Really good interview. I've noticed that in most interviews, the interviewers focus a lot on him as a person, his friendship with Taylor Swift, and forget or ignore the fact that his job is making music. Where as in this one, if was straight on influences, songwriting, touring, etc. I really liked that. Definetly going to watch more of the acoustic guitar magazine videos now!
This is like the best interview ever. He asked amazing questions really trying to see the soul of the artist and the source of his muse. Instead of those bubble gum lame pop questions most interviewers ask these days.
I don't think there's a modern-day pop musician who's more comfortable with a guitar than Ed Sheeran. His voice is amazing, and his guitar skills are insane. He's so naturally talented and he works so hard as well.
+Keaton Reinitz John bugs people though, he ruined what talent her has by being a mega douche. Everyone loves Ed, even black people dig Ed - go read the comments under the Breakfast Club interview.
Tuning down the guitar definitely helps us all last a little longer while playing live gigs. Ed sings a whole bunch of songs down a half or maybe a whole step and the average person most likely never notices the difference. A true artist this guy, and a great songwriter.
He’s a top guy and couldn’t wish for a better ambassador of our country and music. Well done Ed you’ve smashed it and deserve it. From a fan in Leeds , West Yorkshire not far from your birthplace,
I'm a Van fan from the 70's and even though he was inspired alott by Van, the tune still sounds uniquely his. I would insanely love to see Van and Ed do a duet on this and one of Vans. Van should invite him to a live gig. No shit.
these days so rare to see a performer like this ..im a performer too...but rolling that camera and to show the world that he never use any effect or mic...just raw and dry..and still he perform like this .... perfect.no autotune....real voice...real talent ..salute
Yeah i did the same thing lol, saw it in person and it really is fucking tiny. Im gonna get a taylor 314 or maybe something better, depending on how much i wanna fuck my bank account.
Left home at 16 to busk. How cool is that! He must have had a huge urge to play. He’s still playing for people, only the “tips” are more and he has other people organize everything for him. I wonder if he misses some aspects of busking? The spontaneity or freedom to just set up and play where you want when you want.
Ed Sheeran, has natural talent. He's playing in simple dropped D. Just wished that players, and songwriter's, did more than over simple pop ditties. Everything sounds like a Boy Band extravaganza. Ed has more promise than that, at least. And does show a pure love for playing the guitar. At least he doesn't want, or need a pitch corrector. Best of luck to Ed Sheeran.
This guy ha REAL TALENT THANK GOODNESS... WE STILL HAVE ARTIST LIKE THIS !!!!!! With SO MUCH PLASTIC MUSIC, IT'S REFRESHING TO HEAR a SIMPLE SONGWRITER, THAT CAN ACTUALLY WRITE A SONG WITH AN INSTRUMENT Aand NOT COMPUTERS !!!!!! BRAVO ED SHEERAN !!!!!!!!... YOU HAVE REAL TALENT

ED SHEERAN IS THE ONE WHO NEVER HAD EGO
True
And he sings like an angel
I think it's because he has overcome stuttering in his life ...
Sombody says that ed is a guitar hero, hell no
He does in a way everyone has ego only his is not selfish..
Glad Ed got a Grammy for this song. It's timeless . People of all ages love it and ask us to play it at gigs.
I hate this song
really man
Starman Tumbleweed screw you. if you think this song is bad, you clearly have no taste in music
Don't you just love how he sounds like his recorded tracks even when it is live.
Yeah, he is just amazing
Guys has so much talent
That's what good singer/ songwriters do and have done for decades hence Paul Simon, James Taylor Johnny Cash, Dylan etc etc etc

His guitar skills are far from insane, he is a class composer though
John Mayer? Lol
+the 1975 Sure if you keep practising you'd be comfortable with whatever it is you practised with.

I totally agree.

This guy is live almost better than on his album!!!😱😱😱
I think you mean he is better live ;)
Listen John Mayer's Neon sometime :)💎🙌
Myron D'cunha Go listen to Ian Thornley.
Real musicians are supposed to be better live.
Myron D'cunha yea Mayer is a lot better guitarist he’s up there. I have more students that want me to teach them neon then anything else
This dude is great. Awesome songwriter/ voice. Seems like a humble dude.
I love how this interview really focuses on the making, influence of his music! so cool :)
There is no one better that deserves the fame and recognition than Ed sheeran. He’s talented embraces his quirks and is humble!! No auto tune
I totally agree
this is such a good interview. :D i could listen to him talk about music for hours and not get tired of it. such a great guy.
Mia Lee yeah I’m like that as well his knowledge of music is just incredible 🎵🎤🎸m
He did alot of struggle and Hard work that's why he is today a huge name in music
Good interview from both parties - Ed still seems grounded - long may he stay that way and he gets all the rewards that are his due.
really think Ed is the real deal. just bought his martin X signature really great guitar for gigging
Oh, I love Ed Sheeran!!! There's really no one like him. His music is just fabulous, gorgeous, beautiful, wonderful, awesome!!!!
That man has a gift!
One of the couple of singers that sound good live and studio!
I'm a Van fan from the 70's and even though he was inspired alott by Van, the tune still sounds uniquely his.

