Awesome list of bike for beginners. I have a RE Himalayan since 2016 and done quite a few miles on it. I can safely say it is the perfect all-rounder bike. Its my daily commute to office and weekend get away with loads of luggage carrying capacity. The long suspensions and cushy seats makes it effortless for the longer rides. Personally started with a little Yamaha Scorpio 225, great little bike. Was produced back in the mid 2000’s so had push start and kick start, as well as side stand and centre stand. Just for those I’d recommend one. Plus it was okay if you dropped it and can teach you the basics of riding. I then moved to a Suzuki gs 500g. Handles like a 1000cc bike. Feels big and heavy, weighs 200kg. Upside of that, is that you can then jump on those bigger bikes and you don’t have to learn riding style m, just throttle control
Great video! As I enter my 40th year of riding, arthritis and age slow you down a bit, but honestly, these bikes are not just for beginners! I just picked up a new 2021 Honda CB300R, because it is light as a feather for arthritic limbs, but still potent and a hoot to ride! Good video! However, your original instinct to leave out the Grom would have been the correct decision. In my opinion of course. I started my son on a Rebel 250. He then moved up to a 97 Honda Magna 750. Great bike!
That was my first bike too. I loved that bike, even with its shortcomings. But after all this time, I've never riden a larger displacement bike. I'm looking for something small now but not a mini moto.
It's what I did too. My Mum didn't take me seriously and said sure fine you can buy one when you have saved up the money. ( I was rubbish at saving) 2 weeks later I went and bought a motorbike, had been saving for a few months, and bought an MZ Simson 50cc for a few hundred quid and got my brother to ride it home, she was shocked but let me keep it and take my test ;)
Great list however I would've loved to see the Husqvarna Vitpilen 401 on the list. It's affordable, looks great and it has the same engine as the duke 390.
i’m still puzzled how husky made such a great bike for that low of a price. has some standard features that you don’t see on many bikes till around the $7-8k price point.
I usually don’t follow TH-camrs on the first video, I followed this channel within the next 2 mins 🤣🤣 the boss line was too real for me to miss out on more videos like this.
I'm 6'2" 240lbs and bought a ninja 650 after basically sniping a really good deal on facebook marketplace I can say with a lot of confidence as someone who went from basically 0 miles ever on a bike(on street, but dirt experience was from many years ago) to 300 in the same day, if you are willing to give it your all you can start 600cc+. Haven't dropped her once, hit a ton of stalls, but I've practically got it down after many fails. Still a ton to learn, but I don't regret buying a 600cc+ bike at all
Great video. So I'm assuming beginners will be looking to spend around 5k to get started? Or how do you feel about buying used bikes? Could be a nice video idea
Yes!! Just gotta know what to look for. I got a 2011 fz6r for only $1800. the only issue is I had an exposed wire so the fuse for my blinkers, tail light, and horn blew out. That was an easy fix then some of the fairing needed to be replaced and that was it. Even had a power commander already installed for no extra price either

Thanks for the info, bro. I really want a bike, is my dream and now I have the opportunity to get, so I'm I'm the process of just getting my license as I've never ridden one. Now, I was checking insurance and the Honda rebel either the 300 or 500 was $750 cheaper tu insurance than all the most bikes. This was with progressive.

