I completely get him. I've loved his creations since the first time I saw them.
Love that John can make a living off his passion... Old + new = beautiful.
I watched this segment several times when it first aired and I still love it.
Love his stuff so much!! Was so excited to go to NYC and stop in his store and buy some of his beautiful work.
he has a good eye for utilizing art created by others.
one of the best segments of all time
And now he’s a top designer for targets Halloween special John Derain collection !!! I literally bought almost one of my each today he’s amazing!
Me too. I stayed up for the launch! Amazing indeed.
He doesn't cut up antique prints, the paper is not good for what he does. He makes copies and cuts THEM up ,,,
do you know on what kind of paper he prints out?
"gluing high-quality prints of the originals onto glass surfaces..."
John Derian has an unerring sense of proportions, and high quality objects. It would be a real pleasure to visit one of his stores in NYC. His artistic eye carries into his personal space. One item is particularly interesting: the entry door that looks like a bureau.
I simply love his aesthetic! Immediately ordered his picture book from Amazon. His shop will be a must see if I ever get to NYC! Thanks for the inspiration, John!
Que bonita visión de el arte el es único ♥️
A Must See Shop !
One Day .... Hopefully !
AMAZING!
I wish he make a 2nd sticker book
Interesting!
He has a sticker book out, got it from Target online ❤️
I love it!
I live this!
$60 for the paper weight, no wonder he has so much stuff!
$60 for a gorgeous and interesting paperweight.
So basically decoupage.
Would that be similar to calling Jackson Pollock's No.5 basically paint dribbles?
Yes, he started with a decoupaged plate and turned it into a huge business. Now that's talent.
Yes, but made with the best eye for design, the best glass, and the best quality images. So, no, it's not basic at all.
Cool!
Omg you had the opportunity to say PeaCoats
Two peas in a pod!
Taking somebody else's art is not "handmade".
Decoupage is an old handmade craft that uses existing prints.
😳😣 no. Just no.
