I live in Burlington but I was born and grew up in Vancouver. This part of the country wasn’t highly thought of in BC and when I moved here everyone would ask me “why?” It seemed even the locals here didn’t think highly of their home town. But I tell you it is all nonsense. This part of Ontario is amazing. It has beautiful landscapes. Great weather most of the year (winter does drag on a bit long). There’s tonnes to do. A lot of great outdoor activities. It’s all perfect for someone who wants to live an active lifestyle. One of my favorite things to do here is to ride my bike to Spencer Park along the lake front and take the bike path across the canal bridge into Hamilton and ride along the lake front to the other side is Hamilton. There are inlets that have historic wild life areas that are protected from development because the birds are so precious. It’s truly stunning. What they really need to do is take down those power line towers and bury them. Those towers are such an eyesore and give the lake front an unnecessary black eye. Other than that though it is ideallic. I truly love it here and have no regrets in moving here. In fact I believe it was one of the best decisions I made in my life.

Hamilton is legit. I only went there once, and it was to see a SOAD concert when I was 17; so high school. I don’t listen much to this band now, but after the concert we were some not wearing shirt, all sweaty from mosh pitting for the whole show, and it was dark. A lady offered to drive us to our motel, and she must have been 50s ish, just a woman with a van by herself. Not trying to take advantage, exploit, etc. which is so common today. This doesn’t happen many places, and maybe not even in Hamilton anymore. Actually shout out to Edmonton too, because I remember moving there in early 20s and spent basically an entire pay check on me and my friend-at-the-time to get wasted, drinking triples, actually I remember buying a triple for a hells angel we were playing pool with. We walked the biker home after the bar at around 2:30 where we went right inside his house dropping him off, meeting his wife (well actually she did come to the bar and we chatted while smoking outside, so we met there first I guess, but we came in and she helped him up the stairs and we left). Then walking home in cold Edmonton winter, not knowing the city, we literally rang the doorbell of a house where an older lady let us step in and use her phone to call a cab. I can’t even imagine that sort of stuff happening today. But regardless, props to places that have that sense of community and looking out for each other. Now I’ve become more street smart because of the need to after so much exploitation. People don’t value good communities they exploit them.

I do not know that all i know about is his lake front cottage on Lake Rosseau up north.

Is Hamilton bear prone? Or is it safe?
Hamilton is safe! No bears here! Only animals you may see are really deer, squirrels and raccoons.
Is it a good choice for new immigrants as their first home in Canada?
I would say so! My whole channel is about relocating to Hamilton and I have helped many clients relocate here from out of province or country buy a home here and they now love living here.
