I am just starting on my prostate journey with the first appointment next we’d April 24/24. Assuming the worst I have watched your very well explained video. One question . It appears that turp removes the tissue in the prostate including the urethra? If so then there nothing to contain urine inside the prostate ( ie urethra like tube ) hence the prostate becomes an extension of one’s bladder?? Could you explain? I’m confused. Thanks. 🌹

It is confusing, I agree. Like you mentioned, the urethra is like a straw that is in the middle of the prostrate. After TURP surgery, the urethra heals through re-epithelialization, which is a process that is similar to healing of a wound on your skin…

I've had the turp procedure, all the bs that goes with it - apparently , it didnt work because, not only do I still have BPH, but I have an obdominal tube that is also strapped to my leg ,that must be drained to rid the bladder of residual urine ( anywhere from 9 to 12 ounces ) every 2.5 to 3 hours and wearing a bag attached to said hose nightly being 47 ounces full upon waking. I log how many ounces I pee (3 to 6 ) and how many residual ounces left in bladder (7 to 12 ) - the obdominal hole where the hose comes out never heals and always has a scabby substance around it ( freakin nightmare ) - today, while out for lunch, when I stood up to leave , somehow, the tube plug came off and my bladder emptied, soaking down my leg - I had to make it to the car trying to squeeze the tube closed ( didnt work ) my wife had to go back in looking for and finding the plug on the floor - I think my Dr fckd up because I still have all the BPH symptoms and a fckng tube I cant trust in my stomach that they say I'll have for thecrest of my life - luckily, I'm 73 and theres not all that far to go - pissed off in SC.
