I’d love to have a animal themed children’s teaching gardening!! I’m raising my two grandchildren to appreciate gardening both vegetables and flowers as well as a love of animals and nature. When I worked I was a store manager for a major New York based bookstore company and I bought lots of beautifully illustrated children’s books for my daughter and my future grandchildren so I have lots of signed copies of treasured books. Your so talented and everything you create is so beautiful and well done so I can’t imagine what I could possibly suggest. I love ow the rooster just does what roosters do, totally oblivious toward your human mission of filming and sharing. It's so charming and really underscores the semi-natural world you've created - a living little kingdom. I hope you're able to spend your very last day on earth gardening. It's so life affirming.
The book is going to be in my library someday. I love the way you think about your garden. I let the violets grow in my grass and the daisies too until they are done.
In The Mary Francis Garden Book that I read as an older girl, Jane Fryer lists "The Garden People" at the beginning. They include not only her rooster, Feather Flop, but Little Lady Bird (bug), Mr. Cut Worm and the Wicked Rose Bugs! Such fun reading! But very, very helpful to me, a beginning gardener at the time, were the lists of plants for the different seasonal gardens as well as remarks on how to grow them, height, etc. The idea of this book, written in 1916, was to show the interrelationships of living things in the garden. It made a huge impression on me. You'd love it.
Jeri - your videos bring me pure joy and allow my senses to just drink in beauty without feeling like I have to achieve a certain standard in my own home and gardens. What you share of your home is lovely, homey, and welcoming without being pretentious. I don’t know you, but feel that your home and gardens must reflect your heart. That’s my goal in my home and gardens as well. I want to create a magical haven for myself, my family, and all who enter. Thank you for modeling “imperfect perfection.” 😍
I love your spirit of experimentation and freedom in your garden. I often feel so constrained by fear of failure or by what is already planted. But seeing you renovate tired gardens and experiment with different color schemes and plants is truly inspiring! The illustrations you have for your upcoming book are absolutely beautiful. I can't wait to see the new book when it is published!
Dearest Jeri , Queen Anne’s Lace would be welcome in any garden if they were hard to grow . I Love you Jeri you inspire me and share the wisdom that my heart most desires . Love and Blessings 💚💕🤗
Hooray, a new book in-the-making! Love the detailed and colorful drawings. A how-to book for kids and adults who love the out-of-doors. It will be wonderful!
I love your thoughts on gardens as far as everyone's garden is a personal space. I truly can relate to this since my back yard in particular is an Asian garden. I wanted it to be stress-free and basically no maintenance and it is exactly that. I have a small space and what I have I adore. All my plants are in large planters with large and sweeping plants. I have around them bark and Asian buddhas and statues. So, as you said, someone may not like what I have but it's a personal thing. Gardens are what you need at that particular time in one's life. Mine just happens to be no maintenance and easy on the eyes. Oh, and I must say I love how you name all of your animals. I think it's so enchanting. I have noticed as I get holder, which now I have reached 68, I have become more childlike and love to name animals and creatures of all sorts myself, lol.
@@ellen823ful , Hello. Hope it will be a happy B-Day. Gardening and art are what keep me going. I had a close call with death when I was 50 and it taught me well as to what was important to me. Family first and what other things you love after that.
Such lovely illustrations for your garden book!! About your request of suggestions for your book... I love how you end your videos with a homemade meal, and think it would be also wonderful to have in your book some simple recipes that can be made using some of the flowers and plants in your garden...maybe being cooked/prepared by the whimsical animals in your illustrations?

I always enjoy gardening books that contain anecdotes- humorous snippets or unexpected challenges and how they were overcome. Light but personal stories about your adventures as a gardener. With chickens and geese and dogs, I’m sure there are many stories ! I like your idea to include photos.
Jeri, I cannot wait for your new book! Ideas for a beginning gardener - necessary tools, foolproof bulbs, seeds, artistic touches, wildflowers for the pollinators, and whatever you deem necessary. I have learned so much from you! Thank you.
