    If you have a nickel allergy don't use Chrome, try Stainless steel instead.
    Good uses for the wrap are dancing in cold weather so you can wear warm clothes. It can also be helpful if you have tried everything, but sweat so much you can't grip.
    Note: if you have greasy skin, the wrap will not help much. The more grip you have on any finish, the more precise your entries, poses and exits need to be to avoid that pinching feeling. The wrap is also very hard on exposed skin!!!

    Chrome feels super unpredictable with my sweaty hands even after having warmed up the pole itself, and eight months into developing grip strength, trying to use minimal grip aids. I can "grip through the sweat" until I suddenly can't. You described that scary feeling perfectly! I'm considering getting a brass or titanium gold pole but I really wished there was a way to actually touch one. :/

    Thank you so much! I've poled on and off for many years and still stuck in the beginner/intermediate because of that... Slippy hands has been a major bane in my journey. I'm finally in a position to buy my own pole at home and was caught out with how many different finishes there are compared to when I started! Thanks for this video, you've sold me on brass!

    Not to self: Brass is very grippy metal, not greasy, sticky.
    Can slide easier than powder.
    Brass sometimes needs products to keep it in best condition tho
    Powder coated: good in between for gripping but also doing static spins.
    Chrome: greasy and weird,
    Titanium: slightly better for sliding and not burning.Though it has a grip-slip thing going on

    Interesting video, I have watched this several times!🤣 I bought a powder coated pole from x pole because of my clammy hands and it was works well. HOWEVER! The pole burns are very intense and I even get swelled bruised on my thighs from doing tricks like the leg hang, etc. Nice to know that there are a variety of options as I may invest in another one.

    Thank you so much for this video! The longer I train, the sweatier I get - As soon as I'm warmed up, I move past the tacky stage very quickly into just "too sweaty". I live in TX where it's mostly dry/hot. I'm still a newish poler (~5 mos) so I like the idea of settling into moves as you described and am considering either brass or TG - Can you please tell me which you'd recommend? Thank you! 💜💜

    Hi thank you so much for the video! I sweat like crazy all over my body, especially in the hands, feet and armpits. All the main touch points for my beloved pole, lucky me. Haha, however, I’m so upset now. In school I was learning on chrome, which was hell during summer. It just felt like a struggle to simply climb, and in Italy there is no culture of air conditioning, but when some days are cooler, I manage just fine during the summer, and I suffer from hyper sweating, but the winter is great. So I bought a brass xpole since I heard that it is great for sweaty people, but had to buy blind, since in Milan there are no schools that use it, so I couldn’t try it out. And I absolutely hate it, I wanna cry. I hope it’s just because of the summer, but I’ve spent around 10 hours practicing, trying to break it in and it is still slippery, bordering with dangerous, I have to apply so much product everywhere to get ONE good grip during my warm up, and it is always cold no matter how hot it is, I even tried a hai dryer on it. For the second grip I slip so much, even if my hands are not wet, grease appears out of nowhere, I have no grip whatsoever, so I need to clean the pole all over again, and re-apply magnesium and monkey hands product and clean my hands with soap beforehand, I also use brass cleaning liquid once a week. And round and round we go. I feel like I fell back to the level of my first month on pole, cause I slip all the time, and it is beyond frustrating. Got any tips?

    • @StudioVeena
      @StudioVeena  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sweaty is a tough thing in the heat for sure!! I'd buy a pole wrap! You could also try steam cleaning the pole, this will help remove any grip aid, swear or things that can make a pole slick. I have FREE info and vids on these thing on my website in the VEENAS TIPS section of the lessons.

    @Studio Veena I have sweaty hands &feet I haven’t tried using all the types of poles you have mentioned in this video I’ve only used a chrome & silicone pole w/silicone pole once I had my hands on the pole they didn’t move. But w/the chrome pole I’ll be wearing shorts & shirt after climbing the pole then going into a move my hands are already sweaty that I’ll have to wipe my hands on my shirt before grabbing the pole again cause I won’t be able to grip the pole properly due to my hands getting sweaty again. I want to be able to have freedom of movement w/my hands gripping the pole & still get a good grip on the pole. I don’t really know what pole to buy. I’ve also used dry hands & other products I can apply it & It works for me just climbing the pole then it stops working I would have to re-apply pretty much all the time.

    • @StudioVeena
      @StudioVeena  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Try carpe lotion or any other antiperspirant style grip aid to help stop sweat. Sweat is the hardest to deal with. Also try placing a fan near you to help keep you cool.

