Hello funny banana man, today I was able to play valorant again after a long time. All the lessons i learned from your vids helped me identify where I was lacking and pointing out my mistakes clearer and more digestable. Even though im still bronze I was able to get those satisfying matches where me and my team play our best up until overtime and get sad because 15-15 ot just drawed. I even got better comms because of exposure to your vod reviews hahaha. Anyways love the vids funny banana man!

For me, I've been going light armor more frequently since 4 vandal body shots kills you anyway regardless of the armor and getting 1 tapped just waste extra 600 credits. The only time I don't go light armor is if the enemy has heavy sentinels like Killjoy or if the enemy uses Phantom because 140 headshot kills you immediately.
I’m about to try only going light armour EXCEPT against phantoms as well after watching this video. It feels more reassuring that someone has the same strat I was just thinking abt. Hopefully it’s more efficient
@@TurboSauceOA It really doesn't mater, if you get headshot by a phantom the following shot will kill you anyways, the reason is it still takes four shots for the phantom and vandal to kill ya
@@juliansinghbassi5320 nah, the amount of times I got headshot by a phantom and survived is a lot, it happens quite frequently. Although I think light shield is way better but this thing with the phantom really is something to think of

For years I've had mwheeldn bound to primary and mwheelup bound to secondary. I specifically set it up that way in CS to juggle guns easier. You also don't lose mobility while changing weapons.

I think that what you are trying to say is that old and very correct adage: You have to know the rules to know how to break them.
Flow charts are just the rules. First you need to know the rules and why they are rules, and then you can break them in the cases in which the rules do not apply, or other solutions are better.
When a student breaks the rules, it is because they do not know any better. When a master breaks the rules, it is (usually) on purpose. Not all the time, as every master is still a student.
One of the funniest examples of this is Picasso: His early work (as in when he was almost a child) were very academic and masterful, and then he "got worse" by "the rules".
The difference between a student painting "a Picasso" and Picasso painting, is that the student is doing random things, and Picasso is trying to experiment with some art concept, like perspective, composition, etc.

Great vid! I wanted to comment on the light v heavy portion where you said we’d need to be able to measure results in the exact same scenarios in parallel universes to make a conclusive argument one way or another.
I think you probably already know this but think it’s important to clarify for the viewers that you weren’t being literal. I would guess 99% of math models are not 100% conclusive because as soon as there are multiple independent variables you can’t completely isolate variables nor assume causation with 100% confidence. That said, we can get really, really close to being sure about factors causing certain results using different models. Wanted to clarify since I think a lot of people misunderstand statistics and shit on analytics in traditional sports / esports because of that inherent uncertainty.
The crouching with shotguns is such good advice. Its something i knew that happened but my brain didnt put 2+2 together until this video. Hated shotguns. Watched video. Got home from work and immediately got a solit game and got 4 bucky and 5 shorty kills (both on save and buy rounds). Now to go watch the “everyone messes this up” and learn how to use lmg’s
i think the 32:00 thought on armor is valid in elos where it's less often to die to headshots. my theory is that full armor is going to be worth it every day if you're playing in low gold and below because chances are, you're surviving to bodyshot or even leg shot Andys more often than you'd think.

Light armor against SMGs or odin sounds like a bad idea, don't you want as much HP as possible against eco buys especially if you have gun advantage? I agree with every other scenario that light armor is better though!

yeah even in the 5v2 scenario, i also think its better if we can manage flawless round by playing with higher conversion rate on close round like that (4-3 in this case 28:42)... Saving more credit to snowball even harder... in strat fps like valo, every small mistake/details every round is impacting the next round... Thanks Mr.Bananaman for the knowledge n game senses u sharing, my aim is slow improving (cz im a boomer) but still able slowly climbing while having fun...

