Donovan Melero is my idol. How he sings those beautiful, but sometimes harsh in-your-face vocals, while playing such upbeat, sometimes rather intricate rhythms, on the drums at the same time is unbelievable. That would be a show all on its own. I really want to see these guys live.
Been a while since I came back to this band. God damn if I didn’t tear up a few times in this song. I remember not getting it all that much as a teen but now… let them pray I guess 🙃
"and as i hung there i noticed how you, how you all just stood there - like stone you stood there.. and as i hung there i noticed how you, how you all just stood there... the fear kept you there. and i watched you" this song is so fucking epic thank u hail the sun the meaning behind this song and the lyrics really speak to me.. :')
yea talks about the system in general too, "evil is the grease that runs the system let em burn to assist them in control" dude i'm seeing these guys live tonight :O Sean Mahar
I remember watching this video when I was in high school many times on fridays at night. Now being an adult and stumbling on this video once again made me relive those memories. Those were the days...
Sad to see fans weren’t enjoying this track before wake dropped, I gotta say this track is a grower, it’s insanely good. I almost cannot believe the amount of hate it got back in the day. Hopefully the fans got a little smarter and realized how good this is
Oh how I love this band. Their Elephantitis EP is abolutely phenomenal. This full-length will undoubtedly reach the bar its predecessor has already set.
Wow, these guys are awesome. Why has it taken me so long to find them? They sound like they should be way more popular then the amount of views on this video.
YES YES YES! I already knew you guys were gonna make it big when I stumbled upon your Kickstarter in December 2011. Keep up the good work guys! And of course.. please release this on vinyl.
Early version of Hanging Revelations. Mix is way different from the album version. Also I think some guitar, drum, and vocal work was re recorded or re worked for the album version. Especially the screams, listen to "terror is the grease that runs the system"!
The final version gave me chills the first time i heard great work on finalizing the mix and the vocals by far were worked on greatly with heavy detail, whispering "we submit" this time around was great and dramatic change that i really appreciated. Thank you HTS,Thank You Josh Benton, and Thank You Will Swan!
Dude, you have no idea, I've been waiting for this album for the last 2 years. Elephantitis absolutely kicked the shit out of me and I could not be more stoked to hear the rest of this.
+Guitarrfcker I have asked this myself... I live in Austria and in the Articles in the background there is mention of the "FPÖ", which is a very popular right wing political party here. It's hard to decipher any real meaning from the small abstract seen in the video, but I presume it was either selected at random or it has something to do with the nature of said right wing part(ies)y (?) (Also it seems to be written a sortof parody/criticism). As said, I can't really wrap my head around it unfortunately
I really started to admire this song on the third and fourth listen as well as the lyrical content. But they did seem more serious as opposed to the witty and more relaxed ones I fell in love with on Elephantitis. Either way i am really looking forward to whats coming this Fall!
Aside from The Slash Slinging Slasher, the song is keeping safe. Like if it's not broken, don't fix it. Until the album comes out, I'm not sure if they dipped into fresh sounds. Safe song, holding my interest on a rope.
First song I've heard from them...came b/c I was checking out Sianvar and I knew all the bands except this one. Sounds like a cross between Circa and A Lot Like Birds...in other words it sounds fucking amazing.
how do so many people not like this song? its pretty great. Especially that Phrygian cadence at 0:16. It gets me every time. But anyway.... this song isn't there best by their standards its average, but by an average song by Hail the Sun is like pretty amazing in other standards.
why does this lyric video sound so much different from the original version on the full length album, it sounds like it was recorded at a different tempo or something
The crumpled pages that make up the bound girl is from Shogun. As far as I can venture, the lyrics depict either the Salem Witch Hunt, or maybe the Inquisition. *shrug* Perhaps they are making a correlation between these events and current goings on?
WOAHFOX The line "Manipulation" is really hidden under "Let them burn!". I saw it in the lyrics, but I had the hardest time hearing it in the CD release of the song.
+tutu07777 This was a demo version of the song I think. They had it animated before the album's release. They re-recorded the song when they were doing the recording for the wake album.
Katt Stewart i disagree, this album totally sounds like a demo, some vocal parts and harmonies sound off. it sounds like maybe 75 percent completed at this point
I personally think the production on this one just sounds way more open and clear. Maybe I just got used to the original, but the new one sounded muffled and compressed when i first heard it.
Donovan Melero is my idol. How he sings those beautiful, but sometimes harsh in-your-face vocals, while playing such upbeat, sometimes rather intricate rhythms, on the drums at the same time is unbelievable. That would be a show all on its own. I really want to see these guys live.
He is insane live! Really puts 100% in. His energy is crazy every time I’ve seen him
I love Donovan's lyrics because they aren't hard to decipher. 9/10 you'll know what the songs about
This has got to be my favorite song from the album. The last end of the song is haunting.
i can't believe people are complaining. This is clearly THE best work HTS has put out.
