. In order for sugar to cause harm to teeth, bacteria need to be present and in a healthy tooth there ought not to be bacteria in the pulp. If bacteria reach the pulp via a cavity, I could see a higher blood sugar possibly making things worse, but at that point, the tooth needs to be removed or have root canal therapy. Anyway, this is an excellent video that I might consider showing to patients.

Very informative. I used to drink at least a litre of fruit juice every day, thinking it was healthy. It has definitely thinned the enamel significantly by the gums. Many years ago a dentist told me I inherited excellent teeth due to my saliva been highly mineralized. Being hereditary beyond reasonable oral hygiene my tooth lose would be due to gum disease not tooth decay. I've been fortunate in that regard except for a bad outcome due to dentistry. A video about restoring and maintaining a healthy oral biome would be helpful. I've learned about common herbs and nutrients like FOS and alcohol sugars that feed the beneficial bacteria in your mouth and harsh antiseptic fluoridated mouth washes actually caused my gingivitis. Restoring the complete biome of the body from sinuses to toes, epidermis to intestines, is really interesting. The Iodine in my Neti pot has been very beneficial.

Drinking acidic or sweet things with a straw and keeping it towards the back of your mouth can really help. Also keep some water handy if you can, to occasionally swish or wash away some of the stuff. Another thing to consider is drinking liquid chlorophyll water, which adding it is supposed to make the water more alkaline therefore helping balance PH level in your mouth and body.
Along with all this, consider researching phytic acid and how it can rob your body of essential nutrients that keep teeth and bones strong. Luckily it's not hard to counteract the effects of phytic acid through supplements, or eating more types of foods like broccoli or bellpeppers for example rich in vitamins. I believe it's vitamin C or D that is most important for counteracting the nutrient robbing effects of phytic acid

When I was little, my southern relatives hardly ever drank water- only Coca-Cola, Pepsi, NuGrape, Red Rock, Mountain Dew and Sunkist orange- Yes, I know the name of every single soda. They pushed soda on me from the time I was a baby. I can remember not being finished with the first one before someone would say "Baby, that soda is hot. We'll get you another one." And then we'd all go to the corner store and get more soda. I was also given lots of juice (because it was "healthy") and we were always going to the corner store for bubble gum and candy. They didn't know any better. They were actually trying to show me love without realizing the damage. Most of them have now passed away from diseases stemming from diabetes, cancer and high blood pressure/heart problems. 😪I think that if they could see me now, they'd be so proud to see me doing the research and changing my diet and breaking the cycle. 🤗 It took me a long time to realize what I was doing to myself. Excess sugar and carb consumption was so normalized and I was raised thinking that "getting healthy" meant following the carb heavy food pyramid. Thankfully for me, I never liked soda very much even though it was pushed on me...but I did become addicted to carbs, especially sweets. Excessive Hubba Bubba, Bazooka Joe and Bubblelicious chewing cost me most my permanent molars. I have caps on them. But the rest of my teeth are perfect and I'm 51. Most of my relatives had full sets of dentures long before my age. I so appreciate Dr. Berg and Doctor. Berry (and others) for telling the truth and helping us learn! They are literally saving lives. I had tried every diet, including Keto, and failed. I had pre-diabetes, blurred vision, the beginnings diabetic neuropathy in my feet, and I was so insulin resistant, I couldn't lose weight even on keto. I learned about the Carnivore diet from Dr. Berry and it has been the only thing that has worked for me. It wasn't easy and I still am very overweight with over a hundred pounds to lose. I've only been on it 6 weeks and until only a few days ago, I was losing very little weight and felt like garbage, but I kept going because I researched and saw that others went through the same thing. I had a solid month or more of diarrhea, oxalate dumping, electrolyte issues/palpitations but I learned to supplement electrolytes, Magnesium and potassium, and digestive enzymes until I was adapted. Now, my clothes are slowly starting to fit looser. The tingling in my hands and feet is gone, my energy is returning (and I've always been very active for my size but was almost too fatigued to move when I started carnivore). 50 years spent on doctors who either didn't know any better or didn't gaf. 25 years spent struggling with an autoimmune disease that resulted in me losing my thyroid. 40 years spent overweight with no self esteem, bullied throughout childhood to the point I tried to take my own life at 12. And now, fir the first time in my life, I'm seeing real and positive health changes. So grateful 🙏🏽!

I post a question about this above.... I always wondered about that ... My question is about lemon water. I love to drink it in the morning as it really helps my digestion, but is it better to drink more acidity in less time or less acidity in more time? For example, the juice from a 1/2 lemon straight, but only take 3seconds to do it OR drink a more diluted lemon water which takes you minutes to finish? I always rinse my mouth right after with tap water to wash away the acid, but have been wondering which one is better for my teeth.
I have been doing the former one because it only takes a few seconds and the teeth barely come in to contact with the juice before they get rinsed, but am wondering which one is better?

@@007MJFan I think it's better to drink more acid in short time than otherwise, even with lower acidity, over a longer period of time it will deteriorate your teeth worse. That's my take but I could be wrong.
However you do, you can use carbon powder or baking powder, rinse your mouth and cancel any acidity in your mouth.

@@manoman0 , thanks for the response. That's what I thought too and have been doing. I think I stick with lowering the exposure duration and making sure I rinse well and neutralize the acid right after.

@@007MJFan I'd say drink your daily dose as much as you want and then rinse out your mouth really good, it's exposure that counts. Cavities start forming with the demineralization of enamel which happens at acidic pH levels., so naturally the less time the pH in your mouth is strongly acidic the better.

I think you meant to say one cup is approximately 250 ml. You said, "one cup is approximately 750 ml." To be more precise, however, 3 cups is approximately 700 ml, or exactly 709.77 ml.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure a standard bottle of wine is 750 ml.

So much to learn. Thank you, Dr. Berg! One can use a straw and drink lemon juice and/or ACV pretty quickly, then rinse. Not the case with most club soda drinkers (using it as a mixer).
What about adding a pinch of potassium citrate to the cocktail?

My mother worked for the canning company that had to produce a liner that the Coca-Cola couldn't eat through. She would bring things home that they would drop in the Coke can and show us what it did. Incredible. Had to have a special liner for it think about that.

    • @dingoman3137
      @dingoman3137 2 ปีที่แล้ว

The special liner is only for the coke they put into the aluminum cans. If they didn't put the liner in the cans then the aluminum would contaminate the coke and poison you. I still agree with you though, coke is bad for you and your teeth.
