You can always tell a good onion ring by the way it crunches and if you can bite through it. The Bubba Burger looked fantastic but so did the basic one! We love seeing the furbabies!!!! Don't listen to the Negative Nancy's. We love the dogs!

While we normally don't put those on in our own vehicles, we were in a rental car at that time, and rental companies charge hundreds of dollars in cleaning fees for things like that. So, in order to be safe, we put those on as an added protection against accidents. The person thought that was "very distasteful". We didn't even notice it in the video, until they let us know how much it bothered them. Their comment is now gone. They literally picked apart several things in that video, and informed us we should not even have posted it.
Video was great, food well described and looked wonderful for burgers, etc. As for the cutest babies in the world, Hey that's life, if someone doesn't care to watch little angels in the back they are welcome to move on. Over all, very pleased with everything.

The big winged insect is a Dobsonfly. They hatch beside the river and are called Hellgrammites. As Hellgrammites they live in the river, you can find them under rocks. Around August they come out of the river and become what was hanging on the burger building. Fish love them in both phases and they have a set of pinchers on their head that can bring the blood if they get you with them.
People want to complain about anything I think it’s great that you’re taking your dogs with you on your trips instead of boarding them and you don’t know how they treat them where they’re bordered in a place

I’ve found, sometimes those little places we overlook are the best. Im sure you saw inside when you were ordering… s very obvious that everything is cooked to order and fresh. I always get a double because the Pattie’s are thin. However… they aren’t TOO thin! It’s truly a mom n pop place and all the locals go there. It is a little frustrating with the hours… but I suppose if it were me and doing everything with family… as long as the quality is there; I’ll accommodate their hours. Im so glad you had a good experience! You know, this day and age, you almost are reluctant to refer folks. We watched your video about BJ’s (we live in Maggie Valley) so decided to drive down there today & try their hamburgers & onion rings. You are correct…..they are very good. We’ll go back again. But, they ARE open on Saturday! Closed on Sunday & Monday. That electric sign in the window isn’t up to date. I asked the Cherokee lady taking the orders at the window & she verified that. Before we drove I looked them up on Facebook & their hours on there said closed Sunday & Mon. So, no big deal but it’s nice to know you can stop by on Sat. Thanks for the video. Now, if ever in downtown Canton, NC, stop by JRO’s Burgers & Subs on Main Street. Best burgers we’ve ever had, ask for it on the pretzel bun. I promise you’ll love it. Most everything there is good. They are always busy. We go on almost weekly.

Hopefully, they have changed that, and hopefully they will update their sign very soon. Because it does continue to show that they are closed on Saturday. It's good to know that is not the case. General rule for these parts of western NC near cherokee: Closed Sunday and Monday. Closed daily 2-4. Closed for season after the fall Or Christmas. It’s a pain to many who aren’t use to it. For locals, it’s a pain, but your use to it. So. They open back up around April. Im talking mom N pop/small restaurants. Always check google or their page. Everything also changes/has changed since covid and we still have help issues . Believe it or not… it’s still an issue. For this lace- it’s mom n pop n you work full days (before opening and after behind the scenes. It’s just your family and small Operation. You get burned out and close Sunday minday and winters.

The dogs are very cute and do not deserve any criticism at all. We sometimes travel with our "fur baby". If you are in the Clyde/Canton area, a couple of restaurants you might want to try are The Blue Roosted (in Clyde - open M-F) and The Black Bear (Canton). Both feature good, down home cooking. Never had a meal at either that I wouldn't try again. Keep the reviews coming!

Thanks for building another accurate and enjoyable JOurneY Vlog... It Sounds Crazy -- but making a bathroom like that in NC is OK - to do__. As long as it is not inside a residence and no electrical outlets or breaker boxes are involved -- then a "plumbed" little shed does not require a permit to build. -- I built one for my backyard campsite for friends and family to enjoy. (no permit still does not mean it's a cheap investment so much tho - I got about $4K in mine).
It’s also on the reservation. The reservation does their own requirements and I can assure you it’s tied into the correct services; without dealing with any state entities .

Exactly! Since our son moved to over an hour away from us, it's not as easy to get him to come up and watch them, like we could before.