I love your Foxglove experiment and your gardens are so lovely. Agreed Queen Ann’s lace is a blessing. Your rooster is a blessing to hear. The wire to save your flowers from your dogs got an out loud laugh from me.
Jeri, I have to admit, when I watch other gardeners videos, with their lush grounds, beds, water in place, and the vast expanse of many of them, I do get green with envy, and I do start to compare mine against theirs. If there is one piece of advice I could give anyone, (and I DO agree with all that you said on this topic), it is, that everyone has to start somewhere, and even the people’s gardens that you envy, started only as an idea and a blank space, just as your own is now. In the majority of cases, it took years upon years, for those lush and magical gardens to come to fruition, and it took endless hours and resources/money, to make it happen, especially if you want your gardens to look and feel peaceful, and for you to feel like your walking into a homey, old and “lived-in” extension of your main dwelling. You are sooo very right, in the fact that everyone’s ideas of the perfect garden is vastly different, and whether it is one of us, compared to a professional, or someone that had the luck of acquiring a garden, through the purchase of a home, the same amount of care, blood, sweat, tears, time, and money, are poured into each and every garden, with no less intention, love, or lack of big dreams. None of these things lack, in any other garden, or gardener at any level, no matter what season or stage they are at, in their vast mind’s eye, and their garden’s journey. Again, you have to LEARN , to work with what you have, and be content, and thankful for what you have today, but NEVER stop dreaming, and learning about what you could have tomorrow. A negative attitude and forecast, of what you don’t have, or what you THINK, you WONT EVER have, is detrimental to why you originally started your gardening journey to begin with. Again, if we are to be conscious of the fact, that the people and circumstances that we are so envious of , had nothing but big hopes and dreams themselves when they started, this one thought should put us all back on track with our original hopes and dreams, to have OUR DREAM garden. In the end, all of the hard work, resources, time and love, we selflessly pour into it, will be so well worth it, and the pride we will feel, will be well deserved and indescribable, but it will also absolutely fill our hearts with joy and wonderment, of what we were able to accomplish, from only an idea of a dream garden. I tell you this every time Jeri, but once again, thank you for such lovely and informative videos, never change a thing!
I couldn't wait to grab my morning coffee and sit on my cozy porch watching you!!Oh my goodness, you are the best, so gifted and such inspiration!!I shall sit and smell the lilacs in the breeze, finish my coffee and get to my little veggie/flower patch!!! hugs
I just love your unique "not just gardening " channel. I imagine your book will be like a visit to your house and gardens.💕 ( which I would love to personally do😊) I enjoy drawing illustrations...mine are nowhere as wonderful as yours. I have thought often about a book with illustrations from a birds sky high perspective. As he flys above beautiful, colorful gardens and then stops in for a visit. 😊 I wish you continued success in all your talents and thanks for sharing them with us.
I love your art and your style; it's right up my alley. I also enjoy a little fantasy, and good, old-fashioned pretend in my day. To work into your beautiful and fanciful imagery real-life useful 'garden hacks' or hints that you want to share as 'insider information' that the characters in your stories can share as true garden 'locals', is genius. I love it. Avoiding allowing the 'locals' to eat my tulips (and probably giggling at me as they watched me plant them), would be a chapter I'd be very interested in! I enjoy all you do. Thank you, for all you do!
Jeri, you are a wealth of information and boy do I need it. Thanks. I feel like I'm in the most pleasant master gardener class but in the comfort of my home office and free of charge. You're the best!
I’m glad to see a fellow “wild garden” Gardner. I watch other gardening shows and think while I love their more uniform gardening, mine never will be that way. And I’m more than fine with that, coaxing the plants I want to thrive, discouraging the weeds , and finding beauty in the plants that decide to come up wily nilly like the wild strawberries and violets.
I could not be more excited to see your finished book, complete with tips, pictures, art work and some of the whimsical reality tales of your numerous Hopalong Hollow bird and animal friends. I love all their names and can't wait to read and see their antics. Am sure you will keep us posted of this wonderful project. Still shots or drawings of your many gardens would be wonderful to include too.
