Lefty was one of basketballs best coaches when he was at Maryland, he had so many great teams and players over those years, thanks to Lefty for all the great memories, he will be greatly missed.
Back when head coaches were THE program -- and was respected statewide.
Say it again my brother 👊🏽
many forget he had Davidson in the top five nationally in the 60s
I lived in Maryland from 1971 -1997. Maryland basketball was huge for the state. And Lefty was such a character.
When Len Bias died that put a black mark on the basketball program for 10 years. It was a shock to most people in the area also. 😢☹️☹️☹️
How could one of the best college basketball prospects be gone, when he was going to play for the Celtics ?. We all thought people were playing when the news first came out. 🙃🙃🙃🙃
I was working over Kenilworth rec for my summer youth job, it was a set of twins, that came to the rec just about everyday. They were just like most young black males in the hood very playful, so when one of them told us bias died, we thought he was playing, so we went to look at the tv in the office and we seen it “Len Bias Died”, still to this day it’s shocking.
Sorry for the long reply my brother.
@@Bighjr88 Never apologize for writing about that man.
His death had the entire area Shocked.
Remember he was so good his stats at Maryland were all the same as Jordan's and Bias was a year younger.
Most people thought Bias was going to have the Celtics back in the finals.
He can now hug Lenny Bias again.
