    Came for the guitar , not my cup of tea but understand the reasons why Ed would have used one , stayed for the comments 🤣 . He’s probably played more small / large gigs , spent more time busking , playing school fetes etc , more time learning his craft than most of us ever will , that’s why he’s where he is , okay his music might not be to your taste , coz that’s the best innit , 😂 ... coz he doesn’t play a drop D , 7 string and shout / mumble and er scream doesn’t make him a bad person or a lousy musician , can’t wait for the first “does it djent” though 🤣🤣 . Ooh that Adele’s great too 🎣

    Sounds great.
    Ed Sheeran is a bit of a conundrum for "serious" muso's, because he is obviously very talented, and a great musician, AND ...he has paid his dues by busking and gigging around for years before he "made it"...
    But...the "machine" has now turned him into a pop princess, beloved of mums and dads and Saturday night telly.
    So...
    Has he "sold out"?
    Should he have continued to grinde away for years and years, around the folk club circuit?...like Martin Carthy et al?
    And be poor?
    I don't know.
    It's a funny old "biz"...music. 🤔

    • @StreetPreacherr
      @StreetPreacherr 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yeah, he actually reminds me a bit of Justin Beieber! If you look into Justin's 'origins', he was actually a fairly talented multi-instrumentalist (guitar/drums) who started as a popular 'busker' on the streets of London (Ontario, Canada). Then one of his videos went viral and he got sucked into the 'teen heartthrob' pop music machine, and became more of a performer than a songwriter...

      @@S-T-E-V-E - Yeah, a gigging musician always has to think of practical issues. When I do an acoustic gig I'm sitting on a (very raised) drum throne which can help, though the 'arm over the guitar' thing on a dreadnought can still get uncomfortable after a while... and I'm 6'4", thus have long arms. My much smaller Talman acoustic is more comfortable, for sure. But I have to have that bigger sound, so I put up with the discomfort. On my other gigs, it's pretty much Strat all the way. My Tele, which sounds great, bruises my forearm. Oh well... at least I have gigs to play at and I'm thankful for that.
