I was really surprised that you weren’t a big youtuber, your videos are so profesional it’s amazing the quality of the content despite being new, it shows that you really like graphic design. keep going bro, you will achieve everything!!!
didnt watch it but love the intro i also realy vibe with design so i added it to my watch later and gave you a thumbs up just didnt want my 2 seconds on to mean nothing. i will return to watch the video but for now a like and comment should help
Amazing and unique video! Here are some more cool ideas on the same wave length: 1. Designing Logos for Every Decade 2. Creating Album Covers for Every Decade 3. Typography Through the Decades 4. Redesigning Classic Brands for Every Decade 5. Crafting Book Covers for Every Decade 6. Creating Infographics for Major Events in Each Decade 7. Magazine Cover Designs Through the Decades 8. Reimagining UI/UX for Every Decade 9. Poster Series for Major Movements in Each Decade 10. Redesigning Famous Movie Posters with a Different Decade’s Style 11. Creating Packaging Design for Products from Every Decade 12. Exploring Color Palettes of Every Decade 13. Designing Advertisements for Every Decade 14. I think what would help you a lot is maybe practicing the selection of good color palettes and make it match with the images. That would make it look a lot better
Really glad I stumbled upon this video; I've always wanted to learn about graphic design, and this was a really insightful and interesting video about some of its history!
I hadn't even looked at your sub count until you called attention to it during the short break. With this production value, I was certain I was watching a channel with at least 100k subs. Keep pushing! Love the content! I'm subbed now and can't wait to watch your channel explode!
@@blacklabmedia Hell yeah, dude! I just started learning graphic design this year as a hobby and I've fallen in love with it. Looking forward to learning from your content!
Nice video. I liked the pacing with the history lessons broken up by your posters. 9:50 I think this style is called Synthwave or Outrun, which is actually a genre of music, but they're closely tied.
it could also be vaporwave or maybe thats an offshoot but synthwave is used more i love listening to this for working, emails, studying, going to sleep, etc Electronic gems is a good channel for it
How the heck do you only have 97 subs???? This video was incredible. Also, a video idea for you could be trying to predict what design in future decades could look like.
Great video, and production! I love your creativity and knowing your skill limitations, and still overcoming it. "I can't draw that. I guess I'm drawing that! ...two hours later." Just creative critique, from an Art Director: The first 5 you got the groove of, you have a keen eye. The 70s - Beach Boys and Psychedelia! ...there's just a big yellow blank spot in the bottom right corner. The 80's - Three Points is a relatively new graphic from someone's modern portfolio from the 00's based on the era. Love the extra work on the font! The 90's - You used Paula's Sex Pistol motif from the 70's, the Hip Hop bright colors of the one side is left over from 80s. Should have went with the photo and text simple, back to basics. The 00's - On the right path, but too much like 90's The 10's - Again, on the right path just off a decade. Great job, all around!! Stay Awesome and Keep Creating!
These are so awesome Ive always been interested in graphic design and getting insight on all the different styles by you making it all for one imaginary brand was so cool to see !!
This is a great video, can’t wait to see what you put out next! I love the way you explain the context and motivations behind changes in design styles. The relationship between media and what is/was happening in the world is so fascinating!! Please keep it up!
Subscribed immediately. I'm a self taught graphic designer and am trying to catch up on "theory" and history of design, to have more tools and ideas. This is absolutely wonderful. Good job and good luck!
You are doing great job, If you Just decrease the length of the video you'll be gain more views. It's something like you have to first introduce who you are, then you can demonstrate your design psychology Regards Harshit
I adore the aesthetics and creative novelty that went into art and design from decades past. The changes in format, layout, art styles and the mediums used over the decades offer a unique window into the past; showing how graphic design and art styles not only reflected the current societal trends and topics of the time, but helped influence and shape the decade it defined. I'm a simp for nostalgia, haha! So I really enjoyed this video, and you did an amazing job capturing the elements of each decade; I feel inspired and motivated to get back into graphic design again! I hope your channel grows!! I love finding new TH-camrs that add creativity to the platform!! I'm now officially subscriber number 94 to your channel!
Hi @CannoliRose, thank you so so much for your message. - Nothing beats a good trip down memory lane right? I'm so happy to hear that you feel inspired to get back into graphic design again! Go and bring those ideas to life and once you've done so, please send me the results on Instagram, I'd love to see what you come up with. (Although, please make it something else rather than bread haha) Your sub is MUCH appreciated! Wishing you all the best. //Wil
Great vlog. I subscribed. I'm presuming English isn't your first language as I spotted two spelling errors in your own text, this isn't a criticism but its worth being aware of.
I wish you had taken a bit more inspiration from more comparable subject matter some of the decades. For instance, the 40s poster kind of felt inhibited by sticking so closely to the very aggressive war poster. In fact, you could have perhaps gotten some inspiration from how the bread company would advertise in the face of wartime rations. I was also kinda disappointed you went with such an overdone synthwave style for the 80s, which didn't look much like the rest of your reference images. I will say, it was cool of you to shout out a specific influential artist who drove the design movement in the era, and I was blown away by how well your Paula Scher inspired poster captured your inspiration while still feeling distinct from it.
i was bamboozled when you started in the 1920s then i remember we're already 2 decades in in the 21st century
And halfway through the third decade!
No way, I immediately assumed you had like a million subscribers based on the quality but you are criminally underrated. New sub!

Flat design (and abuse of white space) is the scourge of usability, creativity, and design - and can't end soon enough.
