true. lever is easiest to use, not the foot emergency brake. by instinct you pull the lever in emergency, you won't do that by pressing the button or using the foot park brake, you will just slam the normal brakes.
When my break hold is active, can I just press on the accelerator to go, or do i need to deactivate the break hold by clicking the "hold" button again?
So, is this just like putting your car in park. I like the idea for your brakes to be held while in traffic, but the electronic park feature just seems like you putting your vehicle into park with a button besides shifting it into park like normal. What's the difference?
Will Brake Hold cause damage to the Parking Brake if someone uses it daily, like if it gets used on stop and go traffic not just on intersections or red lights?
Brake hold is not done by the EPB, the video is incorrect. You can verify this yourself - in a vacant parking lot or driveway, stop and activate the EPB w/ your window down. You'll hear the motors whine when engaging and disengaging the EPB. Now, w/ the EPB off, while stopped and in drive, activate the brake hold. You will not hear the whine from the EPB, b/c the EPB is not used. Brake hold works by boosting pressure in the brake lines, so that it is as if you were still pressing on the brake pedal yourself.
I have the Toyota Corolla 2019 MANUAL transmission vehicle with automatic parking brake. I cant find a youtube video on how to use it correctly with manual transmission. Is there one?
I was wondering the same and I spent a lot time to find solution. Eventually I bought a kit to wire the autohold button to safebelt sensor. Thanks to that, when I turn on the car and plug my safe belt, the hold will be turned on as well. And the hold button is still working, you can use it to turn on or turn off manually.
You guys need to correct your video. The EPB isn't what is activated when using brake hold, they are two separate mechanisms. EPB uses a motor driven, mechanical cam on the rear disks to engage the parking brake feature, while brake hold works by boosting pressure in the brake lines to apply caliper pressure on all four wheels as if you were actually pressing the brake pedal. Again, two completely different mechanisms for two completely different uses.
Hi guys,,,, I have 2018 Camry GLE V4. When the speed at 160 Km/hr engine temperature drop below C and when I reduce the speed ti 140 Km/hr the engine temperature becomes normal. Is that normal situation?? Waiting for your feedback. Thx,,
I accidentally pulled up on the parking brake button for about 5 seconds while the vehicle was in park and the electronic parking brake was already engaged. Did I do any damage to the electric motors?
No. Holding it up only activates the parking interlock if not already active, meaning it will auto engage when put into park, and disengage when shifting out of park. Pressing and holding it down until you hear a chime will disable the parking interlock.

@@toyotausa I'm so disappointed in the radio. They charge me yearly just to use some regular features. The bluetooth very often malfunctions. Pressing stop on the screen does not turn off the ringing)

What a nightmare. This is NOT intuitive in the least. Had an opportunity to drive my first Hybrid Camry auto today, and the first thing I noticed was that it rolled back on slight slopes! Whilst fiddling with the e-brake in order to do a hill start I almost rolled back into the car behind. Then it locked on (of course); I pressed the accelerator hard and the auto-release function must have worked because it let go and the two engines working together slammed me back into the seat, nearly breaking the backrest off. Imagine teaching a learner driver! A simply hand or foot lever that is pulled (or pushed), can be felt when applied due to increasing resistance and can also be partly applied is ALL you need! How the HELL moronic Australian governments allow cars featuring a patently DANGEROUS device such as this to be registered I'll never know - that is also stuffed whenever there is an electrical fault. I guess it is the same with headlights. Back in 1991 Ford took out a full-page advertisement warning drivers against fitting reproduction headlights that produced 862% more glare. Now registration departments allow cars with original headlights and tailights that are as glary as sh*t! Ho hum. Someone is getting paid off at the higher echelons I guess. Or we just bend over to the other countries that make these because we are forced to trade with them.
This stupid brake hold feature encourage people to add way too much gas in stop and go traffic, then waste energy by stopping instead of rolling slowly, and worsening the traffic jam for everyone on the road
The auto hold can be nice but I also want a lever parking/emergency/hand brake.
true. lever is easiest to use, not the foot emergency brake. by instinct you pull the lever in emergency, you won't do that by pressing the button or using the foot park brake, you will just slam the normal brakes.

Does this model come with traditional brake? I don't like the buttons
This is a really well thought out way to remove a critical safety system from vehicles while increasing servicing costs.
When my break hold is active, can I just press on the accelerator to go, or do i need to deactivate the break hold by clicking the "hold" button again?
Just accelerate car will start moving and stop the car and it will engage again . No more hassle i use it daily
Am I the only one you still prefers the old one?
Get use to it. Cheers
No there are plenty of people who like the older one better
The new Camry is way better

is it normal when using electric parking brake makes a somewhat loud sound when engaging or disengaging.?
Jimmy Son yes. All cars do it.
Its normal no worries
The sound you hear is the clamp releasing or engaging the brake out back. It’s normal
Why don't they just make brake hold automatically engaged when break pedal is pressed after certain seconds say 3 seconds?
Not everyone would want that including myself
Sometimes you just need to creep forward a bit without pushing the accelerator which would be use case where you want it off.

I think that's the plan with these auto makers. If it aint broke don't fix it but they dont like that. They want things to break.
The 2007 Lexus LS got the first implantation of the electronic parking brake. I haven’t heard any concerns about it.

Use it only at red lights. Also eliminates time used to take foot off brakes and hitting accelerator.

Who cares
nobody copied anybody, it’s just another feature that every car is starting to adopt, just like leather seats or heated and cooled seats.
