Late 17th 18th & up to the very early 19th century it was fashionable to house a professional hermit at the bottom of your garden in a folly tower like a Wizard or in a grotto. In the 19th and 20th centuries posh people would keep pet Brahmin, aghori sadus or buddhist monks on their property. I recall a surgeon in Ireland who kept a Buddhist monk on his property. The monk was there purely to entertain guests in the garden.
Its in kingwell woods. Its a folly built by the former owners of Stainborough Castle, who owned the land.
My initial thought.
Love it. Thank you.
You are so welcome!
All of England was photographed during ww2 , just look up the old pictures and see what they show.
That a great idea

Oh wow
It's too bad whoever built this tower didn't carve the date and year. Thank you for the video.😊🇺🇸
Exactly
Dig a bit and you will find a complete castle buried beneath, which is the reason no one has disturbed it, too many questions will be asked.
Wow
Do you know something or is it a gut feeling?
could be a folly
I thought that too
It would be interesting to see what you could find if you took a metal detector in and around the tower.
