    Thats a good looking old Deere... Me and the boy went out and fired our tractors up today, they all popped right off. They have been sitting since Oct in the shed.. Thanks for the history and walk around Will...Looking forward to your 40 project....

      Thanks Brent. I was going to give a little preview of the 40 issues but I talked about the 50 too much and figured to save that for another day. The 40 repairs should be good for a few videos. I'm figuring out this editing stuff one video at a time.

      @@Pennies_on_the_dollar There use to be oodles of little JD crawlers around here. The loggers used them for skidding wood after the days of horses....I'll see you over at Ed's later....lol

      @@farawayfarm2520 , every time I see the guy, he tells me to come over. He really loves the 50. there was absolutely nothing wrong with it when he came and picked it up. It was a bit of a sad day to watch it turn out of the farm drive for the last time.

    Man yeah what a great back story on the 50. Love the phrase about the price, what's a tractor really worth if ya want it😉 I love the wife fronts on those 2cyl deeres!! Had many of them (narrow fronts) over the years! Mostly B's, a couple of A's, and 3 -60's . Looking fwd to seeing this one out working soon!! Nothing wrong with the resto job, looks perfect I think!! Really appreciate the history, and story behind it!! Thank you Mr Will for bringing us along!! 😁👍

    Muffler?? I've never been around the early numbers, but played with a few letters, never saw a muffler on any of them. It was either a short elbow out the side, or a straight pipe stack out the hood..

    Love the sound of that 50 and the back story makes it better. I grew up with an A and B and spent many hours raking hay with a old Oliver bar rake on rubber. Sure could have used your wide front on those side hills!

    • @farawayfarm2520
      @farawayfarm2520  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Same here. I raked a lot of hay for my Dad and Grandpa on a 1950 narrow front B. My Grandparents sold the farm and moved to a smaller place after Grandpa retired and the B went with the farm. The new owners sold the B a few years later and we didn't know where it went. My cousin found it by accident about 5 years ago and bought it. My uncle and cousin have quite the collection of equipment. I might have to do an equipment tour video there this summer. Thanks for watching.

    Cool story. North West of Lafayette there was a 70 wide that stayed on the same farm for 4 farmers. 50 years I'm aware of.
    It my still be there because the widow of the last 2 farmers still lives there, and I haven't heard of a auction.