Great band. Dumb fans apparently
I agree
How do you like their recent stuff?
Been a while since I came back to this band. God damn if I didn’t tear up a few times in this song. I remember not getting it all that much as a teen but now… let them pray I guess 🙃
This band is so good.. This song really reminds me of Tides of Man..
One of my dream's is to attend a concert with Hail the sun, Stolas, DGD and A lot like birds!
I'm so glad everyone knows who CHON is now. They'll be going places for sure, as will Hail the Sun
shouldve went to the rock yourself to sleep tour, with all those bands except stolas, but instead it was I the mighty
If only the concert wasnt just in cali.
i saw it in Atlanta so....
Pretty sure that's happening now, except without DGD and ALLB
"and as i hung there i noticed how you, how you all just stood there - like stone you stood there.. and as i hung there i noticed how you, how you all just stood there... the fear kept you there. and i watched you"
this song is so fucking epic thank u hail the sun the meaning behind this song and the lyrics really speak to me.. :')
naw u don't sound stupid brotha.
its about the victims of the system - at least that's what i've interpreted
+Sean Mahar Salem Witch Trials
yea talks about the system in general too, "evil is the grease that runs the system let em burn to assist them in control"
dude i'm seeing these guys live tonight :O Sean Mahar
san antonio tx :)

These guys and the rest of the Sac Town scene put hardcore to shame. Addicted to this song already.
Hopefully the fans got a little smarter and realized how good this is
Any one else see the hash slinging slasher?
Levi McElrath I was literally just about to comment that until i saw this...
"Get away, he's gonna flip me"
Oh how I love this band. Their Elephantitis EP is abolutely phenomenal. This full-length will undoubtedly reach the bar its predecessor has already set.
imo their best work is POW! Right In The Kisser. But if they do an album of stuff like this it will definitely reach Elephantitis levels of awesome.
I can already tell
This album is about to be amazing
Wow, these guys are awesome. Why has it taken me so long to find them? They sound like they should be way more popular then the amount of views on this video.
Yes! I love the emotion driving with the music, so powerful. I can't wait to hear the rest of the album!
YES YES YES!
I already knew you guys were gonna make it big when I stumbled upon your Kickstarter in December 2011. Keep up the good work guys!
And of course.. please release this on vinyl.
Gahhhh his voice is a jewel! I can't wait to hold the album in my hands. Congrats guys.
Man I've been waiting for this and they did not disappoint. Great tune. So fucking excited for the new album.
Love this band , saw them live amazing
I cannot formulate an expression using tangible words from any language that would even begin to express just how much I fucking love this song!!
this song made me cry the first time i heard it
Early version of Hanging Revelations.
Mix is way different from the album version.
Also I think some guitar, drum, and vocal work was re recorded or re worked for the album version.
Especially the screams, listen to "terror is the grease that runs the system"!
Just thinking the same thing.
Wow I never heard this recording! Donny sounds so clear and different
top 10 of all time!
I don't understand why people are hating on this song! I love this song! The sound is beautifully perfect and the lyrics are good!
Thank god you guys came back. Missed you guys.
Going to be one of the best albums to come out in resent years !!!
BTW please release it on vinyl, I will buy that shit in a second
This is awesome. Couldn't be more excited for the LP now
first subscriber to Blue swan records hell yes!
Such a beautiful way to state how you feel artistically. Great song. Great message.
This is awesome.
I'm loving this! Cannot wait for the album
Amazing, can't wait for the album!
And as I hung there I noticed how you- how you all just stood there!
I'm usually into heavier stuff but I really like this band alot. Really good stuff.

I love love love this so much!! :)
i have not found a band i have fallen inkove with so fast since parkway. this is fucking amazing
I have never fallen inkove with a band before, however i have fallen IN LOVE with bands before, an example: this band.
Dude, you have no idea, I've been waiting for this album for the last 2 years. Elephantitis absolutely kicked the shit out of me and I could not be more stoked to hear the rest of this.
Buying the upcoming album, I love this.
amazing
New favorite song
I'm not gonna lie this singer is so good he sounds like Anthony green in a good way
Can't fucking wait for this record.
Best Band..
But i ask - what does the "german!?" background mean?
+Guitarrfcker I have asked this myself... I live in Austria and in the Articles in the background there is mention of the "FPÖ", which is a very popular right wing political party here. It's hard to decipher any real meaning from the small abstract seen in the video, but I presume it was either selected at random or it has something to do with the nature of said right wing part(ies)y (?) (Also it seems to be written a sortof parody/criticism). As said, I can't really wrap my head around it unfortunately
I like this mix more than the album’s, maybe it’s just cuz I heard this one so much before hearing the other
Is it available anywhere tho to buy?
