- This video covers two daytime sessions in the town stretch at Aldeburgh, Suffolk, UK (filmed on 21.01.22 and 27.01.22). The first was a session over high tide on a spring tide and the second was fished over low water and part of the flood on a neap tide. Whiting, pouting, and dabs were caught. Rigs and scratching techniques are covered.

Michael, what a beautiful film! Thank you.
Glad you enjoyed it Terrence and thanks for watching.
Nice to see you out again . Tight lines .
Thanks for watching again John.
Such dedication . Tight lines .
Many thanks for that John.
Another nice video, I really do enjoy all of your videos and you’re one of the first “you tubers” I started regularly watching along with “Fisho” it would be nice if you could have an away day up here on the Holderness coast and show us how to catch the codling 👍🏻
Great of you to say that and so well timed - your requested video is on the way in a couple of weeks Steven!
Really enjoyed this one rod, all the best bud 👍
Many thanks for that👍
Great video again, compulsive viewing for an aging angler like me.
Thanks again Tony.
Well considering the time of year I'd say they were both good outings.. enjoyable and informative...
Thank you ..
Glad you enjoyed it and thanks once more for saying so.
@@rodsangleuk6283 always a pleasure and I guarantee my continuing support...thank you ..
Always good to watch and learn plus new locations thanks for video
Many thanks for that - yes I intend to cover lots of different venues and marks and trying to catch; rather than just heading to ones that are fishing well at the time and packed with other anglers.
Great video Rod
Thanks 👍
Hi Michael, nice to see you back in sunny Suffolk. Both of the days that you fished looked lovely weather wise. Really looked a picture with those lovely seaside houses in the background. Strange that there were no other anglers on the beach. Plenty of whiting obliging as usual but they all looked painfully thin.
Thanks Chris 👍. Yes, its a lovely venue, but not many anglers around at the moment, as its not fishing that well. There are fewer whiting around as well and as you say, the aren't of good size.
Another great vid Bud.
Many thanks for that Rick.
Nice upload, full of tackle balls that place especially after a storm.
Hope you picked up some chips for lunch.
I always walk up past the tower its a slog but the lack of public and dog walkers suits me for a few hours peace and quiet.
My first night trip was there as a youngest never seen so many tillys on a beach, happy memories 😊
Thanks for posting.
Thanks Keith - yes, when I used to fish there a lot, I would normally walk well past the groynes at the Martello Tower; however I understand that its not currently fishing well, with only the aerials being marginally better.
Nice video sir, much sport had , great info and tips as usual, thank you 👍🏼
Thanks for that.
Who does your videoing Michael as I never see a shadow it really bugs me. I find your videos so calming and a joy to watch.
Thanks for your kind words. I do all of the filming and editing and try to edit out the shots with camera shadow. I wish I could edit in some bigger fish!
Thanks Rod always good info . Two reports for you Gallaways jan 23 1 whiting.Dungie point low water yesterday 17 Whiting 9 Dogfish 35 Dabs on frozen lug sometimes tipped with sprat mackerel or cuttlefish.
Thanks for the info again Gary - well done; that's a lot of dabs at the point - hope some were sizable.
Hi I've been fishing aldeburgh and shingle for year or so now and always use wire grip leads. Will try contental leads and get into those galleys
Good luck!
Hi Mick. Two busy, and productive, sessions with good weather as well...and no (well very few) people. Nice! Do you think that your freshwater match angling experience and skills have any effect on your sea angling and if so in what way? A question I have been meaning to ask for some time. Looking forward to your next video. Keep healthy. Cheers. Ken
P.S. Forgot to say...another great video!
Thanks Ken. Yes match fishing experience helps - you generally fish for bites and prioritise not blanking (particularly in team matches). I use small hooks, fine hooklengths and braid for most of my feeder fishing, so that was a natural transition to sea fishing approaches. Match fishing is more active than pleasure fishing, so you tend to change things around more if your not catching. That's not to say I'm against chucking out large baits and waiting for a big one to take - when the odds of catching favour that I'll do it.
Hi Mick. Thanks very much for your interesting and informative reply. Cheers. Ken
Good video mate. A bit of a slog this time of the year but it's better than eastenders right! Tight lines everyone 👍
Thanks for that 👍 Yes - not many places fishing well at the moment.
Enjoyable, as ever. How come you always seem to fish an empty beach ? Maybe you should wash your bib&brace ! Only joking, looking forward to the next adventure.
Great idea - or buy a new one! I normally sea fish weekdays and am finding that more and more venues are now devoid of anglers fishing - maybe they just go weekends, or to the same marks, chasing reports from social media.
@@rodsangleuk6283 I agree, a friend and I had Shoreham east arm to ourselves this wk, and had a great session.
Broadstairs Rod had big whiting and a big dog thought was Huss other dog tangled it's self right up in everything came in like a sack!
Thanks for that report Buck - at least a decent dogfish can give some sport.
A Honest Fishing Video
Thanks Paul 👍
you're a very thoughtful angler :-) One thing that makes me cringe though is when you put your rod & reel on the sand....sand is a reel's worst enemy!!
Thanks Ian - yes, that's not a great idea. I use the same reels too often and they need servicing soon and one needs oiling now!
promosm ?
Had to look this one up Nick! Everything I post is genuine and no trickery is used to acquire subs or views, with income from ads going to health related charities. I post as a hobby and hope some of the content is of interest to fellow sea anglers and might help them and others find out about new venues and how to catch fish from them. I'm completely unaware of how TH-cam puts out video suggestions to others and am not interested in companies that offer 'services' / bot use etc. - I just focus on my fishing and putting out a decent representation of what happened in the sessions that form that part of my content.