I can't wait to see this new book, it's so charming I love your impression of each animal & it's character. I love the older flowers that you add to your gardens, we don't want to loose those beautiful varieties. Thanks again Jeri for sharing your delightful gardens & guests😇
I was hoping you might include some of the beautiful blooming vegetables and some simple recipes in your book. One of my favorite is the squash blossoms. Your videos are so enjoyable and I look forward to each of them. The variety in each of your videos is most appealing to me as I love flowers, animals, art, history, and food. There is a gentleness and a flow of stunning artistic creativity portrayed in your videos that has the ability to capture a wide audience. I think your book will do the same!
"What would you like to see in a garden book?" "Or is there anything new in the world of garden books?" A garden book with full color photos, written how tos, and artistic illustrations from your garden and the Hopalong Hollow folk does not exist yet, and I would love to see one. I will in fact be happy to PRE order one or maybe several. You have addressed so many topics with your videos I'm sure you have plenty of images for several books, including the one of your dreams for young beginners, but plenty for us older amateurs too. As much as I enjoy going back and re-watching your videos (and hope they stay available forever) it would be great to have a picture book to hold and look through. (I hurt my back a few days ago, and I'm spending my down time re-watching your videos--again--which I'm waiting to get outside.)
At this point, I'm leaning more towards a Garden Journal that a gardener can actually write in and make garden plans on the charts provided. Naturally it would be full of my artwork, . My editing "expertise" has been limited to storybooks, so I want to stick with my former theme with few photographs.
Love your needle felting ,your drawings..I’ve got 2 of your large books..love your home..your gardens..your animals.your cooking..wish I lived closer..I’ve got a tiny yard but it’s packed and as your said ..no room for weeds when it’s packed..but got too much shade for lots of bloomers..alway look forward to your videos ..thanks for sharing

It is such a wonderful day when I can start my morning off with your video & a cup of coffee! I own all your story books & when I need calm & beauty, I sneak one from my grandbabe’s shelf, I keep at my house. The artwork for your new book is stunning, with my favorite (so far) being your cover/title page! Would you please consider maybe adding very simple recipes from the garden, ...Peppermint Tea, for kids to make, also simple garden diy’s, .. stepping stones, gazing ball??? Your garden, for me, is a glorious sight of all your “ornaments”, their placements, all in harmony with your garden. It would be lovely to make some lil things for our garden, when we don’t have some of the older decorations. Thank you again for such a lovely video visit.

Hi my dear friend thank you so much for another great garden video I always love seeing what you come up with on your channel you always put such high-quality videos up
Even your "empty" plot looks lovely, Jeri but I can hardly wait for those seedlings to grow and bloom! Your corner of the world is always so beautiful! I do love growing flowers and veggies and ground covers and weeds - LOL but I am also very interest in the garden items such as the bird feeder tray you have propped in that tree, and the little pots hanging on sticks as plant markers ... All too often garden books are about the plants, but I love to see the garden accoutrements like the ol' wheelbarrow, old used up tool handles on old buildings and even a well placed log! hahaha Maybe I'm a little touched in the head but I love that stuff! I had a plot of nicely sprouted sweet corn I was so proud of for 15 seconds. The squirrels dug up every single one and nipped them all off. Tell Bushky Bushybottom he can come get his Carolina cousins now!
I'm with you, I love the Garden "props" and old rusty objects...they look so good next to growing things. My Bushkys have been so well behaved in the garden, it's because it's easier for them to raid the chicken feeder full of grain.
@@JeriLandersofHopalongHollow I tried feeding them with several feeders spotted all about and hung corn cobs as well. I worked hard to keep those things filled. But those hoodlums still snipped off every rhododendron bloom, turned over the sprouting zinnia tray and chew off the bulbs from the mini lights on the rose arbor!
