I bought my xm2s in the spring and though the new improvements are tempting its just too soon and a waste of money to upgrade in less than a year. Im quite happy with the sound of mine and at my age I doubt I will notice any subtle audio improvements.
Chris Walker i have the Sony xm2 and the Bose qc35. The sound quality of the xm2 is way better than the bose’s but the only issue that I have is the discomfort of the xm2 after about an hr of use, it feels a bit tight and warm. On the other side, Bose is really comfortable. It’s so light and doesn’t get tight or warm.
@@songone7607 Fair enough. I can wear mine for hours on end. After breaking them in with 150+ hours of use, I think they're actually more comfortable than the QC's. On first wear the qc's were more comfy but now it's not even close.
@@songone7607 When I was contemplating my purchase for noise cancelling headphones it was down to the XMs2 and the Bose 35 ll. I found the Bose more comfortable and the Sony's to sound better. I chose to go for the better sound although I do agree that the Sony gets warm and sweaty on the ears after about an hour. I believe the material on the ear pads are the culprit and I'm sure the Bose would have the same result. Pity they don't use velour as it's softer and won't sweat on your ears.
I lost my M2 few weeks ago, bought it on a bargain just before the M3 was released. Bought the M3 after that, the audio on M3 is a bit better, the noise cancelling is much better, M3 also much more comfortable especially on the ear cups part. My conclusion: if you do't have neither yet, then get the M3 and don't get tempted with the discounted price of the M2. If you already own the M2, upgrading is not necessary.
I have the M2. I have used my pair during flights and public areas. They work flawlessly. The battery life is also great. I can go two to three weeks without charging them with normal use. I don't think the M3 has enough upgrades when you consider how much they cost.

My m2s connect to my tv and computer at the same time. Computer always gets priority and will interupt the tv. This is not an advertised feature. Its a great setup for work at home.
Soft-touch material is a joke in my opinion. At first it feels nice but with regular use it starts to chip off and becomes ugly or when it has a few years on it, it starts to become sticky. My conclusion; it is a short term solution to add some premium feel to plastic parts. I own/have owned several product with this kind of finish, with none of them retaining the premium look/feel. (List of owned products: Denon Envaya BT speaker black version, Sony Ericsson Xperia phones, Cyrus Two amplifier, Bang & Olufsen TV)
Hey i wonder how well these works in rainy or cold weather conditions? I just bought latest WH-1000XM-3 model but I had to return them back to shop cos they didnt work in cold weather. My headband has worn out so much it makes noisy shifts and clicking noises. It's very distracting. I love the headphones except for this fact so I have no choice but to upgrade. Sony has yet to respond to my problem. I am sure they are aware of the problem since there plenty of reports.
In your review and in this comparison you state that the M2's Cant be connected to two devices. I got mine to connect to my pc and phone at the same time. By setting the bluetooth profile to call audio on the phone then connecting to my PC. So i can use them as normal on PC but when i get a call on the phone the headphones switch over. Just thought you and fellow owners would like to know. Since its such a massive gripe in your video.

I didn’t technically upgrade from the XM2 to the XM3. I upgraded my B&W P7 home headphones to the XM3 and the XM2 remain my travel / workout headphones. I’m happy with the XM3s.
gymcaddy, on what firmware are you running? if it is 2.0.0 for both of them i advise you to update the xm3 to 4.1.1. the next video you make then will be "xm2 anc better then xm3". all fun aside, you really should look into that issue.

Śound quality is shite compared to a pair of open air HiFi headphones , doubt this will change anytime soon so if you can't listen without great audio than stick with what you got ( I have the xm2, bad soundquality but I still rate them as the best headphones I have owned, second place is Bose inears with were just lovely until a family member broke the cable with a scissor) hope this helps some

So, I listened to these at Best Buy. There is about a 1/4 to 1/3 of a second delay on Bluetooth when watching TH-cam. Not a huge problem, but you will notice it if you look for it. On a side note, there was distortion when I listened to RTJ3 at high volume. It just couldn’t handle the bass. Otherwise, they sounded great and the ANC was amazing. But I think I will probably get the X950N1 instead for the better bass response even without the Extra Bass turned on. But that ANC on the XM3 is ridiculously good.
I use the xm2 for watching movies on tv and for gaming. I'm pretty anal about that kind of stuff and I haven't noticed any sort of delay. In my opinion, if im not noticing a delay most other people wont given that im pretty attentive to that sort of stuff. im sure if you try timing it you will see a delay but from a practical experience perspective there isnt any

Could someone help me. I just bought used 1000xm2 and there's a problem. When ANC is on they bost up the bass and sound better,but the bass is stronger in the right ear?! When i turn off anc they sound normal,alltough maybe a bit weaker..but ok.. I've tried changing settings in the app..when i change to ambient sound it's ok..but not with the anc on. what put me off from buying an M2 a few months ago was the cracking headband (even though it wasn't as prevalent than the M1). I'll still keep an eye out on amazon reviews and the like before I buy the M3.
My Sony WH-1000XM3 finally arrived today. These headphones won't charge at all. I can't believe this, didn't expext a flagship device to have such major issues. Really disappointed.
Mine is 8 months old. The out-of-the-box sound cancelling wore off right after my return/exchange warranty ran out. Now i can hear train track- not nearly as much as I do without the headphones, but there was a point when I heard nothing but whatever I had playing.
The moment you experience Viper4android if you're on Android, you will never ever be able to hear any headphones or earbuds without it again. If you can not use Viper4android then it's better to never experience it. The difference is literally night and day sound quality.
No iPhone is an advancement, they spit out 3 year old tech. These Sony cans are worth the money. I'd rather a flip phone then to ever pay for an iPhone.

