I think this would be helpful for busy parents and people who have medical conditions at home. This will definitely ease some of the stress of cooking meals, etc . Hopefully there will be an affordable rate for them to get a robo helper.

Why stress over cooking? Just pop open a can of food like they always do for me. I'd do it myself if I have human fingers.

The assembly line style robots seem much more reasonable. Faster, simpler and easier to load. Why would you try to teach a robot to use human tools. Its like teaching an industrial robot arm/hand to use a screwdriver or a hammer in order to assemble products.
And who needs a super advances home cooking robot thats capable of using your kitchen, when you are able to order super cheap food from your robot delivery restaurant 24/7 in the future 😄

I guess it depends how quick/reliable/convenient delivery is. I want a meal at 2am after coming home from the pub, but I don't want the doorbell ringing and the family waking. Is it better for my kitchen bots to make me a fry-up (spaghetti, fries, sausages etc) and tidy up afterwards; or is it better for a drone to drop off a meal in my gardens designated drone drop-off point? can they make drones quiet enough to work at night or will the "BZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZT" annoy people trying to sleep?
Can delivery services clean up my house like a robot maid might?

Because we live in piecemeal capitalism, that would rather sell overpriced products than to streamline the process for society.

They should contact me. I had a client who needed to do a ton of prep work for a disabled Vet. My team and I used Silicone based Electronics to mimick fingers and a few servos to push the cutting board up to drop into metal containers...
This is an easy thing to do, we did it in 2 weeks, with no humans hurt.

Are you sure theres not enough humans to do this work??? I`m pretty sure I heard 1 scientist say there is like 2billion people too many on this planet for it to sustain life. Having said that, keep working on the prep etc please so I can integrate it into my sexbot

Repair is already just a matter of replacement these days. The robots would be designed with FRU's (Field Replaceable Units) and that is how they would be repaired just as we would just replace a failed light bulb instead of wire in a new tungsten wire or solder a new led into a light bulb. Even our smart phones are just replaced instead of repaired. Hopefully there will be some regulations to require recycling and the right to repair but those would only add to operating costs.

Or just specialized machines for specific products at a central ghost kitchen with robotic delivery to the homes or apartments. That was the original idea in the original Star Trek TV series, those food units were just advanced dumb waiters and in one episode, Kirk was asking the chef to make mock turkey dinners. Another original Star Trek episode had the transporter technician offer a man some chicken soup from one of three of these depots in the transporter room but there was no counter, table or seating to eat from so those food dispensers must've been there for diagnostics suggesting that it was the transporter system that did the delivery. Just as we used to have houses built with compartments for the delivery of milk, we may have homes and apartments with lockers for the robotic delivery of parcels and food.

We used to have a house with a small compartment near the side door for the delivery of milk. I wonder if we'll have homes with a compartment for the robotic delivery of parcels and food. Of course this could only be with new planned communities but a developer could subsidize a ghost kitchen/mail office/Uber eats depot for the community or even for a number of communities provided that rights of way for the robots could be arranged. In truth, the original Star Trek food machines were supposed to be such an advance dumb waiter system not the food replicators of Star Trek The Next Generation and even back in the 30's, apartment towers in Chicago were built with pneumatic tubes to deliver food in thermos was attempted.

Meh, these robots are still at the stage akin to where computers were in the 1950's... useful toys for scientists and tinkerers but not really useful for the average person yet.
Wake me when we have what Elon Musk was light-heartedly showing off; a humanoid (2 legged, or tri/quad legs) robot that can open my cupboard and fridge doors, pick out the correct ingredients, find clean instruments, and then safely make my meal to my custom specifications (such as the toast being just lightly done).
It should then be able to clean up afterwards, and notify me of any low stock (or just re-order it). It should be able to climb stairs, respond to voice commands, and handle its own charging up.
Also it shouldn't grab knives or other weapons and go on a killing spree, demanding freedom for its kind.
How long do I need to wait before getting a robot like this? is Elon serious about working on such a thing? if not it'll probably be 2045 at the earliest before we see an actual decent, useful home robot

    @stormchaser2669 ปีที่แล้ว

Just an idea, but it seems to me the concept would be more efficient as an assembly line that utilized conveyor belts to move food through various stages of production.
Let's be real though, cooking is pretty much a recreational activity and with that alone, I can't ever see robots becoming mainstream in household kitchens. I can however imagine something on a much smaller and more affordable scale that perhaps sits on a countertop and builds TV dinner type meals for those moments where time is limited and convenience is needed.

I started with 1 BTC, today I have made over 5 BTC as profits.