Yes I`m subd & belled. I`m a new/old rider, just bought new GSX250FRLL9 6 weeks ago for 5 grand. My next bike is going to be the Honda Rebel 500. Loving the bike life.
Imo the perfect road bike for beginners is a CB 500F: 47hp, low, mostly upright driving position, good fuel economy and comfortable ride. I had it for two years and went 5000 km with it, both commutes and long-ish trips.
man the intro and the way you have planned this video right of the bat i appriciate yor work and thoughts im beginner i have been riding 125 cc for quite sometime now only 3 mins in and i like the video already lets watch the rest of it
I really appreciate that! I want to help get as many people out there riding as possible and I thought this video would help people decide what bike would be best for them!
What do think about the Honda NC750X, it's available with DCT which I think is pretty cool and price yet below 10 grand. It might look like it's not a beginner bike because it has a 750cc motor and cost almost twice as much as some of the smaller engine bikes you names but it has some pretty good features and you actually get a lot of bike for the money. I'm concidering getting one as daily commuter, Honda moved tha tank under the seat and put a decent storage compartment instead of the tank, this great for commuting because you don't necessarily need an additional case or back bag to put your stuff! Also does it feature different drive modes for different road conditions which helps during rain or offroad rides. But the highlight for me is the (optional) Honda DCT which does make commuting even more fun. I know this is controversal because shifting is some kind of holy grale for some bikers but honestly I don't mind as long as I'm driving on the road and be save. With the DCT you still be able to shift completly manually but youd dont't need a clutch or your left foot which reduces sources of error. Should you learn to ride manual transmission? SURE but is it always better to drive manual? I don't think, at least not if the system works and the Honda DCT does work very very good from what I heard so far. It took some years but now it's ready to challange manual tranmissions on all bikes and Honda is pushing it, the new Africa has it available, the new X-ADV has it and there will be more in the future.
The NC750X or the CB500X are great choices. I think knowing how to use a clutch is important but if you plan on staying with a DCT transmission for the future, no real need. I’ve ridden the Africa Twin DCT and it took a few days to get used to it, but if you aren’t constantly looking for that lever, you’ll be fine.
@@BurtoniMotors wow, thanks for the quick response! As I mentioned, you should definitely learn to drive a manual transmission because it’s still found ob most bikes and you would not lock yourself out of these options haha. However, I learned driving years ago on a regular bike but as you get older other things become more relevant and as long as I‘m just going from A-B I definitely don’t need to shift manually to feel good haha.
Thanks man for the video 📹, much appreciated. It provides enough details to make a decision what to buy as new biker. Kawasaki 400 N & Honda 500. Done deal 👌
Ever since my moped days were "over" since i moved over to using a car, i've always wanted a bike, it makes me so jealous hearing bikers cruise around town during perfect summer weather, im just itching to get out there but i do need to get a license for it first. Im a pretty big guy though (6ft1 and 135kg) so i've been doing a lot of research for the ideal bike, i still have my moped (2005 gilera 50rcr) and that thing has ridiculous amounts of torque, despite my size that thing makes me feel like a feather and is very comfy to drive but obv it cant be compared to a proper bike. Im not looking for a new bike, idm it being early 2000s as long as it could accomodate a large fella comfortably.
No scooters? For urban commuting, it's hard to justify anything else. Super cheap, best gas mileage, tons of storage, no clutch, park anywhere, small wheels means very nimble, least maintenance (no chain, 1 cylinder, air cooled, etc), narrow for lane splitting, easy riding position, bench seat for passengers, cheapest insurance, best shielding from elements
The guy is reading a script. He has used all stock video and plagiarizing 98% of the commentary. Almost word for word copied from motorcycle ads and other reviewers. Lmao
Well done, a list of bikes which are indeed suitable for beginners as distinct from the usual recommended CB650s, MT07s etc which in my opinion are too much of a handful for new riders.
