  • This time on the channel, I tackle a water leak in the triton! I finally had a chance to get stuck into finding the leak and I show you what I found, What I did to find it and how I fixed it.

This model is a GLX MN so has a single piece window so easy to remove & reseal. I found it was a small pin hole leak/split in the factory sealant in the roof channel under the plastic.
Those with a GLX-R MN & ML triton, if yours leaks, Check your top corners in your three piece window assembly. 9 times out of 10 it is this that is allowing water into your cab. of if isn't the issue, follow the steps I did and have a look at the plastic trim and end cap.

This is a demonstration on how I did this to my vehicle. I will NOT be held accountable for any damages you may/can cause following these steps. if you DO NOT know what you are doing, Take it to a qualified auto mechanic and have them change it for you

That dirt is the whole way through the crack. So it’s needs properly cleaned the whole way through not just on top. As the silicon will struggle to seal any hole

I stripped all that new and old stuff after filming it. Put some new stuff down and hasn't leaked a drop sitting in the all the recent rain.

I had the same problem just the other day…where that yellow screw hole is, the seam to the left is only spot welded and then filled with silicon from manufacture..I found it by shining torch at night time with roof liner out

Yep took me a bit to find but it seems all sealed now hopefully. Not a good time when you are trying to find a leak and just can't find it. The factory sealant was real thin and useless! This video has already helped a few others in the same situation so can't complain about that🤙

Ended up being in the roof gutter. Stripped the silicone out and re-did it. Been good since

@@gettindirty4x4adventure hey thanks for getting back to me. So it wasn’t near the back window, where the screw is? But along the roof under the weather cover? Where the moulding clips are?

@@kirbysheriff4016 Nah turned out it wasn't that screw hole like I thought. Yep in the gutter I was cleaning at 4:08. Can't say if yours would be that spot without seeing it in person but do have a look and double check. I only found it by trial and error as you saw in the video. Can be anything from the gutter silocone, window silicone is bad and right to a rusted out window frame in the rear causing it.

What would that fix? The sealant had holes in it. The clips don't do anything in regard to the plastic strip and water getting in. Built some anyway for when the windscreen gets replaced and the strip is taken off again.