@@camirichardson7485 That is so frustrating! I wonder what you can do aside from evicting them permanently..... We have a lot of walnut trees, which normally keep them happy but now they spend all their time at our Bird Station eating all the goose, duck and chicken chow; but it does keep them away from my plants

Hooray, a new book in-the-making! Love the detailed and colorful drawings. A how-to book for kids and adults who love the out-of-doors. It will be wonderful!
The hollyhock is amazing and also the foxgloves. Another lovey video. Thank you.
That sounds very lovely to me...
Gardens should always be what we need and not something to impress others.
Hello to a fellow child! I’ll be 65 in August
@@ellen823ful , Hello. Hope it will be a happy B-Day. Gardening and art are what keep me going. I had a close call with death when I was 50 and it taught me well as to what was important to me. Family first and what other things you love after that.
@@ellen823ful Hello to you too.
Wow..what great ideas for Jeri's book! Your suggestions are perfect! My anticipation for such a book knows no bounds.
Excellent ideas!
Oh jeri,I'm lost for words your pictures of yours maidens and gardeners just true delight,I'm lost for words, would dearly love ,childrens books are my favourite, haveing had 5 of my own now 7 grandchildren, but I adour the childrens old fashion nd books,I'm not able to read beyond those, dear me,.looks truly wonderful 😊
Thank you.
Great suggestions!
THE BEST TH-cam CHANNEL EVER! Thanks so much Jeri.
Well I can't add any more to what you have said here, well done!
I couldn't wait to grab my morning coffee and sit on my cozy porch watching you!!Oh my goodness, you are the best, so gifted and such inspiration!!I shall sit and smell the lilacs in the breeze, finish my coffee and get to my little veggie/flower patch!!! hugs
Yay! Thank you!
I just love your unique "not just gardening " channel. I imagine your book will be like a visit to your house and gardens.💕 ( which I would love to personally do😊)
I enjoy drawing illustrations...mine are nowhere as wonderful as yours. I have thought often about a book with illustrations from a birds sky high perspective. As he flys above beautiful, colorful gardens and then stops in for a visit. 😊
I wish you continued success in all your talents and thanks for sharing them with us.
You should do that book, it's a good idea!
I like that idea for a children's book. Perhaps you should pursue it.
That is a chapter that must be written by the Squirrel experts....
Absolutely beautiful 💗
Jeri, you are a wealth of information and boy do I need it. Thanks. I feel like I'm in the most pleasant master gardener class but in the comfort of my home office and free of charge. You're the best!
I’m glad to see a fellow “wild garden” Gardner. I watch other gardening shows and think while I love their more uniform gardening, mine never will be that way. And I’m more than fine with that, coaxing the plants I want to thrive, discouraging the weeds , and finding beauty in the plants that decide to come up wily nilly like the wild strawberries and violets.
Agreed, my gardens always tend to be on the wild side, free, easy and living the country life.
Thank you for sharing your future garden garden book with us. Can't think of a thing to be added. The illustrations carry the tune.
You are a wonderful artist. I love everything you do.
I think a garden book needs to include all the life in the garden...plant life...wild life...and human life the garden supports.
I can't wait to see them bloom! I love that bench with the squirrel carvings......so adorable
Always so wonderful to watch your channel ❤💕♥☺💖😍!
As always, I do enjoy EVERYTHING you share, Thank you.💚💜🐇🌻🍁🌿
I can't wait to see this new book, it's so charming I love your impression of each animal & it's character. I love the older flowers that you add to your gardens, we don't want to loose those beautiful varieties. Thanks again Jeri for sharing your delightful gardens & guests😇
Dear Jeri, this is one of my favorite videos to watch again and again. Love it all. 💕
As an Artist myself and rather good, i can tell you BRAVO for your Unique work, your work is amazing, stunning ………… formidable !!!! 👍👍👍👍👍💖🙏
I appreciate that!
Oh my, those bird drawings are just too adorable for words! Oh the talent you have, our dear Jeri. :)
It's good to see those gardens coming along so beautifully. That garden book will be delightful.
Thank you very much, that's encouraging!
