    I’ve had BPH for years. Found worse symptoms when I was overweight and not eating healthy. Ended up in Emergency twice with bladder full and couldn’t pass water. Had to start intermittent catheterization at home as a life saver.
    Then cut out sugar and processed foods and started walking, jogging, and biking. Lost about 60 lbs. and eventually stopped talking the ‘flow max’ drug.
    Symptoms got 80% better. Now at 70 and a BMI of 20 I am way better than I was at 60. No problem going whatsoever. Still have to go a couple times at night mostly because I drink water in the evenings before bedtime.
    Maybe there’s no fix but a good low carb diet with plenty of exercise to get the fat off along with intermittent fasting can help the hell of a lot.

    First of all, Dr Campbell is extremely knowledgeable and I have really gained by listening to his Covid-19 analyses of published works! I do want to mention one thing from this video though. The Doctor suggests that TURP is the "Gold Standard" in BPH surgeries. While I don't disagree that TURP, a procedure developed in the late 1920's is still used quite frequently across the USA, I'm thinking that designated it as the "Gold Standard" might be going a bit too far. (I'd be satisfied with "Lead Standard..." ) There are many more procedures that have been developed since the 1920's Some of these procedures work for some prostate issues, but not others. In any case, if you have been diagnosed with BPH and your urologist wants to sign you up for a TURP (as mine did) It might pay you to look beyond TURP and see what else is offered. (TURP for instance, has a relatively higher rate of transfusion and longer cathitor time other procedures.) One unfortunate thing is that many urologists may have TURP and one other procedure that they do, and I suspect that no urologist will undertake all possible procedures, yet they all may have payments on their yacht that must be met monthly. Didn't find a urologist who would review all possible options, but I didn't look near and far either. It really puts the onus back on the individual to do the homework and then consult with a urologist who does the one you feel is best for you to see if your prostate configuration qualifies for that procedure..

    • @nvan78
      @nvan78 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Agreed, there are several less invasive procedures available now for BPH. Have both low-grade prostate cancer (3+3) and BPH myself. The latter being the more limiting issue, already had several visits to emergency for urinary retention issues over a few yrs. Taking Flomax and Avodart together.

    I've watched a few of your videos now. I was curious about NCoV 2019. Thank you for all the info by the way. You should be a professor imho. You have an amazing talent for explaining things clearly and you are not above repeating things. I'm finding my curiosity for the human body is coming back. I was a child of 5 when I opened my mothers text books (she was a nurse) to find diagrams of all the muscles and organs and nerves. I'm starting to feel the fascination again and it's thanks to you. So, thank you. :)

    One thing the good Dr. did Not say was that DHT is a Growth Hormone like our ears and Noses Keep growing as we age so does the prostate, IT GROWS, you cannot shrink your ears or Nose by pills or diet, why would the prostate be different?
    The only thing you can do is bring ANY inflammation Down in the prostate , have been researching these things and am 67 years old next week, and almost daily I find new info that is fact and works in the quest for normal sleep, not all night getting up to hit the bathroom, lowering of stress, less food of spicy nature ( I Love spicy food, GRR) and just last night I learned of Castor oil for helping in anti-inflammatory action at the gland.

    I am 59, I had a hernia operation 2 months ago. As soon as I was released form the operation I had immediate complete urinary retention. The urologists thought it was maybe due to general anesthesia. Now they think it was pre existing and the operation sent me over the edge. Anyway. It is nasty to deal with and catheters are no fun at all.

For the love of nutritional science I beg you, a wise man does not regurgitate words he believes to be true but seeks truth and understanding before making his judgment.