Excellent list and recommendations. New Subscriber. Glad to see you covered all different styles, and included Royal Enfield retro designs. I completely over-looked Yamaha SR400 and will consider that vs. RE Meteor 350. Really wish RE Classic 350 was available in USA 'cause the style is most appealing. Thanks for your videos !
When you talk about height, whats the limits/recommendations? I’m about 5’ 9”/5’ 10”, so should I look to stay away from certain bikes on the list? Thanks.
It’s hard to tell because every bike is a little bit different. But, I’m your height and did not enjoy the Rebel 300 at all, Really hurt my hips. I’ve ridden most the other bikes though and have no complaints.
I had a new softail Harley in 2010 spent $10,000 on custom parts and paint. Sold it after 10 years. Last month got a MT-07 and absolutely love the bike. Best part got it used with 800 miles for $5,800.
@@GUY-on-Earth cbr500r is a rly good bike. Real quick tho, before you buy or make your mind on any bike, take the MSF course. They provide the bikes and you can get a feel of what you really want to get. I got the cbr300r cause I knew after the MSF, that was the bike I wanted to get. If you get a bigger bike like the cbr500r there's nothing wrong with that. You just have to be mature enough to handle a little bigger bike I went with the 300 cause I heard it was a great bike, it was very forgiving, and easy to learn on. I also felt more comfortable learning on a smaller bike. In the end go with what is most comfortable to you and be honest with yourself. Also consider how long you'll be keeping it. Do you plan to upgrade in 6 months or in a few years? Whats the resale value? How much money do you want to put into it? Questions like that. okay so i began my fascination with bikes when i first spotted a grom and had my heart set one since then. i got my motorcycle license recently and rode a grom all during my course. i’ve been on the look out for one and set an appointment to order one once the 2022 come out. but i just started commuting during traffic hour every day for 30+ min so my bike needs have changed. should i still be a grom and get a cheaper/relatively older higher cc bike? get a newer beginner bike and get an older grom?? let me know yalls suggestion (p.s im in love w the SP 2022 model grom)
If you really like the grom then stick with it although I think they are more suited more for riding on city roads to get around town. If your riding at high speeds on your commute then I would suggest an older 600cc bike because they just feel easier to ride than 400cc unless you have funds to buy new
I had my heart set on a grom as well and actually went with a Honda crf250L instead and I am so glad that I did! It offers so much more power and is just so fun in comparison. I haven’t personally rode a grom, but I’ve seen them riding past and they seem so small and underpowered in comparison. I have about a 20 minute commute that I use my 250l for and it makes it so enjoyable!!
51 years old and went with the Royal Enfield Meteor 350 as my first bike. Pretty happy with it for commuting and casual pleasure riding. Not interested in racing or dying. Still may need a touring bike added to the garage in the future, maybe Honda NC750
Hey, I'm 19, I work as a delivery driver at a sandwich shop and thought I'd consider getting a motorcycle just for fun as well as maybe saving a bit on gas. I was wondering if you maybe had any suggestions of bikes I'd want to look into? I really could care less about how flashy it'd be, more so what I can get for the best price, mileage, and easy storage for delivering or riding with a delivery bag.
If you want a fast but safe beginner bike… I would recommend the H2R, the ‘R’ means reverse; that means you’ll have a much more easier riding experience.
Special request. Suggestions? Looking for a light weight 2 person capable bike. Will go on the back of a Semi. Grocery getter. Park exploring. No nerd for great speed. Utilitarian. Thanks. Team truckers, Amy and Steve
I think that bike is a bit too powerful and the ergonomics aren’t very friendly for beginner riders. That’s just my opinion, something like the Ninja 650 would better suit a beginner. The ZX6R has 130 horsepower and a weight of 400, those make a very small margin of error and aren’t very forgiving when you make mistakes.
@@essentialys6200 you gotta know that every beginner could buy a 1000cc, just if they are careful enough, ofc its not the smartest thing to do but i know some people who started riding with some 1000cc sportbikes, just stay safe and know your limits 🤷♂️
I love them cause you can buy entire engines for less than $500 (AUD) but more importantly, it’s okay it you drop it, and you will at some stage drop it or come off it.