I loved your small plastic container idea for starting seeds early, that would be a good tip for the book.
Definitely!
I love your relaxed attitude. I’m hoping it will rub off on me. Your videos are a treat.
I’ve just enjoyed seeing your illustrations. I love seeing the birds with blossom hats , etc. I enjoy all the details, like, the insects.
Wonderful!!! I have to move from cell phone to a big screen tv to enjoy this video!! Thank you so much! ❤️ love it!!
@@JeriLandersofHopalongHollow Oh, that would be awesome too! I'd still be happy to pre-order or pre-purchase one!
We'll do a shade garden in the next video, glad your garden is packed to the edge!
You have such a beautiful life. Every time I watch your videos I want desperately to give up the rat race.
I'm very grateful for this peaceful life, I hope you can escape the rat race.
Your artwork is just incredible! We can’t wait for the book to be published. Thank you, for sharing your gardens with us. My mom and I love to watch your videos. God bless you.
Thank you so much!
You draw and color amazingly. You are a truly gifted person.
I love hearing the sound of the rooster in the background. It’s early morning in my place and it really brightens my day already. Thank you for sharing your garden! You have a gorgeous peacock! I also collect garden books, so I’ll wait for your book.
Your gardens and artwork are absolutely beautiful and the sounds of all the birds remind me of my childhood back in Scotland. I can’t wait for your beautiful book and love that it won’t just be for children and would also be great to have a few of your recipes scattered throughout just like your videos. Thank you for transporting me back to my childhood memories and bringing a little gardening meditation into our lives! 💗👩🌾🌱🌸🥕🎨🐇🐓
Wonderful to hear this, and thank you!
Simply wonderful!! I love your mew book you are working on...will be adding that to my collection for sure! I also love your beautiful aged brick and concrete patio. You can’t buy that kind of patina and beauty! Your videos are always so much fun to watch. They are soothing, beautiful, and full of wonderful information and inspiration! I look forward to each and every one. It’s like a lovely visit with you and your sweet animals ❤️
It takes a particular person to appreciate that courtyard, you think like me!
So glad we didn't have to wait a long time to be with you again. You will never realize how much your videos mean to so many of us. Not to be whiny but covid etc has been such a scare and heart ache for all of us Your youtubes can be special to us.
I'll try to upload around every 10 days or so... it's such a hectic time but I have lots to share this summer.
Your illustrations are beautiful! I love your idea of having the animals as Gardner's. I would love to have the book in my collection and one for my young grandchildren. They love gardening and animals!
Violets ! I love them just as long as they don't get in the pots x Crystal Green North of Scotland
Garden's are like people no two are alike.☺ why would you or your garden want to be just like everybody else's . 💖
I will definitely add some garden recipes and diy.
Jeri, do you realize that you are the epitome of Cottagecore, a current, popular design aesthetic ?
I've always done things this way..... for a very long time; didn't know what cottage core was so I looked it up and added it as a hashtag
Your art is amazing and inspiring. I love the clothing on them all🥰🥰🥰thank you for another wonderful video. ❤️❤️❤️
Oh I can't wait for that book to be out! I DEFINITELY will buy it! The illustrations are out of this world!
Yes! Publish your book! Make it big! I’ll preorder at least a couple when it’s available! 😁❤️
What a lovely video. Wishing you all the best with your new book. 🙏🏻👏🏻💖
Thank you Jerry very inspiring and encouraging to have our own Gardens our personal choices and enjoy them
You can’t have too many flowers!! ❤️🌸🌺💐🌸🌻🌹💜. I just found your channel. I love it!! Everything you have said and done is what’s in my heart. 🥰

I love Queen Anne's Lace too. It's so pretty.....when I was a kid I used them as umbrellas for my dolls. LOL
Perfect Victorian Umbrelllas!