I really started to admire this song on the third and fourth listen as well as the lyrical content. But they did seem more serious as opposed to the witty and more relaxed ones I fell in love with on Elephantitis. Either way i am really looking forward to whats coming this Fall!
They encourage themselves - people who listen to this.
Let them pray, let them pray ~ for us!
I here a lot of Pow Right in the Kisser and thats a good thing. This album is going to brilliant no doubt.
This is amazing3
Aside from The Slash Slinging Slasher, the song is keeping safe. Like if it's not broken, don't fix it. Until the album comes out, I'm not sure if they dipped into fresh sounds. Safe song, holding my interest on a rope.
Probably one of the best songs I've heard. haha :)
Hell yeah!
Meeen I cant wait till the release :-(
idk if it feels as strong as their songs from Elephantitus. But Im still digging it. I'll probably be a fan of their music for a long time
First song I've heard from them...came b/c I was checking out Sianvar and I knew all the bands except this one. Sounds like a cross between Circa and A Lot Like Birds...in other words it sounds fucking amazing.
oh my godddd hail the sun yes
how do so many people not like this song? its pretty great. Especially that Phrygian cadence at 0:16. It gets me every time. But anyway.... this song isn't there best by their standards its average, but by an average song by Hail the Sun is like pretty amazing in other standards.
Oh god yessss
Demo version. Still AMAZING
I like how their songs are like basically a controlled satire, encouraging sum to act and live their life.
Prime!
Epic
why does this lyric video sound so much different from the original version on the full length album, it sounds like it was recorded at a different tempo or something
It's the early version, album version is re-recorded
Sounds like an aggressive circa survive! Awesomeness
This is so fucking good.
2:19 was that a will swan cameo scream?
Mighta been Shane Gann
Cheeeeeeeeeeewy yeah it definitely sounds like Shane
Whats the story with this being different than the album version?
I finally got to see them back in October with DGD and I about creamed my fucking pants it was so great.
MorganToDOPE where at?
Memphis Brookshire In Norfolk, VA
Go hail the sun! ahah this song kicks ass
This song Reminds me of the castlevania tv series.
replay mode initiating...
Bruuuhhh they got the Hash Slinging Slasher at 0:12
This song is about the crucible incase any one is wondering
Why the german background book pages?
Blake Guthrie yeah but why german ? there were also sales slips
Quiestre I think you're just examining too closely, some things are better viewed at a distance.
The crumpled pages that make up the bound girl is from Shogun. As far as I can venture, the lyrics depict either the Salem Witch Hunt, or maybe the Inquisition. *shrug* Perhaps they are making a correlation between these events and current goings on?
because german looks cool
I could never figure out where that "Manipulation" was until now. It's really buried in there.
What do you mean? I'm intrigued.
WOAHFOX The line "Manipulation" is really hidden under "Let them burn!". I saw it in the lyrics, but I had the hardest time hearing it in the CD release of the song.
Life.
9 more days till the drop
The HASH SLINGING SLASHER
Why does the album version sound so different than this version? This version is amazing still
Probably a different recording.
Yeah they rerecorded it. I like this version better though, little heavier
@@A1ch3mi5t32 I think this version is less heavy :/ album version sounds much more finished to me
This was the demo version, they re-recorded it for the album release.
yea
so fkn siickkkk
You know, for a metal song this sounds surprisingly upbeat.
This isn't metal, but I guess I understand what you mean.
Metal..... You make my brain cry tears of acid......
This is hard rock or well I guess that's at it's general. A lot of their songs sound upbeat despite their lyrics.
Brayden Fath
Well forgive me for not being enough of a music snob to be able to differentiate between the 1000+ subgenres of guitar music.
Zennistrad1 Wouldn't you be facepalming if someone called a banana an orange???
Fuck, this mix is so tasty. Listen with headphones.
Hanging Revelation - Hail the Sun (Drum Cover)
Told you there'd be a drum cover coming.
Wowie
This song hits different when your ex actually hung herself rip
quality sounds different than album, so do some vocal parts.
anyone else?
+tutu07777 This was a demo version of the song I think. They had it animated before the album's release. They re-recorded the song when they were doing the recording for the wake album.
+Philip Goudeau This version sounds way better in my opinion.
Katt Stewart i disagree, this album totally sounds like a demo, some vocal parts and harmonies sound off. it sounds like maybe 75 percent completed at this point
tutu07777 I can agree with that but Don's voice just fits better in my mind, we all have opinions.
I personally think the production on this one just sounds way more open and clear. Maybe I just got used to the original, but the new one sounded muffled and compressed when i first heard it.
I thought this was Anthony Green at first lol this band sounds dope as fuck right now
It was a little too slow at the start, but once it picked up it was perfect.