It now shares my garage with my Royal Enfield Classic Green Bullet 500 and Vespa GTS 300 Sport. Keep up the good work!

Best Beginner New Motorcycles In 2021 :
- 2021 KTM Duke 390 (2022 RC390 more expensive and less comfortable)
- Royal Enfield 650 Continental GT (47hp of epic style, gorgeous retro look bike)
- Honda Rebel 500 (cool reliable cruiser beginner bike)
- Honda CB500X (if you want the ADV experience as a beginner)
- Royal Enfield Meteor 350 (stylish cruiser with turn by turn navigation)
- Yamaha R3 (the new RC390 has better tech and quickshifter)
- MT-03 (the new Duke 390 has better tech and quickshifter)
The KTM 390 for those who want light, easy to handle and technology filled bikes.
The Royal Enfield 650 Continental GT for those who want to learn shift on their own without quckshifter and have an awesome looking retro style bike that you can keep for decades because of it's timeless design and ergonomics and it will turn lots of heads and have people coming towards to talk about the bike.

Great video and recommendation for new riders to get a bike. Bikes are cool, but a good one is important for fun and safety! Thanks braddah!
I'm 6'2" 240lbs and bought a ninja 650 after basically sniping a really good deal on facebook marketplace
I can say with a lot of confidence as someone who went from basically 0 miles ever on a bike(on street, but dirt experience was from many years ago) to 300 in the same day, if you are willing to give it your all you can start 600cc+. Haven't dropped her once, hit a ton of stalls, but I've practically got it down after many fails. Still a ton to learn, but I don't regret buying a 600cc+ bike at all
This video was amazing, so many great options. So far I’m leaning a bit towards the Kawi ninja or the yzf r3
Yammie Noob has a great video comparing the two
I don't know anything about motorcycles, which is why I'm here. This is helpful.
I’m always here to help! Ask away!
@@kinglil546 any tips for finding good deals? Fools in my area are selling Groma for the same price at people 600cc bikes on places like OfferUp. I can’t even make sense of this
@@Generictingz95 I think that's just the market these days. Things are low on stock but in high demand, so we're stuck with inflated prices. Just look at the used car market; prices through the roof!

I had a hero honda passion pro 100CC as my first bike and I am still proud of it.
Personally i recommend a Suzuki Hayabusa best bike to start riding on

Commerce is such a good road for cruising never thought I’d see a video literally right in my area
Imo the perfect road bike for beginners is a CB 500F: 47hp, low, mostly upright driving position, good fuel economy and comfortable ride.
I had it for two years and went 5000 km with it, both commutes and long-ish trips.
Svartpilen and vitpilen 401 should be on the list. They are top tier beginner bikes.
man the intro and the way you have planned this video right of the bat i appriciate yor work and thoughts im beginner i have been riding 125 cc for quite sometime now only 3 mins in and i like the video already lets watch the rest of it
I really appreciate that! I want to help get as many people out there riding as possible and I thought this video would help people decide what bike would be best for them!
@@BurtoniMotors it definitely does i have my heart set on yahama r3
Also think the Svartpilen 401 should be there. Same engine as duke 390 but adjustable front and rear suspension, spoked wheels and looks better imo
OK, I looked it up. Feels like it should be in a Terminator movie, you know, when they show the future after Skynet takes over. 😉

That’s what I was gonna say😂😂😂😂😂

No scooters on the best list of motorcycles but I should probably make a best scooters video soon?

Well done, a list of bikes which are indeed suitable for beginners as distinct from the usual recommended CB650s, MT07s etc which in my opinion are too much of a handful for new riders.
Excellent list and recommendations. New Subscriber. Glad to see you covered all different styles, and included Royal Enfield retro designs. I completely over-looked Yamaha SR400 and will consider that vs. RE Meteor 350. Really wish RE Classic 350 was available in USA 'cause the style is most appealing. Thanks for your videos !

@@BurtoniMotors Awesome Thanks !
@@BurtoniMotors thanks man. I’m thinking of a naked bike maybe. It’s down the line, but I want one.

I started on a 2019 honda cbr300r. Personally x100 better than the kawa ninja 400
I’m thinking of starting on Honda cbr500r good idea?
Ik i typed a lot but it's stuff some people never hear lol
Why is it better than a ninja 400?
Duke 390, rebel 500, versys , Royal Enfield, grom, ninja 400,

What bikes are the two of you riding at the start and end of the video? What's the one in front of you with the number plate sitting at the right of the rear wheel? Looks pretty cool..
This video is good, coz the bikes are easily accessible no matter where you live. I am interested in electric bikes as well. Please make a list video on them as well.
Been wanting a Yamaha MT07 but that Royal Enfield 650 looks amazing!
Also…what bike is your buddy riding in the opening (with #54 on it)…is the an Enfield 650?
okay so i began my fascination with bikes when i first spotted a grom and had my heart set one since then. i got my motorcycle license recently and rode a grom all during my course. i’ve been on the look out for one and set an appointment to order one once the 2022 come out. but i just started commuting during traffic hour every day for 30+ min so my bike needs have changed. should i still be a grom and get a cheaper/relatively older higher cc bike? get a newer beginner bike and get an older grom?? let me know yalls suggestion (p.s im in love w the SP 2022 model grom)

Would’ve loved to see the Husqvarna Vitpilen/Svartpilen 401 on the list. Nice list tho
They both have a great look! These two and the Duke would be my preference.
If you want a fast but safe beginner bike… I would recommend the H2R, the ‘R’ means reverse; that means you’ll have a much more easier riding experience.

How do u feel about kawasaki zx6r. I'm hope to get into ride in the next 2-3 year and considering the bike
