sldkajghalhg love it. i love the little scar on his lip, and the dark circles around his eyes - little "flaws" like that just make him seem so much more realistic. wish there was more of that in the face-ups i see on youtube. beautiful work!
there are face-up's , but your work is more visionary, and truly artistic. I really loved watching you use these unusual colors , and the tiny details in the lips, and the blue in the lower lid hollow, once the green eyes went in, he came alive, I am in awe! Would like to have seen a little more definition, color in the forehead.
Hi thank you for the video do you have any more videos describing what you're doing and how you do it and what you're using I'm a new subscriber. Thank you!
My aunt used to make dolls....I don't recall what paints she used (if any), but I do know she would use normal human cosmetics on her dolls. She'd ask us to give her our old blushes we were ready to throw away or eyeshadow.
wlatian thank you! And before you begin your face up do you spray msc on the bjd and let it sit for a few minutes or begin immediately after spraying msc ?
Guillermo Magallon I always spray msc once on the blank head, wait 5 minutes, spray msc again (to make double sure the resin is completely protected) wait another five minutes, then start with pastels. Make sure to wait 5-10 minutes for drying time every time you spray msc between pastel layers, too. And as more layers of msc and pastel build up, you will likely need to wait longer, because it starts taking more time to dry. (You can tell if it’s dry by looking at it in bright light. If the surface is shiny in any spots then it’s still wet and needs more time. When the entire face is matte and no longer reflecting light I like to leave an extra 2 minutes to be certain, then it’s okay to paint and use pastels ☺️.)
wlatian thank you so much for the information I’m new to bjd face ups and I want to make sure I do it right! My bjd is also of darker complexion will the msc stain the bjd ?
Guillermo Magallon msc wont stain at all, so you’ve nothing to fear! Sometimes, when you remove a faceup from a darker resin tone you might notice white patches on the resin. A lot of people panic about this and think it’s staining/damage in some way. But it’s just leftover sealant which has reacted to the cleaning chemical and hasn’t completely come off (it happens on light resin tones all the time too, but we don’t notice it as much because it’s harder to see!). If this happens, just do another couple rounds of cleaning with 100% isopropyl alcohol, wash with soap and water, and you can rub very gently with a wet magic sponge if the white is being extremely stubborn. I’ve worked on several dark resin dolls and own five myself. Sometimes the leftover msc just takes a little more elbow grease on these colours to remove. (Again, this happens on lighter tones constantly also, we just don’t see it with the naked eye!)
It would be so much more helpful to have you explaining to us beginners what you were doing. The music was just annoying. I didn't find this a bit useful
using blue to make his skin more lifelike was a brilliant idea
