So I incorporated the idea of this drill but using a foil. Worked like a charm and felt good to have a drill. Cheers for this and look forward to your other videos!
Don't you sopouse to land on front leg first and don't get rear leg before the front one in flash atack? I use to compete with saber many years ago, but I found some fouls against rules as I remeber...Im talking about the prewiev part of video...but also i video about lunge...your hand is supoused to lead that lounge...even in footwork practice...Am I wrong?
In Saber fencing you are not allowed to cross your feet when going forward. So the flèche attack is not a legal move in saber fencing, however the flèche attack is perfectly legal in foil and epee. For saber fencing you would do a "flunge" attack where you push off and land with the front foot, never letting your back foot cross in front of the front foot. As far as the hand leading the lunge goes... You should check out this video where I explain and demonstrate this topic. th-cam.com/video/2pLhLoh_IWg/w-d-xo.html
This will encourage poor technique. No emphasis on the three fingers delivering the cut. Cut throughs look heavy - using too much wrist and forearm but also you need to be at a slightly longer distance. Not impressed.
