The Ice worm is the standard FromSoft gimmick fight. That means the boss is more for the spectacle than gameplay, and to mix up from the many list of AC or fairly big (relative to the player of course) size bosses. And when it comes to achieving that purpose, the boss is well done.
I just like hearing whinny baby Iguazu getting voluntold by Michigan to go on another field trip. I also like the part where he's the first to eat dirt. Also, Rusty being best bro.
What I've noticed when using auto-targeting you have to refrain from using the right stick to move at all so you keep locked on to the current target it's trying to focus on that's what its for. Then when their dead find a new target to focus on and leave it there, does get annoying but becomes easier once you start to understand it.
yeah while locked on if you move the right stick it'll try locking on to another target. refrain from using RStick when locking on unless you feel like swapping for any reason
i like how he says “how do i know where it comes from” completely ignoring the compass at the bottom of the screen telling him that and then is getting annoyed because he’s dying using a lightweight mech designed for dodging and barely moves and uses his thrusters to just go up.
In the live I admitted that I must be doing something wrong cause Idk what the pattern is or how I need to figure it out. Didn't know til much later about the compass 🤣
As a giant setpiece boss Ice Worm is great. Hearing Rusty's callouts gives me goosebumps everytime. "I won't miss." "Watch out for friendly fire." "115%....It's all or nothing." Just so damn slick, then HEARING the damn round suckerpunch through the air right into the Worm, just *chef's kiss*. But for a challenging mechanically deep fight I really enjoyed Ibis and the Guardian fights.
I feel you on that flying up thing but also going down can be a bit of an issue sometimes too I feel like vertical movement is somewhat lacking in this game
@@BlacksmythTV alright... My suggestion would be to read over the help thing in archives (same side as changing your pilot emblem). Reading over how it works told me to just take my finger off the joystick unless I'm finding or switching targets. Hope this helps on your never ending fight w/ lock on
Can totally Ice Worm without the Storm Ruler, but ammo to get through all of it is not your friend. I myself have managed 74% melee only attempt, but windows are way few and dangerous. Radar tracks the worm's direction, but its initial position is right in front of you at the beginning for the free shot before riding like a Rollercoaster for NPC dialogue to the left for like 15-25 seconds. Then the first red beeping is it in actual behavior mode.
Yea, I personally don't like the iceworm boss fight as well, I know it is a gimmick boss but to make the player hit a specific weakspot while it moves around like that and doing damaging attacks makes it an incredibly annoying and boring fight. My advise is when you see the red flashing warning on your lock on rectangel start boosting upwards, face the iceworm, carefully aim and fire the stun needle.
Most streamers and content creators just blast through the game and most of them don't take the time to explore the mechanics or options and never even find weapon bays as an option. But it's an "OP' mechanic 🤣 Your build wont benefit much from it, but a common build right now is having the Pile Bunker on your back and whatever weapons of choice in your hands and when you stagger you switch to it to punish. A big part though in making your melee and targeting work for you is your arms, booster and FCS. The game does a poor job of explaining Firearm or Melee specialization or melee boost to close.
If you're on pc, every time you use the hard lock on, dont move your mouse. Hard to learn that the hard way on fast bosses. I literally had to put it ontop of a cup.
I agree Besides enforcer ice woem is one of my least faverite bosses Story wise its great The callouts The idea Snail having to bow out early Mechanically (from my experience) its a lot of waiting (and i hate waiting lol) then just unloading into its face Rinse Repeat The callouts if you are too slow, forget stun needle or fail are funny tho
I agree with this title, it was pretty awesome the first time, but quickly became the worst boss in the game for me on subsiquent playthroughs, aside from the one with no checkpoints in the level.
It's a grand set piece to cap off a story bead... for every one of these videos, there's another 2 called "x boss sucks because it's too complex" and "y boss is too easy"

"I like All mind. All mind is cool as shit" this... will not age well
The mission where you kill the ice worm is probably one of my favorites due to the music, rusty firing the cannon as the music stops
Most anime thing ever thats why its the best
Yeah the gameplay for this mission might not be the most interesting (tho still fun) but everything else is soo amazing!

terrible opinion boss is great

Vs Carla is Itano circus basically.

Cant even assault boost upward and no way to drop faster than falling.
Question: are u usink MK or controller? I feel the game is better on sticks because of the lock on
Play on pc but use controller

You have to be in the moment to enjoy it.
I had trouble with the spooder boss so a nice feel good fight was just what I needed.
Legit the most entertaining AC6 streamer. Would watch all the way through NG+ & ++ if you decide to. 😳
Thank you
I agree
Besides enforcer ice woem is one of my least faverite bosses
Story wise its great
The callouts
The idea
Snail having to bow out early
Mechanically (from my experience) its a lot of waiting (and i hate waiting lol) then just unloading into its face
Rinse
Repeat
The callouts if you are too slow, forget stun needle or fail are funny tho
Smyth, be sure to play the story 3 times, until NG++
pick some tank/boat legs and do light hops after a kill. there's your teabagging lol
The boss itself sucks, its the fanfair around it and Rusty thats the good part. You shoot it with the special weapon a couplw times, then wail on it.
I hated this mission. But it did teach me to use the compass. Oh and the stealth mechs.

Imo difficulty doesn't make a boss good or bad. This one just doesn't feel fun* to fight.
But just how I feel about it, still a good game.
I wanna see you do commentary over PvP
Not usually much for PvP (specifically 1v1) but maybe
Boss was great epic moment only.boring bevause you are bored of the game... stop forcing to play the game
Complains about the game mechanics, yet plays like an IGN reviewer...
Lol I like this one
I agree that the Worm is a terrible boss. Lame combat
Sounds like bad taste