We watched your video about BJ’s (we live in Maggie Valley) so decided to drive down there today & try their hamburgers & onion rings. You are correct…..they are very good. We’ll go back again. But, they ARE open on Saturday! Closed on Sunday & Monday. That electric sign in the window isn’t up to date. I asked the Cherokee lady taking the orders at the window & she verified that. Before we drove I looked them up on Facebook & their hours on there said closed Sunday & Mon. So, no big deal but it’s nice to know you can stop by on Sat. Thanks for the video. Now, if ever in downtown Canton, NC, stop by JRO’s Burgers & Subs on Main Street. Best burgers we’ve ever had, ask for it on the pretzel bun. I promise you’ll love it. Most everything there is good. They are always busy. We go on almost weekly.

I know when we went there last October on a Saturday, hoping to try it, they were closed. Hopefully, they have changed that, and hopefully they will update their sign very soon. Because it does continue to show that they are closed on Saturday.

General rule for these parts of western NC near cherokee:
Closed Sunday and Monday. Closed daily 2-4. Closed for season after the fall
Or Christmas. It’s a pain to many who aren’t use to it. For locals, it’s a pain, but your use to it. So. They open back up around April. Im talking mom
N pop/small restaurants. Always check google or their page. Everything also changes/has changed since covid and we still have help issues . Believe it or not… it’s still an issue. For this lace- it’s mom n pop n you work full days (before opening and after behind the scenes. It’s just your family and small

I honestly have no idea what that person's issue was. This was right after the video where she made that comment, and since they were in it, I guess that is why I mentioned it.

Thanks for the review, my wife and I will be heading there in the very near future. I had never seen your channel before, and I subscribed immediately. The dogs are very cute and do not deserve any criticism at all. We sometimes travel with our "fur baby". If you are in the Clyde/Canton area, a couple of restaurants you might want to try are The Blue Roosted (in Clyde - open M-F) and The Black Bear (Canton). Both feature good, down home cooking. Never had a meal at either that I wouldn't try again.

Best burger in NC to me is Johnson’s Burgers in Siler City. Hrs 10-2 Tues- Sat. We drive from Raleigh 2-3 times a year. because they are so good. Enjoy your videos!

We agree. I did respond to the person, because they made several ridiculous and invalid criticisms of the video. I left the comment up for about 2 days, so that they would have a chance to read my reply. I then removed it. Didn't need that kind of negativity on the channel.

I just read several reviews about this place and most all of them were good. The food looked good. I don't think I have ever noticed this place when I was in the area.

That bug is a hellgramite. Some people use them as bait for fishing.
That was my thinking at first, but I have caught those before, and they look slightly different. I think it is actually a Dobson Fly, which may very well be a type of hellgramite.

Thanks for building another accurate and enjoyable JOurneY Vlog... It Sounds Crazy -- but making a bathroom like that in NC is OK - to do__. As long as it is not inside a residence and no electrical outlets or breaker boxes are involved -- then a "plumbed" little shed does not require a permit to build. -- I built one for my backyard campsite for friends and family to enjoy. (no permit still does not mean it's a cheap investment so much tho - I got about $4K in mine).

It’s also on the reservation. The reservation does their own requirements and I can assure you it’s tied into the correct services; without dealing with any state entities .

Thank you for watching and for commenting, and yes, someone did criticize our dog in a video. It was our first Culver's review while we were in Wisconsin, and she thought it was distasteful, that he got up behind us in the vehicle wearing a dog diaper. I explained to her that this was a rental car, and I did not want to pay hundreds of dollars of cleaning fees if he were to have an accident.
That person has not come back to any of our video since then, and the comment is gone now. Some people just like to have something to criticize.

Yes, this person apparently did, along with several other things they let us know bothered them.
What upset the person, was in the end of our Culver's video, one of them appeared very briefly, in a dog diaper. While we normally don't put those on the dogs in our own vehicles, we were in a rental car at that time, and rental companies charge hundreds of dollars in cleaning fees for things like that, should there be an accident. So, in order to be safe, we put those on as an added protection against accidents.
The person thought that was "very distasteful". We didn't even notice the dog in the video, until they let us know how much it bothered them. It was a very brief moment where the dog climbed up where it was visible in the video.
Their comment is now gone. They literally picked apart several things in that video, and informed us we should not even have posted it.