Thank you for posting this. It's one of the best interviews with Ed.
Ed Sheeran is the cutest thing, I stg.

Him and weeknd should do a whole album together. Acoustic guitar with 80s drums and their almost raw vocals
This exact video made me fall in love with guitar and made me a huge ed fan
Fantastic interview from the host.
what a nice performance
This is the sort of stuff that you are born with. Raw talent and a local lad ITFC
Love ed sheeran music
Love the song and how he's playing the guitar!
My favorite artist
Awesome, now all i need is a separate vid for the song itself so i can @ this 2 my playlist :)
Great interview! Loved the choice of questions
i would do anything to have that guitar omg its beautiful
Not 15 but after 9 years he released a fully acoustic album which is probably the best of his work🔥
Just crazy talented.
Nailed it
I love this man
Fantastic songwriter
What an artist
I really liked this interview. His knowledge of music is just amazing and he knows what to do and he still stays true to himself 👍
Bola Oladapo I mean he like follows his heart when it comes to music not just trying to be the same as everyone else that’s why we love him

He played for the troops in Afghanistan... that's pretty awesome.
Could you imagine him playing for the Taliban? Now, that would be something.
Somkit huh?

@@sullivansongz protecting you bro
Xelric And he played you need me i dont need you, seems pretty ironic dont you think
THE VIDEO INSTEAD OF ACTUALLY SHOWING ED'S FINGERSTYLE AND WAY TO PLAY THE GUITAR DOES ZOOM IN INTO HIS FACE... CMON!!!!
Ed Sheeran. What a talent
He is better live.Pure talent♥️♥️

Great interview, Mark. Great sound quality & nicely done song. Nice job, fellas!..
Love him!
I wonder if he plays a tiny guitar because it naturally makes his voice more central in the mix. It would drive me crazy having so little bass
Man you good at it
Acoustic is the best cause it is original
This guy ha REAL TALENT
THANK GOODNESS... WE STILL HAVE ARTIST LIKE THIS !!!!!!

BRAVO ED SHEERAN !!!!!!!!... YOU HAVE REAL TALENT
Really talented guy!
Really like Ed Sheeran's music would like to see him great music and playing and video
Ed reminds me of a young Van Morrison, sounds great.
This is pretty darned cool....
So very talented.
Ed Sheeran is super talented! I hope to be half the musician he is one day!
It's not difficult to play guitar like him 🤣
The Rhythm really reminds me of the Van Morrison song Days like this
What I love about Ed Sheehan is he is so humble. Take example Sam smith, I'm not saying he's bad but you can tell when someone is naughty. You know?
+Isai Hernandez Totally. Ed is the sweetest. So refreshing! Walks the talk of his lyrics...
Isai Hernandez The majority of people that have met both actually say Sam is more humble.
Cause he knows deep down he's shit
And dont even talk about JB .. uhh! Ed is the best
HarryH TF you seriously believe ed is good?
Ed's got talent.. nothing wrong with the morrison redo it can't be beat.
Wow, frets are burning bright, I've just tried to follow the fingers but, That was just a hollow fight!
🍻🔥🎸
Longtime Van fan, Will be same Ed fan .. Fantastic song and arrangement Ed 👍👍👍

I want to talk to you ( puts on glasses) first about thinking out loud (removes glasses with other hand)
lmao! didn't even notice that
😅
Guitar is tuned full step down btw
I honestly should have looked that up I've been playing the song for 2 months and it's always sounded a bit off
Actually 1 tone
That's why I always wondered why does it sound different when i play the same chords. - Thanks :)
A full tone down because this in the key of C major and the studio version is in D major.
Someone know the chords please?
Pause at 5:13 ...definitley a Martin!!
I love his voice
The action on the guitar looks smooth as silk 👍
Love his voice 👌
BUTTER...
Awesome.
