You talked about your friend committing suicide because of a broken person who broke them, but there are also a lot of of forms of suicide that happen as well. For me it was the suicide of my dreams, the suicide of my values, the suicide of how I should spend my time. I gave up a lot for a marriage and relationship that I told myself would last forever. The minute I chose me and set boundaries the relationship imploded and then exploded. Your words are a reminder to me to never go back to those codependent behaviors and ways of thinking that kept me trapped in a way of living that was slowly killing me.

I’ve been done with the “hurt people hurt people” and “nobody is perfect” cliche excuses. Some people are just evil and not a good person. That’s just it. I have a story too but I do not go around being manipulative to people or dumping my trauma on others. I don’t expect people to kiss my behind or throw me a pity part because of some things that I’ve gotten through and prayed about. Some people want to wallow in their past or like staying in victim hood. That is so toxic and hazardous to others. Those days are done allowing myself to be around or have those kind of Individuals around me. Walking alone has never felt so good. I know it will all make sense when I encounter the right ones.
