NCB needs to 👀 internally. I worked in retail financial services in NYC for many years and whenever there was a theft they often times look at staff and their circles. This happens at NCB too often and reeks inside job. It’s scary and shameful.

People are forgetting Jamaica runs on cash when you actually live there. Credit cards are for tourist districts and really just hotels. Not saying stores don’t have it but it’s more likely to only be used in big places like a furniture store or booking a flight ticket or Occasionally grocery store. Wouldn’t advise anyone use credit card in the Likkle man shop (machine would probably be down anyway and they want cash).

It's a recent phenomenon, alot of elaborate skimming devices, you have to check the machines thoroughly before using and do a series of checks. It helps also that you don't have a card attached to you main account or account that you receive cash often in you should transfer online in small increments from that account to 1 where cash is hardly kept and for that you have a card for

I'm sorry this happened to you hun. I mostly use my CIBC and JN card at Scotia and sometimes JN (JN tend to be out of service often). I rarely use NCB because it's a bit out of my reach most times. I also don't like the fact that the ATMs at NCB are so open. It's nice that they have a few ATMs for convenience but they're not private enough.

@@superwomanme I was constantly using my debit card to make purchases on social media links, which exposed my card to overseas scammers. I had $2900.00 in my Checking and they made four ATM withdrawals of $600.00 each from my account, before my bank and I were ever alerted.
I had to notify my bank and they started the investigation and immediately closed my card. However two weeks later they again attempted to clean out my account this time through my ACH routing and account number. This time my bank caught it in time. I subsequently changed all my banking info.
It took over two months for the bank to reimburse me my money.
I was told to stop using my debit card for frequent purchases and instead use my credit cards with the best rewards and fees and only use my debit card to pay my credit card bills instead...🤔

@@anneshaadams A fun fact is that your credit card is insured against fraudulent charges and your money will be replaced with a new card expeditiously. The security on credit cards are also much higher than debit cards because it’s the banks money so they take more care with it and as long as you don’t pay late and pay on time it helps your credit and there’s no interest rates. The benefits of having a credit card are actually great. I would just say limit the max on the credit card if you ever decide to do so!

Some people watching you may think that you have a lot of money because they see you spending a lot of money. Shopping, eating out, and having fun. THEY DON'T UNDERSTAND THAT YOU ARE SHOWING A SORT OF LIFESTYLE. They rarely or never see you at work, working hard to earn your money, or going to the local library to study up on things.

She lost $600 and said it wasn't much money and then she intentionally lost $50. She does have a lot of money, there's no think about it.

Perhaps personal cash is always the way to go. Trade Canadian dollars for Jamaica money as you need it. This way if Jamaican currency fluctuates, you always have purchasing power with the Almighty Dollar.
Mexico is a good example of this.

Did anyone have access to your card? Cause someone I know relative took her card and cloned it when she was asleep. Using the same device you showed at a atm in St. Andrew. Security footage helped with her investigation though. Be careful who you leave your stuff around.