Beautiful Roses Trémiéres…………👍j’adore………💖🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷
yeeees the violets have taken over this year but I've left them be. I had to pay somebody to remove the wild strawberries an ajuga, wow, they took over my front bed and I really want negative space that I have now. lol
Jeri your illustrations for the garden book are so dreamy and magnificent. Their sweet faces makes me want to have all of those little animals and feather friends around me. cheers
🌱🌺You are Our Inspiration Jeri 🌺🌱
Hello from Southern California
I too am looking forward to your new book. It will grace my prized well read favorite books!
You have brought to me inspiration to continue to be persistently diligent in doing good in my garden.
I agree whole heartedly with one of your follower, You are blessed by The Hand of Our Lord.
Thank you for your desire to share with the world your beautiful, gorgeous talent and love for life!
Thank you very much, I am grateful to be able to inspire other people in any way possible.
I love watching your process on planting that flower bed Jeri. The soup and muffins looked so good. The artwork for your book are so amazing and anyone would love the book when it is finished❤️❤️❤️
Thank you so much, it will take awhile to finish that book.
Anything that is good is worth waiting on such as your book❤️❤️❤️
Jeri you have such amazing talent just the beautiful art work stands alone very few words need to be spoken the pictures speak volumes I know my little grandsons could makeup their own story just by looking at your art have a blessed evening
Thank you so much 😀
You amaze me! I know this book will be wonderful. You have so many talents.

@@camirichardson7485 Oh my! They are a pest.
Love your garden. You inspire me to try to plant flowers. I know your gardens will be beautiful!! You are such a creative person. So wonderful!! Thank you for sharing your talented ideas. Your videos are great!!😁😁😁🙏🙏
Looks like you have some beautiful plants growing and it look like those chickens were having a great time in your garden thank you so much for sharing so much beautiful nature with us
Jeri, you never disappoint . Beautiful.
I have always loved gardening and looking at beautiful gardens and so very thankful for the garden the lord gave me . I see God’s handiwork in everything I grow and feel so blessed just to have the privilege to behold it 🙏🏻 the good lord has blessed you with many talents and you have done him proud ♥️.
I would love to buy a copy of this new gardening book when it is available. God bless you Jeri and thanks so much for sharing your many talents with us ♥️
I agree with you, Gods creation is abundantly clear in the garden, from the tiniest of creatures to the colors and forms of blooms, leaves and stems. I am constantly amazed.
Those drawings are amazing!!!!!
I will buy your book. Your illustrations are beautiful! Please add an illustration of the gardening animals having tea. I watch all your videos. Just love them and I have learned so much. Best you tube channel ever.
Wow, Jeri, what an eye for detail. Your art work is stunning. Love you table scapes and yummy looking food. Your gardens are so charming. Each video you make is such a treat with wonderful eye candy. Yes, God has blessed you with many talents. Thank you for sharing them. Blessings.
I appreciate that!
The illustrations are gorgeous and I’m sure the story will be wonderful. In addition to gardening information, perhaps include recipes to make from the garden or even some craft projects from the garden or for the garden.
I own the Mary Frances Garden Book. It has cool fold-outs of garden design and each page is bordered with decoration. I believe I have never paid as much for a book, new or old, as I did for that book!
I found one at Thrift Books for $11!
Ms. Jeri, hello again from Georgia. Another inspiring video, thank you. You are living my dream. The gazpacho looks scrumptious, I can't wait to make it. Thank you for sharing your little bit of heaven - your gardens, all the animals, your crafts and your life. Stay safe and well.
I ate the Gazpacho for 3 days, it WAS good!
Thank you Jeri….I have been stressed and overwhelmed with my gardening attempts and just life in general right now. You made the comment about not having your perfect garden all at once…. that you started with a small garden right off your porch steps. That made me stop….hey, I can do that! I look at my grassy unkempt yard with new eyes now. Thank you for your candid relaxing videos❤️
That's right, My tiny herb garden brought me so much joy! Sometimes having huge gardens can be a burden and a hassle, it's best to start small, really get to know your space and plan plan plan!
@@JeriLandersofHopalongHollow I’m starting with a more substantial compost area…then in the spring I’m planning on adding a few chickens.