Jacob Cárdenas As far as sound quality goes just avoid Apple, which would be the general consensus, but you can't deny LDAC capabilities and outright ignore them as not a technological advantage. Also, the second consensus is that Sony dethroned the bose in ANC and audio quality, hence the drivers argument, and I'd even go as far to say the battery life is way better than bose and that's not mentioning the touch interface.
You do know loudness doesn't equate to quality right? Most headphones are more than loud enough, the real question is the best value for money you're getting and bose sound like shit and tbh Sony dethroned the only thing going for bose: ANC. Oh, and the m3's are a waste of money; go for the m2's and save for the same features. You don't need USB C on headphones and the most noticeable things that matter in the headphones on the m3's aren't worth the cost over the 2's as theure essentily negligible, if not the same, and comfort was never a issue with the last model.

He seems to be using natural light. Most other TH-camrs and video creators use really white, bright lights- like ring lights.

Been looking for an ANC headset for travel and the gym and finally decided to scoop up a second-hand XM2s in like-new condition for about $210 :)

I use the xm2 for watching movies on tv and for gaming. I'm pretty anal about that kind of stuff and I haven't noticed any sort of delay. In my opinion, if im not noticing a delay most other people wont given that im pretty attentive to that sort of stuff. im sure if you try timing it you will see a delay but from a practical experience perspective there isnt any

@@TheDrepsOfficial No, ive worn them for around 4 hours in a row without any heat. sometimes the top band will become uncomfortable after 3ish hours. also the xm2 are 199 on black friday instead of their normal price. I'm waiting for bose to release a new headset to compete with sony. I returned my xm2 to costco since they had a 6 month return policy on that pair. I'm going to buy another pair of either the xm3 or the rumored qc45s

Could someone help me. I just bought used 1000xm2 and there's a problem. When ANC is on they bost up the bass and sound better,but the bass is stronger in the right ear?! When i turn off anc they sound normal,alltough maybe a bit weaker..but ok..
I've tried changing settings in the app..when i change to ambient sound it's ok..but not with the anc on. It runs 4.1.1 firmware.

I am in the market for a pair of nc headphones. What would be the best option. Go strait to the mark3 or pick up a chieper mark2. I live in the Netherlands and our black Friday sale is way smaller. The change of picking up the m2 with discount is bigger than a m3. What do you guys think is it worth the extra money. So far I have no comparicent. I use a pair of jabra move headphones. 😂😂
I just did pick them up for $200 on the elite plus early sale. I was tempted on the M3 but I am waiting for the M4s and hopefully they get Bluetooth multi connect like the Bose.

what put me off from buying an M2 a few months ago was the cracking headband (even though it wasn't as prevalent than the M1). I'll still keep an eye out on amazon reviews and the like before I buy the M3.

It works with any Bluetooth device I think. But it has an app on iOS and android to have more features.

I would say xm2. They are flagships of their time and I think are gonna be better than the XB 900N
I got my m3’s for $350 and the all leather headband makes me scared of flaking from wear and tear

My Sony WH-1000XM3 finally arrived today. These headphones won't charge at all. I can't believe this, didn't expext a flagship device to have such major issues. Really disappointed.

Was pretty upset when the xm3 came out because I think xm3 is a lot better than my 6 months old xm2. :(
Mine is 8 months old. The out-of-the-box sound cancelling wore off right after my return/exchange warranty ran out. Now i can hear train track- not nearly as much as I do without the headphones, but there was a point when I heard nothing but whatever I had playing.
The moment you experience Viper4android if you're on Android, you will never ever be able to hear any headphones or earbuds without it again. If you can not use Viper4android then it's better to never experience it. The difference is literally night and day sound quality.

As far as sound quality goes just avoid Apple, which would be the general consensus, but you can't deny LDAC capabilities and outright ignore them as not a technological advantage. Also, the second consensus is that Sony dethroned the bose in ANC and audio quality, hence the drivers argument, and I'd even go as far to say the battery life is way better than bose and that's not mentioning the touch interface.

You do know loudness doesn't equate to quality right? Most headphones are more than loud enough, the real question is the best value for money you're getting and bose sound like shit and tbh Sony dethroned the only thing going for bose: ANC.
Oh, and the m3's are a waste of money; go for the m2's and save for the same features. You don't need USB C on headphones and the most noticeable things that matter in the headphones on the m3's aren't worth the cost over the 2's as theure essentily negligible, if not the same, and comfort was never a issue with the last model.
