I bought the SQ1 and I love it, it’s beautiful and simple just point & shoot, it was my first instant camera, personally I don’t need functionality in these types of camera my only purpose is to make memories.

I plan to to have my first one hopefully before June because i am going to visit my friends before leaving for school and i want to make memories last. And i am actually debating between mini 11 and this. Any suggestions?
The cameras are gorgeous. That’s literally it. When I heard they were releasing new cams. I thought Oh baby, improved SQ6’s! Nope. Aesthetically beautiful, functionally bland.
Yeah... I’ll stick to my sq6
It's about understanding its limitations. The SQ1 is sharper and has better contrast than the SQ6.

I bought the sq6 around July of this year and I'm having a blast with it! I wish the sq1 is a bit cheaper because of its basic functions.

Like this video and you are not alone with the conclusion. Would say it’s not worth the money. I do like the minimalistic design but the SQ6 has almost all features needed and is also cheaper in my country. I noticed that the SQ6 became less available in different shops so I rushed to order one and received my SQ6 yesterday and I like it so far. Compared to the mini 90 neo classic it laks the bulb mode and a separate button for lighten/darken for use in every mode but I can live with that. I also have the Lomo’Instant Square, it’s a little difficult in use but has so many options.

Jeeze the only thing I like about this camera is how it looks, apart from that it seems quite usless.. few months ago I was debating between sq6 and lomo square and got the lomography square because it's so sharp because of the glass lens and sq6 doesn't let you choose 2 modes at a time which is annoyingggg, however the lomo square struggles in low light and photos turn out almost black😂 to say the least, i am back to using my wide 300 and mini 90 cos they are the best in my experience 🥰🥰

Fuji could have just repackage sq6 with sq1's exterior and that would have been great enough. Sq1 is like mini11 that shoot a square format. Therefore, the design and color are very nice.
I was thinking of getting sq1 before I found sq6 Taylor Swift's edition with 57% off discount. I agree with you that sq6 is a better camera.
I am about to buy my first instant camera and i am well researching before i buy. I did have a digital camera which i have used for 10 years and it died this year. My digital camera have lots of functions but i never use them other than flash (which is use rarely). What attracts me about instant cameras are the the feeling to capture and have that picture in the matter of minutes and also how every picture is precious and memorable. The pictures i taken are mostly friends and family. Which never really required any other features. And for other kind of pictures i just use my phone like scenery and group photos.( i like to draw them soo not printing them is fine). I guess you are right fro this camera the price is a bit higher than expected. But for people that like square photos and don’t know or don’t want to use a lot of features. Go for it and take care of it. Ps. What you said definitely help me make a decision.
Ohh and i hope Fujifilm will make the same camera as this with more functions, i might buy that after learning more about the function and how to use it and maybe buying it as a gift for myself after something big happened.

You are getting too hung up on features. The SQ1 has a better lens and takes more sharp and in focus photos than the SQ6
If the camera doesn’t have macro mode, you can also use selfie mode! It’s technically a close up lense :) Yw!
The collector in me says buy it buy it but my mind says no you already have the sq 20. Thanks for your review i managed to calm down the collector side of me 😊

i really hated the flash on mini 11 also so i manually stuck a paper painted black with marker on the flash. it works very well outdoor on selfie mode :) my face is finally not over exposuring like a ghost. havnt tried selfie indoor so no comment on that.
I’ve been choosing between sq6 and sq20 for about 6 months 🙄 which one would you suggest? I really like sq20 but there’s no magic when you choose what to print. I also like Wide 300 but it’s way too huge to carry it all the time

Hi, I'm new to instant camera and would like to ask how fast do you usually finish a pack of film? Because of the current situation, I'm saving up the films for special occasions and is it alright to leave the film in the camera for quite some time? I do find people said that it is best to finish a pack of film within 2 weeks for best results but I don't think I can finish it in 2 weeks time haha.
no it doesnt matter as long as you dont two these two things. first, dont open yr pack of films until u hv used ur 10 shots. 2nd, make sure u dont buy expired films and make sure to use yr remaining films before the expired date. there is no such thing as you need to finish it between 1-2 weeks. ive instax mini evo and i always keep my films for 3 weeks until it finish but the pic are still the same. hope this helps.

watching your video so late, but i went to check out SQ6 and it’s now $160 on amazon… Double the price. They know the SQ6 was definitely great. I did purchase an SQ1 and waiting for it to arrive… and hopefully i don’t regret it! 😫
I own Mini 8, Mini 9, Wide 210, Wide 300, Square 6, Mini Liplay, and Mini 90 Neo Classic.
Although I love them all for different reasons, I would have to say that the Mini 90 Neo Classic has to be my all around favorite. Especially for the multiple shooting modes such as double exposure, bulb, macro, etc...

When i first saw this i literally thought the same thing : "pretty much the same thing of instax mini 11" like you twist it to turn on the same exact way! It doesn't have any modes just like the mini 11! Its just pretty much the same camera use but different same and name.
It just seems like the mini 11 but just the film is square

For me, sq6 wins in the aesthetics as well. I like the color options of sq1, but the design is not my favorite among the instax cameras. Unfortunally, Fujifilm is not selling sq6 in my country anymore ):

I think using SQ6 is better and more function . A lot function can do . Especially there have tripod and timer. But SQ1 nothing special for me . Just like Instax mini 11 . I think people getting into instant photography still shouldn't get this camera. It's too pricy and they prob should settle with one of the minis (9 or 11)

This is a glorified Instax Mini 11 tbh. I LOVE my Mini 11 because I know its just point and shoot, and its cheap. But this? For that price? yeah, no.