    • @MsCookiemonster2323
      @MsCookiemonster2323 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I had the same issue. The pole studios I visited used either chrome or stainless steel poles and I had to apply products to my hands every 2 minutes so that I could have at least some grip. It was really annoying because the instructors (bless them) kept telling me that it will stop sweating eventually or that I'll get a stronger grip (for reference:if you hand me a coin, I will return it to you all wet 30 seconds later - that's how sweaty my hands get). It was really discouraging, because none of the positions or spins felt safe and I literally flew off the pole a few times as well. That's why I then bought the brass xpole, but it didn't really help. The grip was slightly better, but I still had to reapply stuff to my hands all the time (+the burns were way worse). I sold it and finally gotten the silicone pole - although I still have to apply dry hands products sometimes, I can even manage without them on most days. I can do more moves without feeling like I'm in mortal danger all the time and I'm getting stronger faster (due to more repetitions). If you have this problem, just get the silicone pole, people with dry hands will never understand 😂 Also: you might not be able to do all the moves (such as chair on static or slides), but you can make some modifications or focus more on tricks, it's worth it!

    Hi, do you have a preference with brands? Would you recommend platinum poles for a long lasting steel home pole? I've been tempted to go for lupit steel pole... I've only ever used x-pole chrome poles. What's the spin and static mode like for the platinum stages pole brand compared to the x pole? Is the spin mechanism smooth, and is the static setting firmly set (the xpole has some give) In the UK most blogs recommend only lupit and x pole. But the more I research the more I like the idea of a steel pole over chrome, so I thought lupit would be my only option, apparently the spin is better and longer lasting compared to the x-pole and the static setting is better. But now I'm thinking to consider the platinum pole brand too. Have you tried the lupit chrome? Is the platinum poles brand as reputable as lupit and x pole? This video definitely helped me confirm that my next pole will be a steel pole. Just need to decide Lupit vs Platinum Stages Poles! Your advise would be greatly appreciated, your video has been the most helpful! Sorry for all the questions, many thanks xx

    • @StudioVeena
      @StudioVeena  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The only major brand I don't have is Lupit. I really liked my permanent mount Platinum stages pole, it was brass and we've moved and I no longer have the ceiling height for it. It was a 38 mm 14 ft! I personally don't like chrome, but I have dry, cool skin. I can't speak for the multi piece platinum stages pole as I've only ever use their single piece poles but they spin beautifully. Best spin IMO. Xpole US. owns Platinum stages now, so they should be able to answer any questions about the differences between the two.

    • @StudioVeena

      Think about it this way it’s not just about your hands. You can treat your hands with grip aid. It’s about your whole body and how the skin is on your body. Do your legs often feel dry or do they get sweaty? Do you have a hard time staying warm when you’re in the mountains where you are by the sea? Is it hot or cool? I have lived in all climates and for me I tend to have dry skin and a difficult time staying warm. I prefer brass.

    What metal is under Powder coat?Thank u!

    • @StudioVeena
      @StudioVeena  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Anytime you have good grip, you'll feel pinching (burning) it's not just on powder coated poles. The better your grip is the more precise your movements need to be. Less grippy poles allow for more "wiggle" room without feeling the pinch. I can't tell you what a good garage pole would be. You'll have to check if your joists can support a pole or if you need to get a stage pole. I have a video talking about the pro and cons of a stage on my website. Find it in the Veena's tips section, I'll try to share the link www.studioveena.com/tutorial/stage-pole-or-removable-pole-free-1727/. What's under a powder coated pole? I would guess it depend on the manufacturer, I don't know.

    I’m glad I found you! I can watch your classes. I’m having a hard time leveling my floors so I can’t have a pole right now but I was thinking of buying a X Lite stage .. do you think that’s a bad idea for a beginner? My floor isn’t leveled perfectly so I don’t trust a regular home pole. Or is there something I could buy that can temporarily level a floor(padding or a mat)

    • @StudioVeena
      @StudioVeena  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The stage isn't bad for beginners, but it is a lot of money and does limit you as far as moving smoothly from pole to floor work. If floor work isn't important then the stage would be fine. I would not plan on setting it up each time you want to dance, they can be a pain. If you can leave it up that would be best. As far as leveling the floor, I guess that would depend on what wrong with the floor. Do you mean it's slanted a bit? Or bumpy?

    • @CriscianaLovely
      @CriscianaLovely 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@StudioVeena it’s so frustrating because I want to start some of your classes soon but I have no funds to remodel the floors right now. So the house I live in was built years ago, the inside of the rooms are not leveled(0,-1,-2,-3) , the patio outside which is where I really want my pole has separate stones. The stones are not leveled. Some are higher and slanted because of the roots of a huge tree growing in the backyard. Someone told me the the stone needs to be completely leveled at 0 to make a pole safe. I can send photos because I can’t explain well but I thought a floor not being perfectly leveled was okay but supposably it’s not. I can afford to spend the money on an C Pole stage light and leave it stationary for months. I won’t need to move it constantly but the garage is where the floor is perfectly leveled. I don’t know if a stage pole is safe for grass or the unleveld stones on my patio

      @StudioVeena  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Really grippy poles can be painful until you've become more skillful in how you enter and exit moves. Being able to slide a bit on the pole is helpful for beginners who struggle with finding the right position for moves. The flip side is that then you might have a pole where the hands or overall grip makes you feel less secure. I'm always in favor of more grip, then work on correct placement.