im silver and i always choose between the phantom or vandal, depending on what strategy im going to use, like, if im going to push and i know i will be a lot closer to my enemies, I choose the phantom, but if the fight is long - mid range, i always use the vandal for the taps :P. I started the game a few months (never played a lot) but this weeks I started seeing your videos, improving my game, and i went from bronze 2, to silver 3. Thanks for your videos!
Can u explain some key points making transition to silver I have reached silver but I have off games, even though I'm using util decently with jett, viper. Also due to rank reset, all silvers n some golds have been ranked to bronze makin it harder for me to climp up.
@@sarthakrajan2387 hey I might be able to help Im an immortal player here, one thing ive noticed from waching my low elo friends playing valorant is that the pacing of the team is off. Take a moment to take it slow and just be patient, I can tell you just from experience a lot of lot elo players will be impatient and dry peeking you ending up in free kills. Im not sure why its not talked about a lot in lower ranks but pacing matters just as much as movement. I can have some bad games in my ranked games but because of my pacing my team is able to trade off me. One major mistake is how you position in fights, isolate your fights and I promise your winrate will skyrocket.
@@TetGodOfGames Yeah, I've actually started to notice my team's utility usage and playing off it, not blindly pushing and also doing nothing when I have the info of their location and they don't have mine. I've using the awp on attack which catches my enemies off guard. I'll keep the pacing tip in my mind cuz I've never seen someone actually talking about this like u said. It'll be better to get traded rather than dying solo and stuff like that.

@@sarthakrajan2387 dont be afraid to push out for space, very common for low elo is that just stay exactly where they like playing. For example there could be 4 enemies pushing out mid so you respond by pushing out onto A/B main and maybe take a 1v1 duel there or if nobody there you're in a very good angle to retake/hold site from. Dont be afraid to take duels, especially when you're down numbers, sometimes you just have to take a risk and take an unfair fight that can win you the round.

About the light armour vs heavy armour thing:
Light armour is ideal because theyre more likely to play close angles with the phantom, and thus heavy armour doesnt achieve anything. Is that right? I always assumed the opposite, because theres more phantoms on split and thus the chance of getting 140 headshot is higher than most other maps. But that would more likely mean that your opponent is playing bad distances for themselves, and thus at higher ELO you're less likely to get 140 headshot. I'm just trying to understand bananas logic, even though he said there's no right answer

I have been using light shields for a very long time and I think I found the set of questions that tell me whether or not it mattered.
If I die to 150 or more damage, then the light shields didn't matter.
If I die to less than 150, then the light shields isn't worth technically, but if you won the round, then cool, you saved money and in the end, the shielding didn't matter.
If I lose a round and died to less that 150, then I can see I lost us that round personally, but that happens a bit rarely and I can still buy a gun appropriate to my situation.
And I do get heavy shields, but it's when I know that I will be able to buy the rest of the rounds with full everything and it would be dumb not to maximize that potential. I almost always have a buy and there are some occasions where I have to save and stick to a pistol, but then I just play with light shields and a ghost or frenzy and play passive and unpredictably.
There are definitely games where I have a lot of chip damage on me, but I just know that I can't hang on those rounds and I keep at it. This is just my own experience, maybe you're dying alot to less than 150, but if you keep going at it, you'll be able to see the pattern.
A note that I have though is that if a teammate is "saving" a gun, normally that is fine because of how much people spend on their heavy shields, but if you're doing light shields, you need your team to fight and die so that you'll be able to buy on your next round. The OP is a good save though.
I also tend to check in my timeline to see how much I die to not having enough shields and whether or not we won the round or not and where the enemy was when they killed me so I know if it was at a long or short distance.
If you are about to cap at 9k, buy enough to put you juuuust under 9000 and usually if you have it like that, I think you'll be able to at least buy the last 5 rounds fully equipped with heavy shields.
I have one of my mouse buttons for primary weapon so juggling is pretty easy for me

in higher Elo light armor seems reasonable since most of the time they can one tap u, in lower elo heavy armor makes sense since they rarely one tap u, unless they have smurfs..
